The Grand Central Hotel

Interesting old building with reception desk reminiscent of a theatre box office. Friendly and helpful staff. Unusual decor in the bar. Unusual to find earplugs by the kettle. There was music audible in the bedroom coming from the bar but it didn't trouble me. Room clean and spacious. Excellent breakfast available and unlike comments in other reviews, there definitely is a choice available with juice and tea or coffee. Possibly not a hotel to everyone's taste but I thought it was great.

Weekend with friends. Two of us had rooms here. Reception area seemed weird at first due to booth but staff helpful and friendly. Rooms clean, mine badly organised, room 4, had to put kettle on floor to plug in. But room 3 seemed fine. Breakfast was good with reasonable choice.

Had a fantastic time! A pity it rained 2 days out of 3
