Room 7 stunning views over Arthur's seat and a pleasure to wake up to each morning.  Aware that slightly out of town but fantastic restaurants in vicinity and 30/45 min walk or very short /timely bus/ taxi links in to city.  Fantastic service, breakfast choice and very clean, good decor rooms.  Would recommend to friends and family.

I really enjoyed my 2-night stay. Max, Anette and the staff (and house dog/mascot Ceilidh) are extremely warm, friendly and thoughtful, and ideal boutique hotel operators. They always made time to chat, were very accommodating, and offered great suggestions about restaurants, walks and sights to try. The rooms were clean, comfortable, cozy and well […] appointed. And the cooked to order complimentary breakfast was delicious. The hotel is located in a pleasant, quiet residential area a short bus ride or walk to City Centre (about 1 1/2 miles). I particularly enjoyed the lovely to City Centre walk during my stay, Overall, highly recommended! And I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Edinburgh! Devamı

A very comfortable, friendly place to stay with good food and a warm welcome from all, including Ceilidh the family's retriever! So much nicer to stay at a family run hotel like this than in one of the impersonal chain hotels! It's a little way out of town but well served by buses or a pleasant 30 minute walk to the centre. Arthur's seat and Holyrood […] Park are close by. There are plenty of good places to eat nearby - so no need to go into town in the evening if you don't want to. We will certainly stay here again! My partner and i chose this hotel because of its location near to the city centre and the great reviews it had received.We were not disappointed,we arrived 2/3 hours before the check-in time,but this was not a problem because our room had already been cleaned and we were allowed up there to drop off our cases and have a freshen up. Access to the city […] centre could not be easier,3 or 4 buses an hour! And all for £3.20 a day for unlimited travel.The breakfasts were awesome and i recommend the full scottish breakfast with haggis and black pudding. All in all a lovely stay in a quiet,conveniant location and we will certainly stay there again on our next visit to the city. Devamı

I really liked the attention to details in this hotel, which was beyond what you expect in this price level. The room was equipped with a modern radio alarm clock / iPod charger. The were in addition to shampoo and soap also hair conditioner and body lotion, and some makeup removal pads. The tea/coffee tray also had a small bottle of mineral water, […] replaced daily, and hot chocolate power. You get the picture, I hope. There's a computer in the lobby with a printer and they are both free to use. The hotel wifi is also free to use. It didn't work very well in my room, but they will give you a network cable so you can use wired network. On arrival you are given a very useful map of the city centre and the hotel area, with many restaurants, pubs and other useful amenities marked on it. The main minus of the hotel might be that it isn't located within a walking distance from Edinburgh attractions. You need to take a bus. The bus stop is really close, the buses are quite frequent (5 minutes wait on average?), and the drive is not long (15 minutes?). In a very large city this would be nothing to think of, but Ediburgh is very compact, and some people might prefer to pay more to be within walking distance of the centre. Devamı

While the location might not be close to all the sights, an easy bus ride makes this hotel excellent value. The staff was very helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable. Good bang for the buck...would recommend this hotel.

Very cosy and nicely maintained little Hotel, fairly close to the city center. Breakfast was included and very tasty, free internet connection and even a printer available for the guests available. Definitively a good choice also in regards to the price.

The hotel is professionally run and the detailed handout on the facilities nearby is a great help to a first timer. The personal touch from Max is well appreciated.

Very pleasant top-end B&B close to the university and close enough to the city centre. Excellant value for money.

I arrived late at night, hotel owner was very friendly and helpfull. I had to leave at 3.30am and was given a breakfast bag, which really helped keep me going for a few hours. Hotel room was very comfortable and clean and the tea selection was great. I would not hesitate to use this hotel again, its great value for money.

Etter en forveksling med taxisjåføren; han trodde vi mente Hotel Caledonian og ikke Ceilidh-Donia, kom vi oss trygt frem og fikk varm velkomst. Pent og rent rom, hunden til eierne ligger ofte i hallen og er rolig og fin, frokosten er god og med stort utvalg. Beliggenheten er grei, kort gange til busstopp inn mot byen, samt at vi ble grundig instruert […] på hvordan bussystemet fungerte ved ankomst. Strøket er et rolig boligstrøk. Devamı

Este es un muy buen hotel para alojarse en su visita a Edimburgo. Un negocio familiar, que tiene una atmósfera especial. Al entrar en la habitación me di cuenta de que internet no funcionaba en la habitación porque el enchufe de red estaba roto y Alex amablemente me cambio a otra habitación donde pude utilizar el servicio sin problemas. Las habitaciones, […] aunque un poco pequeñas, están muy limpias y bien decoradas y proporcionan una gran calidad de descanso. El desayuno era fantástico. Con una amplia selección y preparado al momento El único inconveniente es la ubicación del hotel, que está un poco apartado de las principales atracciones. Sin embargo, esto se indica en la descripción del hotel, así que no hay sorpresas. Se puede llegar al centro en 10 minutos en autobús o en unos 25 después de una caminata. Devamı

Tilrettelagt for turister og har rikt utvalg turistbrosjyrer og kart i vestibylen - og haggis og black pudding til frokost. Beliggenheten er praktisk hvis du skal på konferranse ved John McIntyre. Hvis du derimot er i byen for å se på festningen så er må du regne med å gå i en halvtime eller ta buss i 25 minutt først.

I recommend this hotel for anyone who's staying at Edinburgh. Quite cheap actually, clean rooms, good breakfast and the staff was very helpful. The location is very good as well. Not too far from the city center, I didn't use the bus nor taxi more than once during my stay. It takes roughly 30mins maybe less to walk to the Royal Mile for example. Nice little hotel only a 15 minutes bus drive from town centre edinburgh with friendly and helpful staff as well as lovely furbished and comfortable rooms. Only the steep stairs will be difficult to handle for old and disabled people. Don't be afraid from the barking dog he's a jolly fool :-)

Lille hyggeligt hotel i et stille og roligt nabolag, men ikke langt fra Centrum (2,5 km) med gode busforbindelser. Der var nogle rigtig gode resturanter i nabolaget. Virkelig god service fra værterne og deres personale, der gjorde alt for at vi følte os hjemme der var rent og pænt over alt. Og den daglige rengøring på vores værelse var i top hver dag.(vi […] havde 9 overnatninger) Så foretrækker man som vi, ikke at bo i larmen fra centrum er dette en perfekt base for et ophold i Edinburg der er en fantastisk by. Das Ceilidh-Donia ist ein ausgesprochen angenehmes, komfortables und schönes Hotel in sehr ruhiger Lage. Wenn man direkt im Zentrum der Altstadt wohnen möchte, sollte man vielleicht ein anderes Hotel wählen, wen aber die 10 Minuten Busfahrt nicht stört, der findet hier ein mehr als sympathisches Hotel etwas abseits vom Touristentrubel.

The hotel room was very comfortable and clean. The service was perfect and the quarter was nice and quiet without any traffic noise. And the hotel is in walking distance from the city centre. And a great breakfast..!! My first stay in Skotland and I will definitely recommend this hotel.

I really, really liked this hotel! The service was so good! She helped me with everything that I needed. When I arrived, she explained everything that you need to know about the town, area, bus, etc. When I left early in the morning, she have made an packed breakfast. This hotel, feels like home!

A 15 minutos en bus del centro (10 en taxi) en una zona tranquila que te permitirá descansar. Desayuno espléndido. Atención y limpieza perfectas. Lo recomiendo. Wifi gratuito.

We arrived midweek late in the evening and stayed for two nights. It turned out the hotel was everything we hoped for; nice hosts, good breakfast and at charming atmosphere. Moreover the quarter is very quiet. I definitely recommend this hotel.
