Merlin Beach Resort - Kathu

Our stay at Merlin Beach Resort was just great, Quiet, away from every thing, a curtsey bus ride into town, such a big place. Pools (3) were lovely, the private beach beautiful, the restraint up the hill with it's views was great. The spa was GREAT we had a fantastic body & facial pack.

The Merlin Beach Resort is a complete getaway. Its slightly out of the way location and the fact that it has everything possibly required makes it easy to get lost in. The staff were great and so were the facilities. The only bad point is the beach, at low tide its near impossible to go swimming due to the rocks and bleached coral. Perfection. Staff strived to be friendly, helpful and courteous. Drinks on arrival, early check-in (no questions asked), huge room. Massive pools - three of them - meant you never felt crowed. Breakfast was good. Private beach added to the whole experience too. Loved it.

The staff are all friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much for them. The grounds are maintained beautifully. The rooms are clean and tidy ( cleaned everyday if you want). The restaurants are delicious. 3 massive pools and a swim up bar... was fantastic. well priced too. Would defiantly go back.

Fantastic, second time there. Complimentary bus times from hotel have changed, so you can end up having to get a taxi back, (which costs you around 250 baht, so it won't break the bank). Overall, very happy, aside from spending bucketloads of baht on accomodation, then being charged 60 baht at the end of the stay for a broken ashtray.. Brekky buffet […] is fantastic, staff very friendly and helpful, and would recommend this venue to anyone wanting a great getaway. This hotel is great if you don't need the city hubbub at your door step as it is about a 10 minute taxi ride into town. This hotel has everything you need, with three beautiful pools. We opted to upgrade once we arrived to a pool access room which affords you the ability to walk out your of your room and into the pool. Very nice for couples. Overall stay was comfortable and pleasant. Facilities were good. Staff did not have a good command of English language and it was difficult to communicate. Methane smell in grounds made trip uncomfortable.

Being Australian I knew several people who had stayed at this resort before and it came highly recommended. The pool can get a little crowded but if you switch sides you can always find a lounge chair to use. Having to sign for everything you buy can get a bit annoying particularly when the item is small but at least I guess it is a safeguard against […] someone else charging your room. I was presented with all of my "dockets" on checkout. Having so many Australians around at the resort was also a positive, I was never worried that any of my things would get stolen. This is a family orientated hotel so expect to be woken up early - either by shreiking children in the pool or your housekeeping which pretty much want to clean your room at 9-9.30am. The hotel is absolutely dead after 10pm the last place open is the lounge bar which shuts at 11pm. The room was very comfortable and had all of the modern conveniences. All of the buffets were good (offered 3 evenings a week). The Thai buffet was particularly good. The Chang Thai restaurant had the best food and service out of all of the restaurants - most likely as it was not regularly frequented - most hotel guests did not seem too keen on eating Thai food. If you are looking for a holiday where you just want to laze around the pool and not much more the Merlin Beach Resort is for you.. Its away from the hustle and bustle of Patong which is a good thing but there isnt anything to do in the surrounding area. There is a courtesy bus that will take you into the city at different times but if l stayed there […] more than the 3 days l booked for l would have gone crazy. Breakfast was good with a wide range to choose from but l didnt find the staff as attentive as they should have been. The Little Tiger restaurant on the hill just to the left of the resort is fantastic and would highly recommend it. The massage place underneath it was pretty good too..they might be little but boy have they got strong hands. Rooms were very clean,huge beds and lovely bathroom. The set up with all of the electricals managed one unit next to your bed was quite a novelty as was the t.v. We were there in the "low season" - June. The hotel easily catered for the number of people there, has stunning pools #including a swim up bar in 1#, a free shuttle bus into Patong or Phuket #at set times# and reasonable prices. It was nice being out of Patong township as it is much quieter and provides a sanctuary from the chaos of Patong. It is close […] enough that you don't feel like it is a major trek to go into town if you want. Their happy #2 hours# provides cheap cocktails for either the end of a day or the start of a nice night #6-8pm#. All in all a great place with beautiful views and a good location. Its a great resort, have everything you need. It was a bit of a pain having to get a taxi back from Patong every time, but it worth it. We also got married there which was beautiful, on the beach. We found this hotel to be all that it stated on it's web site. It had all the facilities that anyone one could ask for (loved the swim-up bar). However, I never realised that it was so far from other shops, restaurants etc. The hotel did offer a shuttle bus, which was great but could add more times to it's timetable. The shuttle bus it was a bit outmoded […] for a hotel of this standard. I couldn't fault the room standard (deluxe beach view) very clean, fairly spacious and all amenities. Disapponited that the hotel did not offer free wifi as we experienced in Bangkok hotels, internet costs we a little high for Thailand. But saying all this, if you're looking for a relaxing hotel with the mod-cons this is a ideal place. Devamı

Hi all, This was my 3rd visit to Melin Beach and it will be my last. My veiw is that the resort has lost its spark. Most of the the staff are just doing there job and that's it. Rooms had a musty smell to them which you couldnt get rid of. Everybody that stayed at the resort finished up with a cough and a cold, probably transferred through the air conditioning. The pool is great and the breakfast buffet was very satisfying. The location is a bit out of the way, but they do have a shuttle bus that takes you to Patong. Cab rides are about 200 Baht each. The beach was inaccessible when we were there. The room was nice and the bathroom was very spacious

私は女友達とふたりで5泊しました。 ホテルは繁華街から離れた静かなところにあり、 プライベートビーチになっていて、海がとくに きれいでした。ただ、岩や珊瑚があり、泳ぐのは的して ないようでした。 優しい日本人スタッフさんも1人はいて、心強い！ プールは最高！大きいくて、真ん中にBARまである。 また泊まりたいホテルです！

街の喧騒から少し離れたところにあるのでホテル内は静かで穏やかな雰囲気でした。 夜は海岸側に春節用のバンド演奏があり10時ごろまで聞こえてきました。 室内は広々としていて、バスルームにも窓があり開放的でリゾートらしい作りでよかったです。 食事はホテル内の割にはお値打ち感がありました。 シャトルバスでパトンへ出かけれたので便利でしたが、帰りの便が30分遅れで心配しました。 モーニングも8時から営業するはずがスタッフの時計は7時45分だったり？？ 時間にはのんびりしている感じでした。
