The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel - New York

Would definitely stay at this hotel again. The only problem we had was the room was too warm. The lowered the thermostat temp but it didn't help. We probably just weren't doing something correctly. Not a big enough problem that we called for help.

Rooms were nice but halls rather worn. Beware that high speed internet is not included in the pricing and all internet access from rooms is cable based (no wireless).

I booked A very last minute business trip to ny. This hotel had availability at a convenient location, and the price wasn't outrageous. Nice lobby and staff was attentive. BUT, the heat didn't work in my room. Temperature was 69 degrees- not that bad, but I wanted it warmer. Called to desk- they sent someone right away. Fiddled with the radiator and […] said he would have to "fix it in the computer". Nothing was fixed. No follow-up phone call. I would up just being cold all night. Not acceptable for the price I paid. Other minor annoyance- no shower cap. Come on people- shower caps should be standard amenity!!! Those problems aside, it is a decent ny hotel room. I'd book again if my other favorite midtown hotels were not available. Devamı

Expensive, had no room service after 9pm and the room was slightly shabby and aged.

The location is great if you like to be close to Broadway theaters and easy access to most subway lines. But you really pay just for the location. I've previously stayed in other hotels within 2-3 blocks of this hotel, within the same price range, all of them more comfortable. The rooms (at least the standard queen) are tiny (yes, hotel rooms in NY […] tend to be small, but this was ridiciuosly small!) You can hear everything from the street, from the corridor, from the rooms next to you (and above you), etc. One of the bell hopps was friendly, otherwise service was non existent. We stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend 2011. The location is perfect for exploring the area. You are a 2-3 blocks from the craziness of Times Square and 5 -6 blocks from Central Park. There is so much to do in this area and the hotel is in the center of it all. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when needed. The hotel itself is in okay […] condition. I would say 3 out of 5 stars. The lobby is average and not too big. They have 5 computers for guest use where you can print your boarding passes or surf the net. A small shop with souveniers and munchies as well. There is a restaurant in the hotel but we did not eat there. The rooms themselves are ok. We had a king room on the 11th floor. Everything was a little worn and could use some refrshing. It did have a 40" flat screen TV, desk with wired internet included as well. The wireless was free too but at the time of our visit it was pretty slow. The bathroom was small but everything worked as it should. Our 2 biggest complaints were 1) the sheets. They are no cozy and make loud noises when you toss or turn. 2) The wall are pretty thin. We could here doors closing at all hours of the night, as well as horns being blown on the street below. So, I would suggest a higher room and maybe bring your own sheets if you can. All in all, the location made this hotel worth the stay, not to mention the prices arent bad at all, especially given the proximity to all the attractions. Very nice hotel.... Would stay there again.

Although the room doors were heavy, the hallway noise, especially from hotel staff (as in the room cleaning crews) was unpleasant and disturbing. The rest of the staff was less than helpful any time we tried to ask for anything from them.

The hotel was nice, clean and conveniently located between Times Square and Central Park. The room was a little small, but I am sure that is because of the location. The rooms were not as sound proof as I would have liked. The pool was nice, able to swim lengths. I will stay there again.

rooms were clean and large by Manhattan standards. Computers for guests in the lobby. Great indoor swimming pool large enough for lap swimming. All in all, a great hotel for the price.

We had a smooth check-in, and were able to park in an underground lot in the same building (although you pay through the nose...) Our room had wet carpet, possibly from a leaking HVAC unit, or possibly from a poor cleaning job. Either way, the hotel quickly got us a new room without any hassle. They do not have a sleep sofa, even though the reservation agent offered us one. The towel/internet service was prompt, and the street noise was minimal.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Modern, friendly and close to everything. I will be recommending the Manhattan at Times Square to my friends and colleagues who travel to NY.

I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The staff was friendly and courteous, especially the daytime bell hop. My room was clean, modern and comfortable with the luxury of a tub in the well sized bathroom. My hotel room was very dirty. (Mainly the bathrom.) If had arrived earlier in the day, I would have changed hotels.

Hotel needs a major renovation. Bait and switch with Starwood hotel chain attached to it. Way over priced for the rooms and amenities. Breakfast also way over price however Mohammed was a terrific waiter. The restaurant needs to be open for lunch and dinner with room service available. Will not stay again at this hotel.

We arrived at our hotel, checked in and went up to the room. At this point there was no tv service and the ice machine on our floor and floor 13 did not work. What can I say? The location of this hotel is amazing!! Right on Times Square with everything you need right around the corner. The price is good considering it is New York, the cheapest I found with a private bathroom. Defiantly would stay there again and again.

The telephone in the room did not work and had to be dealt with on day two. The coffee maker did not work and it took 4 attempts to get it replaced. The fault was in the electric wiring. Safety was compromised by someone putting paper in the wall socket thereby creating a fire hazard. Breakfast was boring; the same every morning. A fried egg was $2.50 […] extra from the buffet breakfast. The entire hotel is "tired" and needs refurbishing. Not a good experience ! Devamı

The walls were thin. I heard the people next door talking while I was trying to fall asleep. DirecTV is the TV service and it shouldn't be used for hotels, I think. the weather was bad that night and I barely had connection. Would recommend but only for quick stays. I don't think the price is worth it for non-business visiting.

The hotel is convenient to Time Square, but a few blocks away, so a quieter area. Our room was large - and a bit utilitaian as far as furnishings...but it had a very clean and comfortable bed and great shower. The hotel could use some updating when it comes to the guest rooms but, overall, it is very nice. The bed in my room was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. There was plenty of drawer space to unpack and lots of room to move around. This place was great and the location was nice for tourists. I went for the comic con which was walking distance from the hotel or a $5 cab ride. The rooms bathroom had a few scuffs in the floor but otherwise the room was nice and clean and the staff friendly. The hotel was very nice. The only problems I had was that I could hear a constant humming noise all night I guess it was from the ice machine or elevators. The other problem I had was the showers, the water pressure was horrible. I could not get the shower head to stay up and the water just about reached me. This hotel is 5 min from Times Square. Neighborhood is fine for walking at all times of the day. Short walk to Central Park and 5th Avenue shops. The rooms are clean and well maintained and the amenities & food was very good and a priced reasonably. Only downside was room was a bit on the warm side and we never could cool it off.

Seven adult family members stayed here at the end of August. The location is superb - 5 mins to Times square in one direction, 5 minutes to Central Park in the other. Smallish for a 'large' midtown hotel, it's fine if you don't expect to eat or drink in the hotel for main meals. Plenty of good restaurants and bars around though. Rooms were good with […] super views and very comfy beds. Bathrooms were tiny and in need of new sanitaryware / tiles / flooring. They were regularly cleaned and they were very generous with towels etc. One warning - don't use the phone for even the shortest of international calls. We rang home to let our parents know we were safe in Hurricane Irene and they tried to charge us 8 -30 dollars a minute to europe! They did modify this when challenged though but I wondered how many business guests would just sign the account without looking at it and be ripped off. Apart from this, the hotel would be thoroughly recommended as good value for money and the fact we could walk everywhere - Empire State, 5th Ave shops, Broadway, Rockerfeller Centre etc. saved us lots of money and more importantly, time. The area is safe, even for young teenagers on their own. Just don't accept any C.D.'s that hustling, would-be rappers might thrust into your hand. Devamı

Fantastic location! Could use some freshening up but the price is right. The mattress was comfortable but the pillows could be better. Overall a great place to stay if you're on a moderate budget.

this hotel is really old and dingy. it smells like smoke even in the non smoking rooms. the AC is loud and the walls need some serious painting/new wallpaper. the sockets are so bad that it caves into the wall. my comforter was not 100% clean. that being said, it's a great location near Times square and Broadway. Great location. Very Clean. Breakfast Buffet was excellent. The only negative comment was that both mornings the cleaning staff yelled back and forth to each other outside our room. We had a hard time sleeping in late.

We would highly recommend the Manhattan at Time Square in NYC. It is a great location and within walking distance to Time Square and Rockefeller Center and many other sites. The bellman/service was good and helpful. Rooms are nice, clean, white comforters which I like and we slept very well in ours. A great price for NYC! They have one cup coffee makers in rooms that we used a lot in the morning. Would also recommend the greyline double decker buses for touring and getting around! The check in staff is slow and unprofessional. Hotel needs renovation. They cater to student exchange groups so the lobby is always crowded and you can never use the computers in the business lounge because the students are all using it for Facebooking their friends. Elevators are slow and with the crowds you can wait a tremendous amount of time.

Not the best condition hotel or the cleanest, but if you're a tourist long to be close to Times Square then this is a good option.

The location was great for theater lovers. The main problem was the restaurant. They only serve breakfast and it was expensive. I would much rather see an in house Starbucks than the type of restaurant currently in place. It was inconvenient not having room service. We went to bed hungry several times. I would also like to see wireless Internet installed. […] Having to use wired connection is very inconvenient. Most travelers use laptops or iPads now. I would also like to see a second chair available for use at the desk. With the computer chained to the desk it made it hard to share the work space. We had to pull over an overstuffed couch chair. The staff wasn't prepared for our check in and it took about 15 minutes. Our room wasnt throughly cleaned before we got there and the room was grungy. The tub in the bathroom had cracks and was peeling up. No bed bugs though. I guess that's the bright side. And it had a pool. That was nice on a 100+ degree day.

I reseved for two bouble bed with Hotel.com and I got one queen bed. There was a big problem .

This hotel is SO behind the times, if you need a fax, you have to bother the person at the gift shop to help you. Everything is outdated and for this hotel's local near Times Square, it should be current. I will NEVER book another room here and I was embarressed for my boss that he had to endure his stay at this hotel!!!! AWEFUL!

My only issue with this hotel was the elevators. It took a long time to get one and then they were already filled. They need to address the elevators for faster service. Also, you couldn't even use the stairs after 6pm. I don't understand that at all. I would have used the stairs rather than wait 10 minutes for an elevator.

Everything about the hotel was really great. Room super spacy, complimentary internet at the Lobby, the best of all features, it's location. It was more than what I expected. I would definitely stay again.

We contacted the hotel directly and the costs were too high for me to stay. We contacted hotels.com and they got us a better price. We loved our stay, the lobby desk, bellmen, cleaners, security, & greeter at the pool were all polite and helpful. We would like to come back however the advertised price is too high.
