Quentin Hotel - Amsterdam

Hotel exceeded my expectations! Close to the train station and right around the corner from plenty of pubs, CAFE'S, and restaurants! Everything else was a short taxi ride/tram ride away and canal tours were conveniently a few steps from the hotel. Only complaint was that the luggage room smelled really bad. This place was good for the money and a 2 star rating. My husband and I were on a 2 week backpacking trip through Europe, Amsterdam was our second stop. The room was small but the bed was right up against a window and raised off the floor so it felt big and was nice. The bathroom was small but we thought we were going to have to share so it was great […] to have a small private bathroom! The location was great, in a cool neighborhood and with a tram that makes going to and from the train station and major sights very easy. great location to Leidesplein area... however, cleanliness of room & bathroom is definitely more than a "maintenance problem" ...we booked this hotel as a 3.7 star ....I don't think so! there are many choices for accommodations in Amsterdam that are far more appealing...

The room was clean and basic. Bed linen changed once in our three day stay. Stairs extremely steep and the lift has been out of action for a year... and we were on the top floor. so not good for us, other guests or the staff. No apology for this or even an offer of a discount. Steps to hotel entrance very steep and narrow steps. Shower awful hot/cold […] and towels used as dams to try to keep ensuite floor dry. No kettle, no tea or coffee. (thankfully had our own travel kettle). One hanger in the small wardrobe. Electronic door card good. Location good. Devamı

On the plus side, the location is convenient, about a block off from the Rhine river (no river view), and right near the main shopping area. Also, within walking distance of many small attractions such as the castle and the aquarium. They have parking in back of the hotel at no extra charge which was a plus. The breakfast spread is good and includes […] fresh fruit cut up daily, a variety of cereal, rolls and sliced meats and cheese. Better than I expected. On the minus side, the shower swings from hot to cold constantly, no matter what time of day, which takes a bit of tolerance. Also I tried having breakfast near the window in their small 20 seat dining room. No one else was there when I arrived (nor there while I had breakfast) yet I was told I couldn't sit by the window and was usherd to the corner tables. I'll never understand what her problem was. So note to single travelers, don't try to sit by the window and eat breakfast. Devamı

The postive points were hotel location, which is in the heart of the city, and very friendly staff, whiich is pricelss. The negative points are: room size is less than small! It was realy a private cell! No elevator, not any facility in the room, extra deposit for hair drier and TV remote (will be return in check out), no phone in the rooms, NO Internet, […] It is a clear lie in their promotion!! It was dawn when I arrived and was less than dawn when I left!! The worst thing eas very very dangerous steps! It might be a clear risk for senior or even young travellers (seems it is a credit in the Netherlands!). It was a kind of ladder instead of steps! In my country it is the case of compliance order, and must be changed ASAP!! I said that as a certified health and safety officer. Ther rate is not match with the service,, If they got me 20 Euro per day it might be reasonable to stay here... But not for this price for sure .. I got a great experience that when I am not sure about a hotel it will be better to pay a little more and being comfort and safe. Devamı

The location was great. The elevator was not working and the stairs were very steep to walk up especially with luggage. The wifi was not working either, they wanted me to walk to their sister hotel to use the internet. there was hotel renovation that was going on. Maybe a better experience if elevator was working. Lift did not work and we had to walk 5 flights of extremely steep stairs which were not to Standards and the handrails were also loose. On booking it said we had free Wi-fi in rooms. It did not work at all, not even in the lobby. Ideal if you just need a bed and not spending time in the room.

This hotel is 2 blocks away from Leiseplein. There is a canal stop a block away. Fabulous location!!! The room was insanely small! The bed was a fine size, but it was pushed all the way to the back of the room and it touched all 3 walls. The remaining part of the room could MAYBE have fit another bed - that was the room. The staircase was a bit of a death trap. it is a curving staircase that is really narrow and SUPER steep - you kind of feel like you are scaling a mountain climbing those - especially with your luggage. Well, first thing let's just mention the stairs. They are very steep and semi-circular. If you are the type of person who has to go back to the room four or five times a day, make sure to get a room on the first floor. But if you approach the stairs like it is a very easy to climb ladder, then they are not so bad. The room was clean and neat when I arrived and although there is no A-C was fresh and cool with cross-ventilation. Outside was the view of the canal and a stop for several canal boat services, one of which allows you to get on (first boat was 10:30 AM) and ride all day, getting off and on at your leisure. You can change to several other boats that cover practically every canal in the city. It's a great way to museum hop (or bar hop). Things are somewhat quiet at night outside around the Quentin, but right around the corner is the area known as Leidseplein, one of the hippest parts of town. It's a big square that is beautiful and bustling with activity day and night. Dozens of great restaurants, shops and bars. Several nice coffee places that are friendly and lively. The people in Amsterdam, (especially in the area around the Quentin) are so friendly that it really seems to be the safest place on earth. Also it should be noted that the hotel is about as far away from the infamous red-light district as you can get and still be in Amsterdam. If you're going there for the hookers you might find it inconvenient. At Leidesplein you can also hop on a trolley that will take you anywhere in town. Amsterdam is a city of bikes. Lots of visitors rent them, and as there are few hills in Amsterdam practically anyone can manage it. The staff at the Quentin was very friendly and helpful. The hotel does not offer a lot of services, but you know that going in. There is no room service but the desk does stock a cooler of beverages. It is a clean, comfortable place to cra Devamı

Exactly what we expected at a great price. The room was small (as expected in the Netherlands) but clean and in a convenient location. Just around the corner from the Leidseplein square so it wasn't loud at night but walking distance to some great sights. Hotel staff was nice, helpful and spoke great english. They even let us use their front desk […] phone to make a few local calls for free (all the payphones in Amsterdam seem to be broken). Our only concern: paper thin walls. Over all, I would consider this hotel to be good enough for the price that I paid for it. the room was small, but clean. The bathroom was small but also clean. I have OCD about the cleaness of a hotel or room. and I thought the Bathroom and Bedroom was up to my standards. The hotel staff was helpful and nice. The only complaint I have about this hotel […] is the fact that their WIFI is broken for the three days that I was there. The stairs was an unique experience, It was steep, but I felt that it contributed to the european experience. That's just my opinion of course. With regards to travel, It is closely located near the tram stations, you have the option of taking the number 5 or 2 train, if I remember correctly to get to the city center. 共同設備のシャワーはトイレの脇で仕切りカーテンもなく、シャワーとは言えない。 ただし、ライツェ広場には近くアクセス拠点としては良い。

Hotellet er et et typisk 2-stjerners hotell, med et bittelite rom; kun plass til en dobbeltseng, en liten gang og et lite, men rent toilett. Helt greit for et kort opphold, hvor man hovedsaklig skal befinne seg ut, men neppe egnet for barnefamilier - også pga manglendeheis og ekstremt bratt trapp. Det positive var hyggelig betjening og at det var veldig […] fredelig utenfor, til tross for at det kun lå få minutter fra folksomt område. Este hotel é a maior furada, só salva a localização. Quem insistir em reservar um quarto terá que subir escadas imensas com a bagagem nas costas, pois não tem elevador disponivel. Os quartos são apertados e o valor das diárias não compensa nem um pouco. Procurem outros por perto que certamente são melhores.

El hotel está muy situado en el centro de Amsterdam a 3 manzanas de los museos y frente a un canal. Las habitaciones son minúsculas sin salida al exterior y sin aire acondicionado por lo que hace mucho calor. El WI FI no funciona y no hay ascensor (tiene 3 pisos el hotel) No volvería.

Côté positif: très bien situé dans la cœur d'Amsterdam, propre, sympa, pas cher, salle de bains privée. Côté négatif: chambre dans le 4ème étage sans ascenseur, escaliers très étroits (même pour un vieux bâtiment), chambre très petite (il n'y pas beaucoup de place pour poser ses affaires), linge propre mais avec des trous, l'eau déborde dans la salle […] de bains quand on prend une douche. Je le recommande uniquement pour les personnes peu exigeantes par rapport au confort. Devamı

The room and the bed was incredible small and a little bit dirty.

Hotel velho, quarto muito pequeno, pessimo serviço de quarto e muita sujeira nos quartos e areas comuns. Não possue elevador e sua escada é muito apertada, quase impossível de subir e descer com as malas. Embora possua uma excelente localização não vale a pena.
