We loved the location of this hotel. The staff was very helpful with directions and sending us to very good local restaurants. The elevator is very small(common for Europe). There is a rooftop bar and lounge that is a very popular spot and they share the elevator with hotel guests. It was not a problem though. The front desk staff would put you on the […] elevator first. Don't miss the sunset view from the rooftop! Make a reservation for a table!! Our room was large,very clean, comfortable,very new and modern. If you want a very quiet hotel this is not the place for you. The square in front of the hotel is a hopping place with music, shops and restaurants.The square is never empty. Hard to imagine a better location, with a rooftop bar with world-class view (and crowd) to the Acropolis. Rooms are nice and clean with a great breakfast with a view. A few minuses: some rooms are noisy on weekends (because of the bar), cramped elevators that are very busy at times.

Noisy but a wonderful view. Constant chain of local people useing the elevator to accass the roof restaurant. Elevator only carried 2 people at a time. Roof view was super but crowded.

My wife and I loved the location and the roof top bar. I would definitely stay here again. The young kids and the music do get loud if you have to stay on the fifth floor and they go early into the morning every night.

The train is right around the corner from the hotel - so convenient to the airport (Euro 8 each way). The staff went above and beyond to make my trip wonderful! After reading the reviews and not wanting to be on the 5th floor under the night club and after not getting the room promised, the corrected their mistake immediately and then made reservations for me for a private table and bottle of wine at their roof top night club that had the most spectacular […] view of the Acropolis! Eleanor then made sure we were taken care of the rest of the trip from arranging cabs and reservations at a great steak house! Leon our waiter was beyond awesome as well as well as the other staff. You couldn't ask for a better view and everything is in walking distance! Would definateky stay here again! Devamı

I was looking forward to the wide view room, and it exceeded my expectations. The view is indeed spectacular, either by day or by night. The first night I kept the window ajar and did not use the air conditioner, so it was noisy (until about 4 am) from the square below but that was fine, I kept looking out. The second night I closed the window, used […] the AC and the sound insulation was quite good (I had room 12 on the first floor). The breakfast was excellent on the top floor. A for Athens is the best place to stay if you're in Athens for a night or two before heading to an island. It's right by Monastiraki metro station which is on the main train line from the airport and also the train line to the Piraeus (the port to the islands). Great Value. Roof bar is unbleiveable. Only down side is that Roof Bar is open to outside and is a huge hit with the local, hip Atheninas and hallway was jam packed all night long with people waiting to get on the elevator. Staff does give prioroty access to elevator and bar to Hotel customers. I would definitely go back.

A for Athens is now the hotel I choose to stay at for my business trips to that city. Although small and compact (no sweeping staircases or lavish lounges here) it is modern, friendly and contemporary with good sized rooms and great bathrooms with drench showers. The beds are huge and the bedding is of the best quality, which is important to me. The […] sheets are pure 400 thread count cotton and pillows are big and soft. The beds are top quality. I've stayed at grand hotels in Athens where the rooms have not been half as comfortable. WiFi is free, which is also a bonus in a hotel these days. The breakfast, served on the roof terrace, is fresh and healthy and at night this space transforms into a funky cocktail bar with views all over the city to the Acropolis. There was a magical new moon hanging in the sky when I was there. Wonderful. Staff are friendly and efficient. You walk out of the hotel straight into Monastiraki square in the heart of Athens. The metro station is next door on the line which goes directly to the airport which is wonderfully convenient. From the hotel, the main shopping street of Ermou is right ooutside and the Acropolis and the ancient sites of Agrora and Plaka just a short walk away. Syntagma Square and the Parliament to see the fabulously camp changing of the National Guard is 15 minutes stroll away. A for Athens is my number one choice now for my Athens trips. Devamı

The rooms were fine, shower was great. Lovely thick black carpet but in Main Areas only. It was about a fifteen minute walk to City Center, not bad. I thought the ladies of the night added some culture:)

Hotel is located right off the monastiraki square. You really can't miss it as once you step out of the metro station, you see this one only hotel with a lot of people at its roof top bar. The concierge service is excellent, very helpful and extremely courteous. The room is of decent size and is recently renovated with modern decor. Location is central […] and close to all main attraction sites in Athens. It also is close to party area if you love partying and drinking. The rooftop bar is amazing with an unobstructed view of Acropolis. We got VIP treatment to get a reservation and wait for lift for the rooftop. Complimentary breakfast at rooftop is also a plus. The only downsize is noise as it is located in the party area, it does get noisy at night especially on Friday or Saturday. Overall, we're very happy with this hotel and would still recommend it as it has such a great view of the city. Devamı

We all felt A for Athens was an excellent choice. Great locale for the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora and very handy metro to airport. Cabs always available. Staff friendly and helpful. Elevator very small but we were on first floor so used stairs. Overlooks hopping Monastiraki Square and full view of Acropolis at night from our room--marvelous. The […] cafe was a real hotspot, with always a line waiting; we found this exciting though the square was a bit noisy. My husband and I had a quiet room at the back for four days and my daughter a noiser room at the front for three but what a view! We loved it. Devamı

This hotel was absolutely wonderful. The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The room was large (especially given the good price that we got), the design of the room was modern and minimalist chic, and the breakfast room overlooking Monastiraki Square and the Acropolis was breathtaking. I especially liked that the room came with an empty […] mini-fridge, where we were able to keep some snacks that we'd bought in the streets, and housekeeping stocked it every day with fresh bottles of (complimentary) water. Nothing major, but very thoughtful touches. This hotel is ideally situated for sightseeing, getting on the metro, and getting right into the action, yet the double-glazed windows kept the noise out of our room. Perfect. And highly recommended. My only (very minor) complaint is that the free Wi-Fi dropped out regularly, but I honestly can't say that this had a negative impact on our stay. We weren't there to be online. Devamı

This has got to be the most perfect location in the whole of Athens! Monastiraki Square has a lovely villagey atmosphere and almost doesn't feel like part of the city. Great bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk, and only 5-10 minutes from the Acropolis. We arrived, as most travellers do, weary under the weight of our luggage, to be greated […] by a friendly gentleman on reception who was smiley and welcoming. Our room (no24 - non Acropolis view) was HUGE and airy with a fabulous bathroom and monsoon style shower. Breakfast was served in the roof bar and offers a good selection of hot dishes, meats, cheeses and pastries etc and was well worth the extra €3 a night per person. Due to the popularity of the amazing roof bar though you may find it difficult to get a seat in the afternoons or evenings, but as long as you don't mind waiting, or pre-empting your visit and booking table, you will guaretneed one of the best views in Greece! Our room faced the street which meant we had the most amazing view I swear in the city!!! The noise from the street was loud, ear plugs would have taken care of the problem ... even without I would go back again! The staff were amazing, kind and helpful! The breakfast was more than sufficient and again the view from the top where breakfast is served!!! […] At night this area is a hot spot... This hotel was perfect with 2 exceptions. The most roublesome one was the elevator. I think everyone in Athens wanted to go up to the rooftop in the evening which made it very difficult for the hotel guests to use, as it was VERY small and would only hold 3 people max. And it usually was full going up and down, so there was no room for anyone on the […] 'in-between' floors. The view from our room and the rooftop lounge was amazing. The breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. The only other problem was outside the hotel. There are always lots of dogs in the square. They sleep in a cool spot during the day, but at night run around in packs, and at about 3AM the barking starts. A bit annoying. If we ever return to Athens, this would be our hotel of choice. Beautiful hotel and great friendly service. Location was perfect and the view amazing. Just a word of warning that there is a bar on the top floor and it gets prerry loud so if you arent okay with being in the middle of everything and want quiet you might want to consider another hotel. This place hits all the right notes, with perfect central location, stylish-budget ambience (and price!), huge rooms with super-comfortable beds and windows with the best view in Athens and a lovely rooftop terrace for breakfast and sundowners.... except this latter turns into a club on weekends, with ridiculously loud music 'til 3am which pervades […] closed windows in all floors, so no chance of sleep before 3am (hence the low rating of the room comfort, when it is otherwise super-comfy and gorgeous). The neighbourhood is noisy itself, admittedly - but it's a small price for such a gorgeous location in the heart of the historic centre and, crucially, it's a noise you can deal with and which naturally abates in the evenings. Having thumping music until dawn is another matter altogether. The rooftop should be a quiet lounge bar, aimed for adults, with good wines and cocktails (they think they make good ones, but the mojito was a joke...), so they can make more money than from beer-drinking twenty-somethings while also managing to annoy everyone in the rooms. Despite everything else being so good - and my recommendation on those grounds - I will certainly not be staying there on a Fri or Sat night. Devamı

My wife and I stayed at A for Athens for one night and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was on the 5th floor with a great view of the Acropolis and and beautiful balcony. The rooftop bar was an amazing spot for drinks at the end of the day and breakfast in the morning.

Excellent (for the price) new hotel at a very convenient location for tourists (a few steps from the Metro station connected to both the airport and Piraeus). Nice modern decor. Fantastic views from roof terrace bar. Only negative: apparently (I couldn't find them!) no non-Greek TV stations at all.

A for Athens was a good find. The room was well appointed and modern. The hotel was very cute and had a roof top restaurant/bar (a bit overpriced)with an incredible view of the Acropolis. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The location is of the hotel is fantastic, right across from the vibrant Montastiraki Square, and literally next […] door to the metro. The hotel is also super close to multiple is areas of restaurants, bars, shops, and archeological sites. My only complaint was also related to the roof top bar. It is very popular... We were in the rear of the hotel, so we had our own elavator, but the elevator was tiny (only holds 3 people) and there was frequently a long line to use the elevator because people were going up to the roof. Also, our room was just below the bar and on Saturday night, it was very loud. The party didn't wrap up until about 3-4 am. I used a white noice generator, and it still woke me up a number of times. This was a fantastic find. We stayed here for one night before flying out of Athens in August 2011. The hotel was only 2 months old. Very contemporary style with the most amazing roof terrace cocktail bar in the evening which doubled up as the breakfast restaurant in the morning. Views of the Acropollis from the roof terrace were amazing both at night […] and during the day. The staff were incredibly helpful. Отель супер. Обслуживание на высшем уровне. Самый классный бар с лучшим видом в городе на крыше. Все руины в шаговой доступности. Блошиный рынок в ста метрах. Очень интересно полазить по нему. Единственный минус в отеле это плохая шумоизоляция. При закрытых окнах улицу прекрасно слышно. Пришлось купить беруши и спать в них.

Hotel propre, moderne, emplacement parfait, proche de tout, service agréable. Bar très "en vogue" au dernier étage avec vue sur l'acropole. La musique le soir y est très forte. Ceci couplé avec la route très bruyante devant l’hôtel fait que on ne dort pas bien dans cet hôtel. Il vaut mieux utiliser des boules Quies pour être reposé le lendemain. L'ascenseur […] (3places) est très occupé du fait de la fréquentation du bar (un peu difficile avec le bagage et une queue de 10 personnes devant). Pour conclure je trouve que l'hôtel en soi est très bien, joli, bien situé mais la mauvaise insonorisation gâche le tout. Devamı

Empfang sehr freundlich und hilsbereit. Zimmer sind sehr schön modern sauber. Die erste Nacht im 5. Stock war leider Horror, da im 6. Stock die BAr-Disco ist (bis ca. 4Uhr). Kein Schlaf möglich. Am nächsten Tag Zimmer gewechselt ohne Probleme. Also 5. Stock meiden! Am besten sind die Front Zimmer bis 4.Stock. Frühstück ist sehr gut und reichhaltig. […] Schöne Terrasse fürs Frühstück mit Blick auf die Altstadt und Akropolis. Restaurant gibt es im Hotel keines. Die Lage ist aber sehr praktisch. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind in Gehdistanz. Die U-Bahn Direkt-Linien zum Flughafen oder Piräus sind in 2 Min zu erreichen. Personal vor allem Vangelis immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. TV sollte mehr D und E Sender haben und verdient den Namen SAT TV nicht. Zimmerreinigung ist sehr gut und vor allem schnell d.h. man muss nicht bis in den Nachmittag warten wie teilweise üblich. Gutes Hotel an super toller Lage. Ideal gelegen vor allem wenn man vom Flughafen kommt, denn man braucht nicht umzusteigen und Metro Station ist 3 Gehminuten vom Hotel. Lage toll für Shopping und Restaurants und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten, die man easy zu Fuss besichtigen kann. Das Hotel hat eine super Roof-top-bar mit toller Aussicht auf die Akropolis. […] Diese aber ist dann auch der Minuspunkt da es Abends sehr laut wird. Wenn sie ein Zimmer auf der 5. Hotel très bien situé sur la place Monastiraki, au coeur de tous les sites d'intéret : au pied de l'Acropole (vue exceptionnelle depuis l'hotel) et de l'Agora, des quartiers piétonniers, des restaurants, du marché des brocanteurs. La place Monastiraki est également le départ de la rue commerçante d'Ermou qui remonte directement vers la place Syntagma […] où est situé le Parlement. Egalement au pied de l'hotel : le métro qui est direct pour l'aéroport. L'hotel lui-même est très récent, décoré selon un style design. Notre chambre, pour 3, était très spacieuse, style loft et la salle de bain très bien équipée. Au dernier étage se trouve un bar bénéficiant d'une vue à couper le souffle sur l'Acropole. Le matin on y sert des petits déjeuners buffet (pas terribles : pas de chocolat chaud, pas d'oeufs brouillés ou coque, pas de bacon mais fruits frais, pain, beurre, confiture, céréales, fromage, jus de fruit), et le soir c'est un bar branché assez cher fréquenté par la jeunesse dorée de la ville. D'où une circulation un peu bruyante dans les couloirs les soirs de week-end. L'équipe d'accueil est vraiment sympathique et met à votre disposition un ordinateur et une imprimante (bien pratique pour s'enregistrer en ligne pour le vol de retour et imprimer sa carte d'embarquement). Hotellin sijainti loistava: metrolla ilman vaihtoa suoraan lentokentältä ja Monastirakin- metroasema nurkalla. Plakan vanhkaupunki, ravintolat ja akropoli ja ostoskadut kävelymatkan päässä.
