Beautiful swimming pool and the rooms were very clean.
I was not pleased with the TV in our room. The sound would not turn up to about 2/3 and your maintenance men could not do anything about it. The TV had to be at least 10 years old. I would not be coming back because we were there some years back and you have gone down hill since that stay.

Good hotel. The TV set is old fadioned. and the drawers in the TV furnitures were malfunctioning. Valve in the bathtup leaking, giving you only a short immerse. You have to have a general service to shape up.

"Great staff, great service"
Arrived in need of help with a business transaction. Time was very tight and the staff went out of their way to help me out. Can't say enough good things about the entire staff. Great location as well.
"Older Hotel - needs some maintenance"
The hotel is starting to show signs of age. Rooms were clean, but dated. The pool in the hotel is large and beautiful, but the hot tub has been covered over. We were looking for a hotel convienient to Galveston, but this one was a long way from the interstate, so not as convienient as I would like.
Overall the stay was ok. The TV, bed and pillows was below par. The hotel could be more business friendly with iPhone/iPad support and wireless printing.
The hotel is nice. Not much at a to do omsite though. The rooms should really be updated. The decor is old and they still have tube televisions. Room service is not 24 hours. But restaurants are nearby.
The hotel vending machines were out of service on every floor. The guest rooms are very dated; had an higher expectation of the hotel; what a huge let down.

"Pros and Cons"
Pro: Rooms were clean and quite. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was better than most offered at other hotels. Hotel was a good value. Cons: Room service some days did not replace towels and coffee that were used or consumed. (the front desk was very good about replacing them upon request)

OK now i know we are in the day and age of HDTV and i would say this is the only real draw back to the hotel. The rooms are your normal hotel style rooms, but there is a nice bar downstairs,and a wonderful pool. The free breakfast i had was great not just your bagel and cereal style. "Lovely hotel"
Loved the view and the surroundings. So close to everything. So close to NASA and the boardwalk. The pillows were too flat and was able to feel the feather. I couldn't control the cold air even though we kept it lower than it was suppose to be. The buffet food was ok. Not a lot of selection to choose from. Coffee in he room tasted horrible. Coffee in […] the buffet was ok. Overall the hotel was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the bay and the lighthouse. I would definitely go back if the price is right. Devamı

"Super Great staff; some questionable Policies"
I enjoyed my two day stay with my family and though the hotel staff was way above average. However, I have questions about hotel ownership and some of their policies \ tactics. i.e. I think the grossly mislead about some of the amenities if not an out right lie. No Kayaking, no onsite fishing, no nearby hiking etc. Despite making reservations for […] 4 ( 2 kids) and selecting room with breakfast included, they only give 2 breakfast coupons per room. They wanted me to pay $24 plus tip for breakfast for 2 small kids. Similar for WIFI, despite being told it was included, it was for only one device. Between our laptops, tablets and smartphone I needed 4. It was unbelievable hassle that they took care of but what a waste. In the future I will verify those details in advance before booking. When you are on vacation, you just don't won't the hassles and these items were deliberately hidden in my opinion. Devamı

"South Shore Resort in League City, TX"
Very nice for the money. Beautiful view from our balcony. Overlooked the marina. Walking distance to restaurants and necessity shopping. Only complaint is no refrigerator or microwave in room.
"I'm sure it used to be a nice place."
Like so many hotels these days, this one is tired. The bed was comfortable & the room was clean, but there was a lot of maintenance that was needed. Brighter lightbulbs would have been nice. The included breakfast buffet was good, but basic. The staff was pleasent & they let us check in two hours early. Not bad for the money.
"the good and the bad"
the good: beautiful building, grounds, golf, tennis, pool, etc...staff were very helpful & got us a refrigerator for a minimal charge. the bad: darkest room I've ever stayed in! No microwave or refrigerator in room. Breakfast buffet was complimentary, but not very good. The lack of these basic amenities made our stay uncomfortable.
"Restaurant chef could not be faulted"
The food at this hotel was a fantastic surprise and was absolutely superb. It is such a pity that this hotel lacks a bit of thought and care by the management and the restaurant would benefit from a spring clean. The staff were friendly, helpful, efficient and went the extra mile to make your stay a good one. However our room was painted dark green […] which was awful and did not match the beautiful area that surrounds the hotel. Also the bed matress was covered in a plastic cover which was absolutely horrible and would prevent me recommending this hotel to anyone wanted a comfortable nights sleep. Such a pity that someone can't revamp this place as it has all the possibilites to be fantastic. Overall, apart from the food in the restaurant, not a pleasant experience. Devamı

League City and South Shore Harbour are just far enough from from a crazy weekend like Mardi Gras. Quiet and pretty.

"South Shore Harbour Resort - nice view of the lake"
The view from the hotel is very pretty. Enjoyed sitting in the patio area especially late in the afternoon. I liked the location as it is a short drive to many restaurants and the board walk area. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. But the hotel itself and the rooms are a bit dated. I was also not very happy with the bed... wasn't too comfortable […] to sleep on a mattress that has a plastic cover. I know there is a layer of sheets, but I could still feel it... Devamı

The beds was very low and the TV was very old all over it was ok but not 5 star hotel would not stay there again they need to up date there TV very badly and need higher beds! over all it was ok

My husband and I spent our anniversary at SSHR, and we found it to be GREAT. Service and LOCATION was excellent.
"Great hotel and great price"
The front desk staff was wonderful. We had a great view of the harbor and it was very close to the family. Will definitely recommend to visitors heading to Galveston or Kemah.

We remember when this hotel and resort was built. At that time it was a premier hotel. We may have been expecting too much because of our memory. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was great, but it has serious maintenance issues. Our TV was not plugged in, and we could not get it plugged in. The outlet was iffy. We ususally stay at the Hilton nearby but i saw this deal on hotels.com so I said why not. My wife and 2 year old son enjoy Kemah . This was a quiet hotel and the wait staff at the buffet was very nice. However, the breakfast was not so tasty although it had lots of choices. As far as the room, well, we found a lighter in the trash, burn marks in the […] blankets, the outlet was coming out of the walls that made the light flicker, and my wife was freaked out by the bugs in the tub. The GM apologized and assured us this has never happened before and that they are going through renovations. Well , we'll give it another try maybe next year after the renovations , but for now , we'll go back to the Hilton or Holiday Inn close to Kemah. Its a shame because the location and the people make this a possible good quiet hotel to stay at. It needs work and lots of TLC. ...not to mention an exterminator and an electrician . Devamı
South Shore Harbour needs to change out their TV's and mattress's. I had to go buy a TV so my son could hook up his XBox. The TV was so old we couldn't even get it to an Input Channel. Maintenance came and tried to help but the TV just needs to be updated soon!! We stayed 4 nights there and as anyone knows with a teenage son you need to have XBOX!! […] The mattress was hard. The breakfast in the mornings were great and filling for a complimentary breakfast. Hector at the front desk was amazing and tired very hard to make my stay better. Devamı

"Positive Experience!"
The South Shore Resort and Conference Center was a positive experience for our visit to the Houston area. The setting is lovely, the area is very nice and felt safe. The breakfast served in the morning was excellent! We would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again if in the area!
