Aria Hotel Canberra - Dickson

We live close to Canberra nad stayed at the hotel out of necessity because of work being done to our home. That said, I think we found a little treasure. The hotel is new and the staff are very friendly. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the top floor. It was quiet inside because of double glazing and there was reverse cycle air con to warm or […] cool in the crazy Autum Canberra climate. it is affiliated with the neighbour Pavillion Hotel, and we did visit the cafe and bar, but not the gym and pool facilities available. The whole complex was fenced for security and there was ample secure free underground parking. it is a short walk to little Chinatown in Dickson which has bars and restaurants and a short bus ride into the city. If I were a visitor to Canberra, I would definitely stay here again. Devamı

Over the weekend of our 5 night stay, one bedroom was not serviced at all on one day and towels not provided on both days. Towel problem quickly rectified when reported. Kitchen very adequate but crockery/cutlery is 4 only of everything so no allowance for the odd extra fork or plate one may need. Good rooms, clean, modern and quiet. I usually get a high floor but found myself on the first floor above the reception desk and near the road. When I asked about an alternative room I was told that the hotel was full. Win some loose some!!!!

A great little hotel close to Dickson where there are many restaurants. good size rooms, very comfortable and very clean. would recommend to anyone looking for quality accom in Canberra.

Went to see a couple of exhibitions in Canberra and chose this new-ish hotel. Very quiet, very clean and great contemporary decor - we had all we needed for a short overnight stay.

Would recommend this hotel thoroughly to others, the hotel was exceptionally clean, and then staff were very helpful. The free shuttle bus into the town centre is a very good idea. We found our stay to be very good value for money.

i was discouraged by the fact the there were no signs directing to the restaurante. i gave up and went out to have breakfast

This hotel still feels very 'new' - everything clean and sparkling. Was great for me as was near the places I needed to be - though if you're visiting Canberra - it's a bit far out of the city for walking etc. Only downsides - the wireless in the room was absolutely useless, which at $20 for 24 hours - is unforgiveable and also the hotel is heated to […] a ridiculous temperature - it was boiling! Such a nice hotel, but let down by several minor irritants. New, comfortable, big, well-equipped and quiet rooms BUT we never could figure out the TV / in-house movie system; the bedroom storage space was poorly designed; using the kitchen appliances required pouring over various manuals for an hour; the hotel operator never could work out how to put […] thru a telephone call to the room; and the advertised wireless internet service not only cost $20 a day but was incompatible with iPhones / iPads so was unusable for us. A year from now when all the bugs are sorted out this could be a 5 star place Devamı

One bedroom apartment - came as advertised with full kitchen and washer/dryer - very handy for a long-term stay. Cleaning staff kept the room clean, but front office staff ranged from midly pleasant to completely disinterested, leaning towards the latter. All of the typical hotel amenities (e.g. restaurant, gym, pool) are in the 'parent' Pavilion hotel; […] have to walk across a parking lot to access it(definitely not convenient when it rains). Room service consists of a limited subset of the restaurant menu, so having a kitchen to cook for yourself becomes crucial - especially since the nearest restaurants are 1.2 km (.8 miles) away. The hotel is situated in a predominately residential neighborhood, over 3 km (1.8 miles) away from City Centre - imperative that you have access to a car, as there is only sporadic mass transit (i.e bus) and taxis are extremely expensive in Canberra. Business travellers and tourists who cannot, or do not intend to, drive should avoid this hotel; thsoe who are driving will find the hotel convenient to City Centre, the War Memorial and the Dickson shopping district (where a wide range of restaurants - especially Pacific Rim cuisine - are situated).
