Muir Lodge Motel - Martinez

I don't need fancy, so take that into account. The room was clean, nice bathroom & great shower. Room was quite presentable, furniture a bit worn, but who cares?! 2 big easy chairs. Loved having fridge and microwave in room. Easy walk to Safeway & Walgreens. Spent all day apartment-hunting, so just got cereal & milk, yogurt & fruit, & a rotisserie chicken […] & frozen veg from Safeway & my meals were taken care of. Owner takes great care of beautiful rose bushes. Went to visit John Muir National site: easy walk down the street. Can't speak to upkeep, cuz I put out the do not disturb sign for my stay & just caught the maid on the way out in the morning to get re-supplied with coffee, which tasted pretty good. Devamı

Clean, convenient and inexpensive, Ideal if all you need is a bed, a shower and ESPN.

Good place to stay.

This is not a fancy place ny any means, but the bed was very comfortable. Since it was just me and I was just using the room to sleep in, it was OK. However I would not take my wife there.

The rooms are clean and seem like they are kept renovated considering how old the lodge is. Fridge and Microwave is nice to have in the room. They also have the TVs open so you can hook up outside equipment like a dvd/blu-ray player or game console. Nice to have. Downsides - - The lodge really needs to invest in upgrading to HDTVs. All the rooms still […] have really old SDTVs. - The walls seem pretty thin. We could hear our neighbors pretty well. - Housekeeping did a pretty good job cleaning up the room, but didn't restock coffee everyday. Probably need to pay more attention to that. - One of the reason we picked this hotel was b/c it said we could get a crib. When we asked about it they said they didn't have one. They need to either get one, or update their info on hotels.com. My 19 month old ended up sleeping in bed with us the entire week. Overall It was fine for the price and in a really convenient spot. A great surprise for the price! Extremely clean and thoughtfully furnished. The shower is particularly nice. The pool is not really usable; being next to a busy 4 lane expressway. It is also easy to get to hospitals and other points north and south; the highway exits being 2 blocks away. Nice, affordable stay.

I was in town for 2 days/2 nights on business on my own dime and was looking for something clean, comfortable and with internet access. The only downside was noise from Alhambra Ave, but it is a motor lodge with doors opening to the street, so that was to be expected. Otherwise, the motel fit the bill and was a very good value.

I would not have stayed here at the list price, $85-125. Towels thin & small, 2 little sweet rolls with the coffee machine instead of a continental breakfast. Bed comfortable.
