MAX Serviced Apartments Manchester, Piccadilly Central - Manchester

My friends and I stayed in these apartments for one night and we were shocked at how bad it was! When we went to the room, our balcony door was wide open and when we tried to shut it, it was apparent that the door and lock was broken. We tried to phone reception from the apartment but our phone was broken too. So after we went to reception, the girl […] looked like she did not care at all and said she would send someone up. After waiting for half an hour, no one appeared so we had to go back down to reception and were greeted with the same unenthusiastic response. After an hour and a half, someone eventually came and we had to sit for half an hour whilst he fixed our door. When we mentioned we were in a rush and had plans that evening so if it would be more convenient we could move rooms, it was apparent they didn't see this as an option. This was just the beginning and there were many other things that were unacceptable about our stay. We had no toilet paper on arrival, our television was broken, phone was broken, door was broken. Every dish in the kitchen was filthy and the glass doors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. Overall, a very poor stay!! Devamı

A very modern apartment, up-to-date and decked out in 'Next' furniture. The place is lovely inside but very poky. I expected nothing less...however scratch beneath the surface and you find wonky taps, dodgy plumbing and a lack of basic amenities such as soap in the bathroom. Stay was ok, but no onsite staff to help - spent 2 days with an orphaned ironing board and no iron - nobody onsite in the morning or evening to tell about it so 2 days of in-ironed shirts. Heating system was a bit random and decor and facilities a bit tired (broken tap, missing bathroom radiator, iron burn on carpet (presumably why the iron had been […] removed). The apartment met expectations. Clean, decent size and better value than a hotel room for a similar price. You need to bring along shampoo, soap, washing up liquid, dish cloth, T Towel, unless you use the dishwasher. They supplied two tablets and washing machine tablet. Towels were supplied. Location is in the student part of the city, right by Picadilly […] station, and next to "The Place". Main issues were: lift was broken, and the fiddly system of getting in past keypad doors. Room was noisy as the seal had broken so street noise was coming through. Excellent wifi. Devamı

The room is big, but all of locks are not working, and some doors cannot even be closed. plugs are not working either but only the one in the kitchen.

The room had no heating on when I arrived and took until 5am in the morning before a reasonable level of temperature was acheived due to just small electric heaters (one of which fell off the wall when I tried to turn it on). Needless to say I had a sleepness night. Might as well have caught an early train and not bothered with overnight accomodation! […] Whilst the overall apartment was spacious the bedroom was tiny and you couldn't even open the wardrobe door properly as it hit then end of the bed. The level of service has improved and there is now a receptionist usually available until 11pm for check-ins. Room was clean and tidy and warm.

The hotel was generally tidy, the cupboards in the kitchens were broken, there was stains in the bedroom carpet. The bath jacuzzi did not work and neither did the heated towel rail, I complained to the staff and in return just got an apology. There was no hot water in the morning so couldnt shower. These could be nice apartments - nice size. But the standard of cleanliness was extremely poor - and the quality of some of the fittings was bad - cupboard doors not fitting in the kitchen, for example. Couldn't understand why a large jacuzzi was installed so that it intruded on the doorway to the bathroom, when a standard bath would have fitted perfectly […] - and probably have been much easier to keep clean. The person on reception was completely overworked at the time I checked in - but she did have a very pleasant manner and was very efficient in forwarding an invoice to me after my stay. Devamı

Excellent rooms but sadly the building is not being kept in good repair. We had to be moved three times to find a room with a working oven and television with a balcony door that actually locked. The staff were excellent and tolerated my complaints and once we were sorted (on the second day) we were left to our own devices in a fairly nice apartment […] located around the corner from the train station. Oh yeah, and when I rang the central number to complain about things they tried telling me that I should out up with things which only made me madder. The hotel did not have good maintenance. Many broken furnuters even window's Handel. The water heater broke last day. Very dirty hallways. Most concern that when I came at 8 pm. The front desk was closed and I had to wait 2 hours for the security to come and give me the keys

Stayed in a 2 bed apartment for one night. Check in was easy. Room fantastic with balcony. Clean and tidy and bed very comfortable. Would certainly recommend for anyone wanting to stay close to Manchester city centre.

The management of the apartments have improved and the expectation of towels, soap and other items not being in the rooms has lessened. The rooms are well laid out and the bed very comfortable. There is still a problem with the locals getting into the entrance area and using it for drinking and smoking although at times they have had an attendant regularly […] checking. If you are expecting to arrive after about 5:30pm I would advise you to call the apartments and get the entrance codes. Devamı

The apartment was spacious, clean and as it is still relatively new, so condition is good. Location is also excellent as it is near the train station and free city shuttle buses. Only minus was the lack of services. It shouldn't be called a services apartment.

Very disappointing stay. The shower & sink in the en-suite were dirty when I arrived and the taps on the sink spewed out air and then brown water on first use. There was an iron but no ironing board and even then, the iron didn't work! For the price I paid, i did not get the comfort, bath room had major problems,drains did not work, water in the shower was not draining .toilet seat was broken,rooms were very small.Was not very happy, will never stay there again.

There was no balcony and hairdryer in the apartment which was on the list of facilities. Also the extractor hood above the kitchen hob didn't work and the blind on large living window wouldn't open either.

The management have seen fit to improve the apartments and are actively repairing or replacing the broken items. There can be a problem with local rough sleepers getting into the entrance lobby. There is still an issue of arriving late and it is recommended if you book through Hotels.com you phone the apartments during the day and get the access codes […] and how to obtain the key. Devamı

Apartment was clean and fairly well equipped, although no iron provided. as 2 of us were staying and had different schedules a second key would have been really helpful. Overall a good place to stay for a short break

These apartments are in need of redecoration and substantial maintenance. For anyone wishing to self cater, and by that I mean to have a glass of wine, forget it. An apartment for 4, there were 3 glasses. No cloth for wiping up, no cloth to dry any washed dishes. The 'blurb' said that there would be toileteries. I wasn't expecting much, we got nothing..not […] even a sachet of shower gel. I would not consider staying here again. I visit Manchester regularly and have stayed in many different apartments. The MAX apartments are in an amazing location. The room was fairly well equipped, but there were a few issues. One of the selling points was the spa tub. There was no stopper for the tub. We would leave in the morning before anyone was at registration & returned after they had left. Because of this, we were never able to use the tub. Also, the list […] of equipment for the room said there would be a hair dryer & a tea towel. We had neither. We also had no towel bars, just bits of broken tile where it looked like they once hung. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the canal and it was very comfortable. Unfortunately, we had a dark damp corridor full of black mold along the baseboards to walk through to get to the room. Lastly, the day before our departure, the lift broke and still wasn't fixed we left. All that being said, I would probably stay again if visiting Manchester because the location was that great. There have been some improvements in the management of the hotel although there is a little way to go. For those booking through Hotels.Com there is still the issue of arriving after 5pm when the staff have gone. To get in, to get your key and to get to the room you will need codes and these are not provided, you only get them if you book directly.

For a hotel that was built less than a year ago, I was not impressed at all by the quality of the room. One of the toilets was propped up by a brick, in the other bathroom the faucet was not attached to the sink, the hot water tank leaked, neither the stove nor the range worked...it was all around a very disappointing room based on how it is portrayed […] online. That said, the service is very good - the clerk came up to see what could be done and provided us with extra towels and did what she could to make our stay more pleasant. Location of apartments is ideal next to the main station but that was let down by the lack of service available. To start there were 4 of us sharing a 2 bed but they only had 1 key- which meant constant problems if we weren't sure who would be back first. Then on one of the nights someone set the fire alarm off- after 2 hours of it going off we rang […] the emergency number as there is no 24 hour reception I was rudely told someone was on their way- basically if your staying here and there's a problem your on your own! We were a bit apprehensive when reading the reviews but we thought we'd give it a try. Upon arriving, check in was fast. Once we got to our room, it wasn't so great. The lock on the door to get to the elevator and to the rooms was broken and "fixed" by brown tape. The bathroom was not clean and the heated towel rail was hanging off the wall. Kitchen […] was the same with a cabinet door broken and placed on the side, freezer was dirty with used cutlery. We spoke to the receptionist and explained the condition of the room which the receptionist knew beforehand but did not mention upon checking in at all. We have no idea how this room was deemed acceptable for guests to stay in. We booked months in advance to stay for 7 nights. We were told that maintenance would arrive during the day to fix it and if it could not be fixed, we would be upgraded for free. After waiting we decided not to stay in the same room and requested a different room or an upgrade only to be told that we couldn't, even if we paid and that they were fully booked. At this point we considered cancelling the booking but then they managed to find an available room which we got eventually after several hours of dealing with the first room. We've stayed in a variety of hotel apartments in Manchester before and the size of the one bedroom apartment is quite small compared to others. Overall, there's no way we would even consider coming back to Max Serviced Apartments and definitely would not recommend it to anyone. Devamı

I checked in after 6 o'clock in the evening and the process was a bit chaotic as the desk is only manned until 6.00pm. I was upgraded to a 2 bed flat which was very spacious and had all the required ameneties and facilities. Some of the minor fittings, door handles etc. could have done with a bit of attention. It was a very clean and spacious apartment with a fantastic location. The reception staff aren't present over the weekend but whilst they were there they were efficient and provided all of the information that was required. Both check-in and check-out were straightforward and they were happy to allow us into the room an hour early. Unfortunately the […] jets in our bath did not work, and the surrounding area (in certain directions) were a little unnerving, but aside from that no complaints at all. Staff were very helpful. There was not a a microwave in the apartment but a call to reception saw one arrive 10 minutes later. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. It is just a 10 minute walk to Piccadilly mainline and Metrolink stations and within walking distance of many bars and restaurants. Apartments are now called Max apartments. Me and my partner really enjoyed our two day stay here, lovely, helpful staff, clean and perfect location, would use these apartements again as we were very happy with everything, the signal is poor on the television but you do not usually go to watch television. p.s. the big jet bath was amazing!!

Arrived late and no problems checking in even though reception shuts at 6pm. Had a one bed apartment and was an ok size but bedroom rather small. In general the room could have been much cleaner but on the whole everything was ok. kitchen was well equipped too. No wifi - they are in the process of moving to another supplier. No towels - was about to have a shower when I noticed they were missing. Managed to get a set in the end. The laundry had failed to deliver the towels which is why the washing machine in the apartment was in use. Had no hot water when i arrived, plug didnt work in the bath either. Work services around the hotel prevented sleeping in on a sunday morning. had to be moved rooms at 18.30 on a Saturday night. Overall not very impressed with the management of the hotel. Rooms are very good if they are in working order.

You won't be able to find this place easily. Its called Max, not Picadilly. Then when I eventually found it by looking at the building numbers, I couldn't get in. The front door can only be opened by a code, which you won't get until you have got in. There was no one on reception even though the details said there would be. I waited around for quite […] a while, slipped in when someone was coming out and then I had to phone a number which was on the reception desk. I got no answer. So hung around until someone came. The area is very downmarket, although it is very close to Picadilly Station. The apartment itself was excellent, except for the jacuzzi bath not working and no indication where to report problems to. Very cramped 1 bed flat, peculiar layout. The kitchen had a terrible smell of curry when I first entered and it lingered on all night. Not worth the money, other better value options nearby.

the apartments were hard to find, they are called 'The Max Apartments' it was not till we went in and was going to ask if the person behind could tell us were to find 'The piccadilly Central Apartments ' that we saw a small sign on the desk saying that it was the actual apartments. The man on reception was pleasent and told us the doors compination […] locks because after 6pm there would be now one on duty. Got up to the apartment and was very pleased modern and on first apperance very clean one or two things missed by the cleaners, our friend went to one of the toilets and someone had done a 'poo' in the toilet easy to flush but still missed by cleaner, also in the bedrooms and the other bathroom there was a few pistachio nut shells just left on the floor. Cleaners need to get their act together. We did not let these little problems upset us as the location is fantastic and the apartments served our needs. Then we get to late evening, we were on the ninth floor and the noise from outside was very noisy, and at 5am we were awoken by what i can only call a wailing banche, this rather silly girl had got locked out of her apartment because her friends had come home before her,(the apartment only has one key)she was screaming and banging., because there is no security or any one on the desk can not do a thing about it, cannot complain in morning because on a Sunday no one on the desk. The pictures of the apartment are deceptive - the apartments are tiny. The 1st we were offered had not been cleaned so we were moved to a 2nd. The details implied they were all new but the kitchen cupboards were tatty and 2 of the doors were broken and falling off. We planned to cook but not enough facilities.We couldn't watch tv as the aerial kept […] failing The pipes in the bathroom got so hot they actually burnt the towels drying on them - very dangerous. Nobody was available in reception to help. The room smelt of smoke and was dirty. Many of the other guests returned to their rooms at 4am so we were woken all night. Fin lille lejlighed til to med fin beliggenhed tæt på centrum med forretninger og adgang til Metro f.eks. til Old Trafford. Venlig og hjælpsom personale. Dog var der trafikstøj da lejligheden vendte mod gaden og kækkenudstyr var lidt mangelfuld / dårlig kvalitet.
