Hotel Emblem San Francisco

Hotel Emblem (formerly the Hotel Rex) is a great, remodeled boutique hotel in the heart of Union Square. It kept the former Rex' literary theme but modernized it. So you have homage to the Beats but in a modern setting. The staff is amazing, always friendly and helpful. The rooms are terrific. I can't recommend the hotel enough when you visit SF. Close to everything.

Staff was super friendly. We spoke with them on checking in early and checking out later and they were quick to accommodate. I honestly loved this hotel. They were also really clean and organized. I would definitely stay here again

The lobby and rooms are beautiful, great aesthetic. Need was comfy, and the espresso machine was a nice touch. Full size soap and lotion. So luxurious. Water dispenser at the end of the hall was awesome! No more running to the store for plastic bottles. Room was drafty because it had old windows, bathroom was vented, but no fan, so it fogged up. Just wish the hotel upgraded these when they renovated. Overall, still very satisfied, and would stay again.

My wife and spent our wedding weekend here. This hotel had a lot of character and we're looking forward to coming back for our anniversary. Hopefully, then the coffee shop and bar will be open. We also loved how close everything was. We walked everywhere like Starbucks, Pier 39, China Town, 7-eleven for those late night ice cream runs, and all our fine dining reservations, without any problems.

Checked in because my apartment doesn't have AC. They allow dogs! Room was very clean and roomy. I enjoyed the King bed, crispy white sheets and quiet.

Perfect location, close to shopping, clean rooms and friendly staff.

The hotel was supposed to be giving us. A premier king room with a speedster sitting area and was the most expensive upgrade , but it was actually a tiny sliver of a couch beside the bed n. Sorta misleading , and the room was tiny and the service with front desk was horrible

The best features of this hotel are unavailable due to covid 19 - the bar/lounge area, coffee shop, and presence of employees. The rooms and overall structure, while clean, are not impressive. The whole place has a strong musty, damp smell; the elevator is a fright (functioning but tiny, and creaky). We were generally pleased with the location and the service from the one or two remaining staff people.

This place was adorable. The decor, the bar, cafe - loved it all. While we couldn’t use the bar or cafe due to Covid, it still added to the overall presence of the hotel. We were always greeted with friendly staff and we even got a complimentary bottle of champagne for our anniversary. Would definitely go back!
