PARKWOOD LODGE - Fish Creek

We had a great experience at the Parkwood Lodge last weekend. The rooms are NOT dirty, just a bit outdated. The location (near the park and a ton of restaurants in Fish Creek) could not be beat and all staff were kind and helpful!

Comfortable for the short time there. No amenities in the room - one needs to bring own soaps, shampoos, etc.

This is the second time my wife and I have returned to this lodge. We love its proximity to Fish Creek and other parts of Door County and in general what it offers. Granted it is basic accommodation, but it suits us fine. We have all that we need and don't spend a lot of our time indoors when in Door County. Both times we have visited we have noticed […] that the toilets do not flush well, which sometimes can be problematic. The first time we asked management to take a look, I doubt they did, as we had a similar problem with another unit this time. I suspect the toilet water pressure is just too low in all of the units. This time I was a little disappointed that our rooms were not cleaned daily. Our beds were made each day and new linens were added, but that was all. To my mind, whether we are there for 1 night or 4 (the latter being our case), then the room needs to be cleaned adequately by hotel staff. This was not the case. Otherwise however, we were still very happy staying here again, as we were last-time. Overall, it is a good place. We enjoy the swimming-pool and whirlpool, both of which are well kept. I spoke with another person staying at these facilities, who mentioned that the place was in a bad-state, and the new owners are slowly doing up the facilities as money permits. Devamı

Loved the location, it is away from the city and away from all the traffic, it is close to Peninsula State Park, I really enjoyed the hiking trails there. The staff was lovely and very accommodating.

This place had a nice setting, fairly close to Fish Creek. Out room needed some updating, however. They had a new tub installed but old faucets. Wall paper border in bath with was old was falling down. Carpet in our unit needed cleaning. Air conditioner ran only on high or it would freeze up. I am very dissapointed this stay did not earn rewards.... […] I did not notice that until checking on my free nights. I thought all stays earned rewards. It isn't like it was a cheap place to stay. Was pretty good. However, the room condition was very dated, and the shower was a bit cold. Everything else was satisfactory. Excellent matresses for back support and great location.

The stay was great. Clean room, nice staff, in the woods so you felt secluded. Would recommend to my friends and family for a nice reasonably price place to stay. Thanks so Much!

Will definitely stay here again and will recommend it. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Room was clean. They supply soft soap at the sink and in the shower but you will need to bring your own face soap and shampoo plus a hair dryer if you use one.

Everything was fine except for the musty smell and rundown condition of the room. Staff was very nice though.

Our suite was roomy, clean but basic. The owners are very nice and the room was cleaned every day. The carpet was new and the small kitchenette had good basic essentials. The pool is indoor and looked nice, probably great for the fall and winter, would have liked outdoor pool in summer. Tennis court needs to be resurfaced, but otherwise a very pleasant stay.

Hotel was clean and our room had a kitchenette which included two burners, a fridg. and sink. Two cabinets above had some basic kitchen supplies. Entrance is only about a mile from either entrance to Penninsula State Park. Beds were comfortable. Not a fancy hotel, but great location.

What a quaint little place! Nice grounds to walk on. Little retro touches like the lamp and kitchenette. Appeared clean but with a funky musky smell.

Needs updating. Carpet needs cleaning or replacing. The free WIFI needs fixing as it did not work while we were there.

Acceptable, but no gold stars. Room was not serviced after first night (though we did leave it a bit late, i.e., about 9am)

The room smelled a little "musty," not sure if it hadn't been open in a while, but the weather was nice outdoors and after having the windows open, it was fine. It had the feel of a 70's type property, nothing fancy, but the wi-fi was fine and the property was well maintained. Lodge was comfortable & clean. Close to Penninsula State Park Entrance (not walking, but driving). No amenities, like shampoo, hair dryers; so make sure you bring your own. No frills, but definitely would stay again.

Very happy with the stay at Parkwood, staff very friendly and helpful. Place is dated, but felt it was very clean and kept up. Would come back again , loved the location, like the quiet.

Parkwood was a comfortable and convenient place to stay. It was easy check-in and out and our room was quiet and looked out over a huge lawn. The room was freshly painted and nice-sized. That said, the carpet was not very clean and in need of replacement as were the bedspreads and lampshades. We had to call the front desk the night of our arrival as […] the refrigerator was leaking, and the staff came quickly. Close enough to the shops. Room not the cleaned well. But staff did fix the problem as soon as notiifed. Parking spot was to far from room when returned from evening out all other spots were filled in area of our room. (after 10 pm, both nights). Pool was nice. No hair dryers in room- bring your own.

This is the second time I stayed at the Parkwood Lodge. Quiet setting away from the traffic of Fish Creek located on Route 42 on a parklike setting. Room includes microwave and refrig. Internet available. Indoor pool, tennis courts and game room available. In room decor somewhat dated. The friendly staff were helpful.

The reason we were in Door County was to pick cherries and have a little get a way. For this purpose the room was perfect. It is in a quiet part of town, the staff was very friendly and helpful and with the exception of the bed being too soft (personal preference), it was a comfortable room. The only other thing that was somewhat disruptive is that […] the ceiling creeked when the people upstairs walked around. Our room had a kitchenette complete with pots and pans, dishes and dish soap. The only common thing that this room lacked was a hair dryer but I prefer to use my own since I am familiar with it. Devamı

Nice and clean, homey atmosphere with lots to do for all. We would go back. The only problem I had with it was the smell of old smoke in the room.
