Highlander B&B - Inverness

nothing that bad, but the conditions of the B&B are not the best you cand find, moreover is a bit far from the city center

My wife and i were told when we reached the Highlander b&b that our room was flooded but they had a room in another house we could stay in. The room they gave us had no en-suite and was on the top floor of the house. NOT suitable as my wife is very heavily pregnant, so making her go down 2 flights of stairs to the shared toilet is quite frankly a disgrace. […] We complained and decided not to stay and luckily found a lovely hotel along the road who were most kind to us. The only thing that satisfied me about this fiasco was the promptness of the refund!!! Devamı

This Hotel was not up to any reasonable standard and certainly not what we expected. The room we were offered was in a dingy basement with a small window looking out on a wall! We were then offered another room that smelt and where you couldn't swing a cat and was not en-suite. We decided not to stay. Having paid for three nights in advance, I agreed […] to pay the first night with a refund being given on my card for the other 2 nights - 7 days later I have still not received the refund! I would advise you NOT to stay here - there are plenty of much better B&Bs on the south side of the river at the same price. Devamı

The staff was really friendly and accommodating. We arrived one hour early but they checked us in anyway. The rooms are clean although small. The breakfast was excellent and they give you an option of Continental Breakfast or Scottish Breakfast. We chose the Scottish Breakfast which consisted of sausages, egg, toast, and tomatoes but was still able […] to help ourselves with the Continental. The staff also went out of their way to pack us a breakfast one day when we had to leave really early for a tour and couldn't make breakfast which was between 8 AM and 10 AM. Excellent location. The B&B was really close to public transportation but beware if you do not plan on taking a taxi from the bus or train station. The hotel is located on top of the hill so there are a lot of steps to climb from the street. The Market Brae Steps or the other side street steps are very hard to climb especially if you have luggages. Overall, this is a very nice B&B that exceeded our expectations. The only good thing about this hotel was location. Just outside of main thorouhfare but close enough to be in the centre with a 5 min walk. Check in was rudely done, insinuations directed to us first thing in the morning very rudely put over and avoid this place or stay at your peril

This "B&B" is more like a tiny hostel rather than a person's home. Cramped, tiny hallways lead to a cramped, tiny room with barely any space. Sheets were clearly not changed, everything felt dirty, there was a hair on the shower floor -- gross overall. "Breakfast" was yoghurt, fruit and bread... hardly the full Scottish bkfst you get at most B&Bs in […] Scotland... and was served in a shoddy looking common room which also serves as the proprietor's office. Speaking of which, the proprietor was rude and brusque. She was polish/russian and needed everything repeated to her, and barked at us whenever we had a question. I think she meant well, but she had absolutely no tact or politeness. Thank goodness we were only there one night - we skipped "breakfast," didn't use the shower, and kept our clothes on while laying in the unclean bed: who knows what was in those sheets before us?! All in all, not at all the ambience of a regular B&B with a warm and inviting host family, comfortable room and nice breakfast. This place is basically a hostel. Oh, it's also a 10-min walk from the heart of Inverness - not a big deal, but in a town full of hotels, there are at least 30 other hotel/B&Bs closer to the river and city center. Devamı

Fick en bra första intryck. Vi tycktedet var lite konstigt att behöva boka när vi ville äta frukost dagen efter. Vi satt oss i matsalen dagen efter kl0755. Vi hade bokat frukost till kl8. Värdinnan blev jättesur på oss att vi hade satt oss 5 minuter för tidig fast det var inga andra gäster i matsalen. Vi försökte få ett svar från henne, men hon vände […] ryggen och gick tillbaks till köket och var grining med oss under resten av vår vistelse. Devamı
