The room, although quaint was too small for our family of four. My husband and I slept in a queensize bed proper, but our two teen daugheters shared an homemade 'pallett' which was topped with an air-mattress and foam topper, just inches from our bed. My shy teen daughter whom has taken 4 years of spanish tried to help, but he just mocked her attempts. Also the beach towel deposit is debilitating! $80 for 4 towels! We could have bought towels for less than that! The resturaunt is awesome! Great view of the ocean! Great food! If you are a young party couple...I would def recommend this hotel! Familys, beware. Small hotel, friendliest, most accommodating staff. Great for frequent travelers, who like freedom and personality. Not for those who enjoy large all-inclusive resort prisons. It's like a very charming apartment building with a view from the rooftop. Must be able to negotiate short flights of stairs. No pool, but you aren't going to PDC for a pool, […] it's one short block to the beautiful beach, towels are provided and there's a little shower to wash the sand off before you go back up to your room. There are swanky beach clubs and seedy beach clubs all along the waterfront, depending on how much you want to spend on your chair. Or just put your towel down for free. Hotel cielo welcomed my family of one adult, one teenager, and a five year old. We took room 14, in the back, quieter and brighter. Playa del Carmen is noisy! There are cute rooms with balcony in the front. The middle rooms get a little dark. So if you want to party all night and sleep all day maybe that's a better option but if you're out during the day the brighter room is best. Quick cab ride to xcaret or xplor. Don't waste money on the tour bus that rushes you, the cab is 10 USD and ten minutes and can fit 4 people, buy your tickets online or at the entrance. Like previous reviewers we liked that it was so close to 5th Ave and the beach. Thanks to reviews we asked for a quieter room in the back for our baby and it had a nice decor. Each room is unique. We especially liked the sinks in Mexican flair. Staff amazing at all times, even kept our baby stroller safe behind reception. Food at the restaurant is good […] to great in my opinion. My wife says the food was meh though she was sick for most of our holiday:( You can get most any food you want in Playa so explore--we liked a place called 100% natural past Calle 10. This hotel is great! Location is awesome... in between upscale bars & holes in the wall. walk a block or two to the beach. Restaurant has the most excellent breakfast!! Talk to the desk about tours to the ruins. Owner has a list of less known restaurants & bars printed up for you. I will definitely go back! Just completed a 9 day stay at the Hotel Cielo and it was great. After a long day in the sun, you just want to relax and the beds here are perfect for it. You won't find a more comfortable bed in all of Playa Del Carmen and possibly in all of Mexico. The hotel staff was the best and the adjoining restaurant was terrific. I would agree with the other reviewers that if you are looking for a luxurious, all-inclusive with all the frills and amenities, then this is not the place for you. I would consider staying again or at least in a similar type place. If you are looking for a spa, pool, etc. then this is not the place for you. BUT if you want a place that is close to the main street and the beach and budget-friendly, then give this a go.

The room was a tad small but has everything we needed. The room was a bit loud if they forgot to close the doors to the restaurant next door. The staff was very nice and accomadating. i was so surprise of this place.. it's right on the corner of 5 avenue... a block from the gorgeous beach Playa Del Carmen... and the front desk staffs were amazing... Daniel and Yosshian. They are now my friend... I met Stephen... the owner of Cielo. What a gentle and very warm and friendly. It's a nice place for a romantic getaway. Has a great rooftop hang out area. The beds are comfortable too. Some rooms need updating while others are quite nice. The views aren't that great from most rooms and there's no elevator but that adds to the coziness. My girlfriend and I stayed for 5 days and it was one of the best decision we have done on this trip. The staff was very helpful and were always available 24 hrs for anything we needed from towels to information about tours, restaurants, etc. and this is very important as it was our first time in Playa del Carmen. The hotel was basically 10 steps into […] 5th avenue but very quite and away from the party crowd. Also, the hotel was just 1.5 block away from the public bus which was very convenient for us as we took the bus from Cancun. Also, the hotel is well kept and maintained. And the owner is always around to chat with and willing to give information on things needed like the tacos in Xalum restaurant he recommended which is a must have for everyone! The floor plan of hotel although compact was well utilized for easy access even with all the bags I had to pull around. Our room was with no ocean view at all as it was located inside but the way it was layed out made up for it as we found it very cozy and homely atmosphere. Hotel Cielo is a perfect spot to stay if you are in PDC. The location is a block from the nice part of the public beach, next to stores/shopping, great food and late night food options right there; bet best part is that you are not by the loud clubs so you can get sleep when you want to. The service couldn't be better, location is superb. The only thing I'd add is a side table to the beds and more towels. I will stay here again, the rate is excellent and I loved the spanish charm - lovely tile floors, big shower, and they are adding a bar on the top floor that has an incredible view of the ocean. Couldn't ask for more!

Hotel Cielo is a fine low cost accommodation, a few steps west of Avenida 5, on Calle 4 Norte in Playa del Carmen. You will be literally less than 2 minutes walk to the playa, just out the front door to your left. There is a restaurant next door which offers a 50% discount on breakfast, which offers a Mexican and European combination menu and botomless […] cup o' joe. The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke English quite well. The room, on the first floor, was average size with a large, comfortable bed and a shower with reliable hot water. It opens onto an open front mezzanine which has comfortable chairs and couches to chillax on. This being my first time in PDC, I have nothing to compare Hotel Cielo with but, for a few days of fun in the sun and late night hijinx, I found it met my needs to a tee. (Just around the corner on Avenida 5, you'll find a friendly open air walk up bar called 'The Rooftop', which is a friendly and informative spot to start the evening off at.) Devamı

This is a very pleasant hotel, with comfortable beds, fine location close to the beach and the main street of shops, good inexpensive restaurant next door, friendly and most helpful staff. The price seemed a little high but that may just be the reality given the competition. We traveled to the Riviera Maya for a wedding, but there was no room at the […] "all-inclusive" resort where it was held. Completely happy with the location as it was close to the beach, good restaurants and bus station. The appearance, decor and layout were very nice and I could see the new owner is constantly improving the hotel. The owner manager was very helpful and aimed to please. This is a lovely hotel with great rooftop view. The rooms are very beautiful and clean. The resturant has great food and good servivce. Located on the main tourist drag in Playa Del Carmen, Hotel Cielo is secure, very clean, affordable, and comfortable. Where it shined for us was the service. Miguel made our stay fantastic. He promptly addressing any maintenence issues. He gave great recommendations for activities and restaurants, and was extremely helpful in getting us low-cost rates […] on tours. This hotel is in the right location but needs major remodeling. I can't begin to tell you all of the issues with the room. The concierge was very helpful and the food in the restaurant was excellent. The place seems to be undergoing some changes so it may be a better choice in the future.

Me gustó el hotel porque apesar de estar muy bien ubicado a lado de la 5ta Av., es silencioso para descansar y está a solo unos pasos de la playa. El precio está bien y la atención es fabulosa.

Havde købt et værelse med udsigt til havet eller byen - fik et med "udsigt" til en mellemgang. De to vinduer var med matteret glas, så der var døgnet igennem behov for elektrisk lys. Lyset var dog så ringe, at det ikke var muligt at læse en bog. Sikkerhedsboksen var så lille, at den kun kunne indeholde en mobiltelefon og ikke en bærbar PC. I betragtning […] af at boksen ikke kunne låses kunne den alligevel ikke opfylde sit formål. Badeværelset havde ikke andet lys end det elektriske, hvis man trådte på bestemte gulvfliser slukkede lyset, og der var ufrivillig mørkeleg. Den håndholdte bruser sad særdeles godt fast på væggen og ville kræve en skruetrækker for at blive til en håndholdt model til gengæld var der altid masser af koldt vand. Så bliver badene heller ikke så lange. Den lovede aftæpning var hurtig overstået - der var nemlig ikke noget tæppe kun lagen, så tag et tæppe med hvis du er lidt kuldskær. Buksepressen var også forsvundet. Tag endeligt krølfrit tøj med - klædeskabet lugter fælt, men man kan jo bare lade være med at pakke ud. Hvis man kigger på billederne på hjemmesiden, ser det jo ud til, at hotellet har dejligt lyse værelser, så kan man jo bare håbe, at det er sådan et man blive indkvarteret på. Vi har ikke lyst til at lade vores ferie ødelægge af et ringe hotel og tjekkede ud før tid. Devamı
