The Grand Hotel - Sydney

The Grand is perfect if you just need a place to lay your head while you explore one of the worlds most fabulous cities. Its a classic hotel with the bare basics but it works. The sirens can be a little loud but lets face it, you are in the city.

Not a very nice place to stay. If you are traveling on a budget this is for you, but if not don't stay. Only good thing was the location. Bathrooms and showers were "somewhat" clean. Bring sandal thongs. Would not recommend this.

Not a very nice place to stay. I would prefer pay 10 bucks more and stay in different hotel. Would not recommend this to anyone!

The Hotel is too old, and the room has very basic ammenties, shared bathrooms are very clean, but the shower is toooo small for a single person to use it, you can barely stand. But looking at the price and location it is Ok deal.

room neat, but no curtains and you get bright lights streaming in all night from office building opposite, no extra pillows available, and unfortunately lift broke down on our first evening, which meant climbing stairs for five flights with a disabled person very difficult, stuck in room due to this problem for long periods as could not walk up and […] downto many times as cause pain Devamı

This hotel is basic but clean and the service was good. It is in a great position and I will stay there again when I need to be in Sydney.

There was NO overhead light on the 2nd night even though I advised hotel staff earlier on the 2nd morning. There was NO fan operating either night - staff also advised. The bedroom window could not be locked as the catch was not working & the Saturday night music to be expected was very loud.

After reading the comments posted by recent guests I was apprehensive about my upcoming stay at the Grand. As a result on my arrival I was not expecting a high level of comfort amidst lavish surroundings. Well I was pleasantly surprised to be ushered into a functional clean and tidy room. The shared bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Of course […] the lavish surroundings never materialized but then what would one expect from a budget hotel? The existing facilities may have looked tired but were in every way fit for purpose. The outside noise may have been a little intrusive but this did not offset a pleasant and comfortable place to bed down for the night. Would recommend it to any budget traveler. Devamı

was perfect for what we wanted, didnt intend to spend much time there, was somewhere safe and clean to rest and shower whilst we enjoyed the shopping in sydney. close to the rocks markets and parking stations.

Hotel was basic but adequate. It served the purpose of our visit as it was only 5 minutes from the venue of our conference. Perfectly acceptable

Not for the family, after seeing the room we started to look for different accommodation though ran out of time and decided to stay. One bed base was broken and the other bed smelt like urine, the basin in the room was cracked and the floor was dirty. Surprisingly the linen and shared bathrooms where clean. Walked up 4 flights of stairs to our room (elevator took so long we couldn't keep waiting) and when we got there, the guy unlocked the door for us and it was someone else's room. So then we walked back down 2 flights as he called another hotel to put us into and then found out our room was the one next door. So we walked back up to 4th and got into […] our room finally. The fan wouldn't work without the lights on, so we had to sleep in the hot room with the windows wide open and it was so loud we had to sleep with the tv really loud to drown out the noise outside.
