Vila Ombak Hotel - Gili Trawangan

Rediculously overpriced and terrible service. I had booked two nights in a beachfront lumbung cottage, upon arrival we were taken to a villa somewhere at the back-end of the resort. After telling the guy who took us there that this wasn't what we booked he made a phone call and told us we had been 'upgraded'. This was no upgrade in my mind and as nothing […] had been communicated to us we complained and demanded the room we had booked. The 'manager' was called and after waiting for about half an hour a guy walked in, didn’t announce himself to us, only spoke to us after 10 mins and said our booked room had a faulty airco unit but that was all fine now. Whilst taking us to the room he told me about the 'free perks' he had arranged for me, all of which had been listed as included in the room when I booked so I don't know who he thought he was kidding. After half an hour in the room the airco started leaking heavily so we had to call maintenance to fix it which, again, took about an hour. The staff/management did nothing to make amends for the mistakes they made and faulty rooms. The place only has salt-water showers, something that should be made very clear beforehand. The lumbung cottage was not worth the money. The service was terrible and you're treated like a number: you have to check in and out every time you want to use a pool towel and the breakfast buffet was disgusting. I was very impressed with the staff in this hotel, they are very friendly and attentive and we loved the fact we could walk around the perimeter of the Island in around one and a half hours.Over all we had a very pleasant and relaxing holiday and hope to return to this hotel soon.

Great hotel , nice rooms and friendly staff. Wifi works around hotel but not in rooms. Cold water shower but outside showers :) spa treatment one of the best, location amazing! Recommend it!

Wonderful location and very helpful hotel staff. The Hotel has its own speed boat service and berthing which takes away all the hassles of public boats. We enjoyed our stay very much and regretted we did not stay over one more day. Highly recommended to our friends and colleagues if they visit Gilli Trawangan.

We stayed 2 nights and had a lovely time. I didnt realise the room was so far back as I would have requested one maybe a little closer to beach. But then it can be Very noisy close to the beach with parties etc so it was all fine. Breakfast was great but a little busy so had to wait a long time for a cuppa.

Hotel has not been maintained and looks nothing like the pictures on the website. Food and drinks are expensive. The showers use salty water. There were ants and bugs in our bed, we woke up everyday with bites all over us. Air conditioning was not clean and too cold.

Absolutely the best place in Gili Trawangan at the moment. Friendly staff, nice villas, big pool, fantastic beach and delightful breakfast. All in all - almost perfect. Notice that the rooms where not completely clean and the water in your bathroom will be salty-water. Our stay in Villa Ombak Hotel in Lombok was a very unpleasant experience. The room is big but just doesn't have that comfortable feeling when you are in there. The toilet is the worse. It's a open air concept at the back of the villa. The toilet seat is old and dirty looking with some yellow and black patches. When the night comes, the whole bathing […] and toilet area is dark and invented by mosquitoes as the lights are just too dim. Furthermore, as it is located in the island of Gilli Trawangan which doesn't have fresh water resource, the hotel uses sea water as the main water supply for shower. Nice idea, but little small rooms. not a big thing. comparing price and rooms is not same. too expensive on what you will get. breakfast was good. and pools also.

5 star experience here and great service. From the minute you walk in and they hand a free mixed juice drink to the moment they called us a pony taxi....great service. Also, has probably the highest rated and best staffed Scuba diving set up. I can't speak to other diving groups but these guys seemed first class. You can probably find cheaper places […] and when bargaining for prices at stores I wouldnt say you stay here (lets them know you have resort money) but its a great place to stay and wind down. huge resort, they have all the amenities you need. located right on the main strip of Gili, everything near by. Breakfast selection was incredible. Would definitely stay there again.

good hotel - nothing special but nice... just beware that the beaches on gili are full of broken coral, there aren't any stretches with pure white sands like the photos (well there is a 15m stretch - hence the photos!) still enjoyed the snorkelling and relaxing

Hotel is getting old and rooms need to be refurbished. Stairs are an hazard, food was mediocre and drinks, activities (boat or snorkel equipment, bikes...) are overpriced) . Hotel Vila Ombok was a fantastic, modern hotel with great amenities, food etc - but it still holds onto the small island charm. We stayed there on our honeymoon in an oceanview suite and we were very impressed, and would have no problem recommending it!

Nice hotel on Gili, close to everything.The cleaning could have been better and the aircondion did not work 100% so that was the small minus.Nice restaurants very close.Very good dining school at the hotel.All in all a very nice place to stay

Hotel très propre, bien situé avec une belle plage. Piscine super sympa, le personnel est tres serviable ... La salle de bain est assez impressionnante par sa taille immense !!! Par contre il vaut mieux marcher 5 minutes en direction du centre pour manger et boire un verre ( un peu moins chère ... My friend and I enjoyed 3 days at Villa Ombak and the only regret was going home too soon. The room was nice and clean and we were provided with bugspray to ensure mosquitos free bedroom. Great service, 2 saltwater pools, delicious breakfast buffet included and right by the beach. I recommend anyone to visit Gilli Trawangan and stay at Villa Ombak.

The whole hotel area and rooms were very nice. But we were disappointed with the breakfast which was unfresh, the Internet access which was promised did not work at all and the service was not as good as we were expecting. Great pool area.

Vila Ombak Hotel on erittäin viihtyisä sekä hotelli alueeltaan ja ympäristöltään ja on sijainniltaan erinomaisessa paikassa sekä ravintoloiden ja palveluiden osalta että rauhallisen biitsin jatkuessa itäosaan saarta. Lisäksi Hotellin eteen pääsee veneellä suoraan nousuveden aikaan, mikäli saapuu Lombokin saarelta yksityisveneellä. Hotellin allas ansaistsee […] allasbaareineen ja aurkinkotuoleineen erityismaininnan. Lisäsksi hiekkarannalle sijoittuva puoliksi katettu terassiravintololassa oli hienoa ruokailla ranta-aallokon pauhutessa muutaman metrin päässä. Kiitosta saa myös hotellialueella sijaitseva lääkäriklinikka, jonka palvelun arvostelen todella korkealle. Trawanganin saarella on pulaa makeasta vedestä, joten suihkuista tulee pääasiassa suolasta vettä ja erillisestä hanasta makeaa vettä suolaveden huuhtelemiseksi. Tästä pienoinen miinus mutta ymmärrettäköön saaren sijainnin ja pienen koon vuoksi. Huone oli muuten viihtyisä ja taso ok. Devamı

Hôtel sympathique, bien situé, avec du personnel très agréable, mais qui mériterait un rafraîchissement. Les photos ne sont pas tout à fait représentatives de l'hôtel et du coup, on peut être un peu déçu en arrivant. Nourriture à l'hôtel correcte, sans plus, mais l'hôtel est juste à côté de nombreux autres restaurants (et du marché de nuit) où l'on […] peut manger à coût moindre. Har her boet der første gang lige da det blev opført og nu igen 2012 , men selv om det er blevet udvidet og meget større er det stadigvæk suverænt og ligger på første parket til vandet , super restaurant .

Vila Ombak is one of the few nice places that Gili Trawangen has to offer and the "villas" are well positioned in a beautiful peaceful garden. Besides the hotel area and watersport there is not much to do as this island is still largely focused on backpackers and partying (with all the negative that is involved). Hotel heeft een goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Kamers zijn basis, maar netjes en schoon. We hadden wel gelezen, dat je er op moet passen voor diefstal uit de kamers. Vooral de laatste nacht, want dan is aangifte niet meer mogelijk. Jammer genoeg werd dit bij ons ook de waarheid en stond er rond middernacht iemand aan onze voordeur te rommelen. バスルームが屋外で、シャワーも海水です。 一般的なホテルとしての設備は整ってないですが、 プール、レストラン、バーもあるので 滞在は楽しめると思います。 島自体がそんなに発展していないので、 かえって雰囲気を感じることができ、 個人的には良かったです。 また行きたいと思える場所です。

Gili och Vila Ombak var underbara. Vi njöt varje sekund som vi var där. Har svårt att komma på något negativt, frukosten är riktigt bra med en underbar utsikt vid stranden.

Hotellområdet var väldigt fint och välskött. Rummet var kanon och städat varje dag. Hotellet kan behöva en lite uppfräschning snart eftersom man ser att poolområdet börjar bli lite slitet, men det är inget som stör! Poolen var underbar och poolbaren var perfekt! Perfekt för barnfamiljer!

Die Hotelanlage Vila Ombak gehört definitiv zu den besten und luxuriösesten Hotels auf Gili Trawangan. Perfekte Lage, nur durch die kleine Strasse vom Meer getrennt. 2 einzigen ATM's der Insel direkt vor dem Hotel. Wir hatten die Kategorie "Superior Hut" gebucht. Schönes Outdoorbad!! Allerdings für ältere Leute evtl. nicht so empfehlenswert, schmale […] Holztreppe führt vom 2. Stock (Schlaf/Wohnbereich) runter zum Bad. Schöner 3 Ebenen Pool mit Wasserfall etc. - einziges auszusetzen: Fließen könnten mal wieder gestrichen werden. Tolles Strandrestaurant mit schnellem, guten Service und super leckeren Essen zu fairen Preisen. Für uns das perfekte Hotel auf Gili Trawangan und wür würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!!! Devamı
