Captain's Quarters Inn - Port Aransas

Terrific location. Average room. Tile floors are nice. Don't let the trashy, needs-painting stairway to the second floor put you off. The inside people do a better job than the outside people. Good cable TV. Port Aransas is a great place. Beaches are beautiful. You can walk to Virginia's and the other places on the channel.

My son and I visit Port Aransas twice a year to go fishing. Every time we do stay we stay at Captain's Quarters. The hotel is conveniently close to the dock where we fish. Next time we come back to Port A, we will be staying at the Captain's Quarters again.

This hotel is old and not very well kept up. It was very convenient to the fishing boat dock which could be walked to. But....that's about the only good thing that can be said about it. Rooms were dingy, old, not exactly clean, beds were hard and lumpy. Also, the free breakfast was minimal. We definitely will never even consider staying there again […] . Devamı

This motel welcomes pets. It would seem they prefer pets over guests! Despite the overpowering smell of air freshner,it could not mask the odour of dog. Our room smelt like a pack of wet hounds had been lying low in there for a few days. We were only staying for one night, so maybe that was why we were put into the corner of the building with very little […] natural light, looking out at the office door and a blank wall - even though the motel wasn't full. The only concern we had was the air conditioner was very loud. The management did offer another room. Great breakfast!!

everything was awesome: the staff, the location, the awesome breakfast, the deal for the price... the only thing we didn't like was that our bathroom was not clean. it smelled like whoever stayed there before us had "missed" the toilet, and the floor was littered with hair. i hate leaving bad comments, but this was the low point of our stay (cleanliness). […] other than that, we had a great time and were comfortable. everyone was really nice. just had to be honest about the bathroom. thanks for everything otherwise! Aside from the mundane 20 mile trip I had to make into Corpus Christi on a daily basis, the stay at the Captain's Quarters was a very pleasant one. I was pleased with the accommodations and the Texas shaped waffles in the morning definitely made breakfast more fun and enjoyable. Extremely good service from hotel employees-very friendly and courteous. Room was very comfortable - microwave and mini fridge was nice to have. Fantastic breakfast: juice, coffee, cereal, waffles-even a newspaper. Great location in Pt. A. Will stay again! Highly recommend!

Hotel was a bit over priced for a bare minimum hotel. Room was smelly as soon as we entered. Not a bad hotel, just don't expect much.

The hotel was not to the standard I expected. Room did not smell good. Too small. Bathroom had mold and too small. Insulation was not good in the room. cool air kept escaping. Pool area was dirty and kept well with no umbrella's in this heat and not clean. The only positive element was it was close to everything. I would definitely not recommend this […] hotel to any one. The Hotel need Big time work!!! The room carpet was so nasty, the Room in general smell like dog pee ant The Swimming Pool needs more work a better land escaping and new patio furniture. and the breakfast room needs more sophisticated equipment!!!... for the price that we payed I think they can afford to fix things around or change management.

Verified reservation twice w/hotel.com & twice w/hotel. Still wrong when we got there. Faucet in tub dripped-no maintenance available. After shower, showerhead AND faucet dripped. Maintenance says part on order, can't fix. offered chg of rooms-too much bother. VERY bad depression as you enter driveway from street-part of drainage ditch?-not good for […] car. Swimming pool very small-ocean near so if no serious swimming, o.k. A/c worked wells; bed comfortable; room clean when I got there; clothes left on bed felt damp after a day. No moldy smell. The location and the AC were fine. The room smelled of mildew and the bath dripped all night. I had to close he bathroom door to sleep. Wouldn't recommend.

Room was good, room was clean, location was good. service was good. wireless was a little slow but workable. Staff was Great. I would stay there again.

This motel caters to fishermen--it starts its comp breakfast service at 4 AM. We were in PA for a 9 AM meeting at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute. We were awakened at 5 AM by noisy men on both sides and on the balcony & in the parking lot. When I saw the pictures on the computer they seem to be ok, and what helps me decide to make a reservation is the fact that it is pet friendly, but when I arrived to the hotel it was a total desapointment for me and my family. With the rate that I paid I really expected more. The hotel is right in the center of all the action. Take sticky and go to the beach or take a left and eat or play. The rooms are the best and the pool area is awesome. The employees are personalble and breakfast was great!

If you want a new updated extrememly clean room, this is not the place for you. If you want to be close to the Bay, restaurants, shopping and the ferry, this is a great place. Dont expect too much, but was nice to have a microwave and mini fridge.

I rally had a very bad experience at this hotel. This hotel is definitely not as advertised. Stay away from this place. Instead book Holiday Inn Express which is closer to the beach and has better rooms and service.

normal pool hours are 10am to 10pm and that is probably OK for a family hotel but they should consider longer hours on 4th of July weekend

Really nothing wrong with this place. It is close to everything we were there for.

My review is mixed. Was this a 5-star resort, no. But for the price and my previous visits to the area, I was barely expecting one star. So they execeeded expectations. The exterior was much cleaner than I had expected, the paint was nice but the pool was marginal. The rooms were basic beach type rooms, but again I was not expecting much and the room […] was very adequate. Would I come back? If the rates remain in the same area and I come back for a short fishing trip, such as this one, then I probably would stay here. If I were to come here for a week's vacation, then I would probably want something nicer, but sadly priceier. Devamı

We arrived at 2 pm and were told they were cleaning the room now, check back after 3 pm. At 3:15 we were told check in isn't until 4 pm. Came back after 4pm and the clerk seemed confused and said I hope nobody is in your room with a smile, she assured me everything was okay. After grabbing our stuff from the car we climbed the steps and when we opened […] the door found it to be unclean and full of someone's clothes and more. After several moments of confusion as the front desk we were finally given another room. Not sure how that could really happen, but if they were not sure of the room's vacancy, I would think they should have sent some staff to check and not the guests. Devamı

We recently took a trip to Port Aransas. This was the only hotel I could find available last minute that would allow me to bring my dog. After reading many negative reviews of moldy, musky smells..I decided to reserve their upgraded "Captain's Choice" room with the tile floors. I was hoping this would eliminate the odors. I had to pay more for this […] room. When we arrived and walked into our room...it definitely wasn't an upgraded, tile-floored, Captain's choice room. I asked the lady at the front desk and she told me they don't guarantee the room selection, but try to accomodate them. When I asked for the substantial price difference returned to me, she informed me that she would not give me the difference back. Although I loved Port Aransas and will be returning...I won't stay at Captain's Quarters Inn. Devamı

The breakfast is a joke! The only bad thing I did not like about this hotel!

We had three people in the same room and everyone was satisfied. There was plenty of hot water and the room was pretty clean. The A/C was great also which is the most important thing on the Texas coast. The only complaint I could think of was the shower. There was a steady flow (several gallons per day) from it constantly that was a little annoying […] at night. Devamı

Great experience! It's in a great location as well. The staff were extremely cheerful and nice. The continental breakfast was really good too and lots to choose from. Make sure to get there early because they run out of waffle batter quickly. Overall a really great experience. We plan on staying there the next time we go to Port Aransas.

Very nice for the price. Love the tile floors. It was great to walk into a hotel on the coast and be greeted by a very fresh smelling room. The location was super convenient for us...we just walked across the street to our fishing charter. If you remember this is a 2 star hotel, you will appreciate all it has to offer.

We took our kids to Port Aransas for mother's day and for my son's birthday. Being on a tight budget we could only stay one night and we only needed a place to sleep. It was so convenient being as it was just a few blocks from the ferry, the beach was right down the street and there were a few restaurants either across the street or right around the […] corner. The staff was very friendly and they were able to help me. It must be run by a family because there was a small child running around but that really didn't matter to me. My room was very clean and there were a few things that bothered me but not enough to be such a huge problem. There was a mark from where someone left the iron on and it burned into the carpet. Also, the toilet became a bit backed up but the front desk was able to take care of that very quickly. Like i said, we just needed a place to sleep and the beds were very comfortable. I don't know how some people like the mattress but they were very firm and it was good for my back. I felt very comfortable. It was quiet, clean and they even had some chairs in between all the rooms for you to sit at and enjoy the view. Unfortunately I didn't wake up in time to have the breakfast but they had a full menu. We will definitely keep this hotel on our list of options when we go back. :) Devamı

The pool is nice. The staff were great. The lobby and breakfast were a lot better than expected. The rooms were definitely sparse, but clean enough. Overall, this was a good value for the price if you don't mind staying in a low-budget, hotel. Very close to everything in Port Aransas.
