Victorian Rose Garden - Algonquin

We stayed 3 nights, which meant three wonderful breakfasts...we're still dieting! The location was perfect for the "family" event we attending, but it was convenient for travel into Chicago, as well. Great home that has become a bed and breakfast, carefully restored by its owner. Would surely stay again. Thank you for a great visit.

This was our second stay here. A lovely home, all rooms upstairs. Sherry is a gracious host and great cook. There are several nice restaurants in walking distance that makes this a great place for a get-away. Long Grove is nearby, unique shops.

Generally nice B&B, but a bit fussy--take your shoes off before entering sort of place. Friendly hostess, decent breakfasts but quite a bit of pressure to eat later. Room was decent, though putting three modern people in a full size and a single bed is a bit tight. Location is fine--walking distance to downtown Algonquin and the local rail trail. Comfortable, attractive, appealing, restful and enjoyable. Marvelous attention to details necessary to make the stay pleasant enough to want to spend time enjoying and exploring the property. This was my first time staying in the Bed and Breakfast hotel. It was eveything I expected. The facilities were charming and the owner, Sherry, was extremely hospitable. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast portion of the stay. Sleep seemed more important than breakfast at the time. But judging by the smell of the morning coffee, breakfast must […] have been wonderful. I would recomend asking if the bathroom towels have been recently washed. Ours smelled a little of mildew.
