Surf Club Hotel - Vero Beach

Front desk clerk was not very hospitable upon check in, however they did let us check in early at no extra cost. Hotel was very close to a variety of restaurants and shops. Hotel pictures showed a nice pier, however when we arrived we found that the pier belonged to another hotel and was unavailable to other hotel guests. The hotel was older and certainly needed a little TLC but the rooms were clean, the bed comfortable and the staff very nice. Can't beat the location and surrounding restaurants and places to play were lots of fun.

This hotel is in dire need of TLC. Upon arriving at the hotel it was very obvious that it needed a paint job. Everything was very worn and old. When we got to our room we were missing a blow dryer, iron/ironing board, shampoo/conditoner, and 2 lightbulbs..Never had all that happen before! All of the furniture and sheets were very outdated. The pool […] had a really ugly green tint to it and I never would have even dreamed of putting my feet in it! The only good thing about this place is that it is extremely easy access to the ocean and the owner was a very nice man. If you can afford to stay somewhere else...do it! Devamı

Hotel was reasonably priced but very basic. Our room was clean and adequate for our needs. This is an old property and I think they are in the process of upgrading it. We only used it as a place to sleep as we had friends in the area. We did not use the pool or eat there. This was intended to be a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary, instead it was one of the worst times ever. The hotel is in horrible shape the rooms are nothing like the pictures on their website. The rooms stink horribly. The front desk personnel were definitely with out any character. Got there rooms were not available, went to get lunch when we got back that we checked in we were given keys to a room that was not even made up yet and was so filthy and smelled like a dead body. My husband had to go back to front office and let them know just to have them say ok then i can give you a double bed room which we specifically had said we want a king bed room. Finally got keys to another room, but unfortunately first impressions are the best. the second room was a bit better but the rooms furniture and everything in it seems like they are over 50 years old. I had read many reviews on the Surf Club Hotel and found it to be a good expericience. Yes it is an older hotel but you can't beat the ocean location. They also accepted our AAA discount and savedanother 12dollars/night. There is a weekend and occasional weekday restaurant that is open evenings.. We had excellent fresh fish prepared for us. We had requested […] a King bed with a roll-away bed. When we arrived they stated they have never offered rollaway beds and have bewen trying to get this option taken off of the hotel web sites. tghey did have a 2-double bed room available. no restaurants within walking distance except for the part time restaurant at the hotel which i would highly recommend. My daughter and son and I stayed Friday and Saturday night. The view from the rooms are awesome. At check in we were offered to move to a poolside 4th floor room and we took it. WOW! the ocean, pool, and view was beautiful. This is not a new, luxury hotel, but it was clean, comfortable and convenient to step right on the beach. LOVED our stay and will […] return. My fiance & I enjoyed the 1 night stay very much. I will consider the Surf Club Hotel for my next stay @ Vero Beach. It was so nice to be right there on the private beach. We enjoyed watching the sun come up in the morning and watching the stars the night before. We even saw 3 falling stars shoot across the sky while we were on the beach. We arrived at midnight and were given the last room available that night. They moved us into a renovated room the next night. They are working on remodeling. It was a great find and we will definitely be back!

For the price in comparison to the other hotels in the area, I really couldn't complain too much. However, my biggest complaint is there website. When we pulled up into the lot I had to look at hotel's website on my phone to make sure we were in the right place. The pictures on the website gave a much more exclusive look to the hotel than the hotel […] itself. In reality the hotel looked like it hadn't had any exterior painting since the 80s and most of the rooms didn't appear to be very updated. The shower in our room was weak and water was warm at best. The bed was hard and we had to request blankets since the bed only had sheets on it. We did have a nice view of the water. We were there during the winter and not many people were on the premises so that made for a quiet stay. One of the biggest disappointments was the pier. They prominently display a pier on their website and I brought all my fishing gear intending to use it. However, once we arrived I discovered that it is a private pier belonging to the condo next door. If your guests can't use the pier REMOVE THE PICTURE FROM YOUR WEBSITE. The area itself is not much if you are looking for nightlife and most of the area restaurants arent' what you'd call affordable. If you need fast food or a grocery store you have to go back to the mainland. It wasn't the worst place I've ever stayed, and the price was right, but I was disappointed at how run down it looked and the misrepresentation regarding the pier. Devamı

Nice location right on the ocean, so got to sleep listening to the surf. A little tired, but It appears to be going though a remodel and would probably cost a lot more if it were spiffed up. I would stay there again.

this was a great location to renew my energies after driving for days on business. my room was quiet and I had a balcony with chairs to watch the surf. I have stayed there once before so I was confident that it was clean and nice. Big Thing....NO BEDBUGS I will definatly stay there again the staff is very good in the few things we needed and the view is great. Terry K

Nice & quiet...could hear the surf even in hotel rm. Too cold to swim when we were there but lots of beach area to walk. Water flow from shower weak & microwave didn't work.

This hotel has a wonderful location, right on the beach. Unfortunately the entire hotel is in a desperate need of a complete renovation. The doors to the hotel rooms did not close tightly, the decor and furniture was not worthy of the hotels location or address, the bathroom fixtures were cheap. The cleaning staff would yell to each other across the […] pool area and for some reason 2 people were needed to clean 1 room. The beach needed to be cleaned of debris and seaweed. The hotel couldn't be in a more perfect location. You can see the beach and the pool from the window of pretty much all of the rooms. There is a park within walking distance right down the road. It is in a really good neighborhood as far as I could tell. I went running at night and didn't see anyone that looked intimidating. In fact, I saw a lot of […] other runners and bikers on my way. This is a very economical hotel. They are in a slow process of upgrading. The location is wonderful and the rooms were fairly clean. Beds are somewhat hard. You can't beat the price and the beach location. The owners could have a gold mine if they keep working to improve the dated condition.

Location on the beach is wonderful, people working very friendly, clean rooms. The only thing I would not recommend is the beds, bring an egg crate! They are hard, and not real comfortable. Otherwise, a good buy for the room and would come again.

This hotel was convienently located on the beach. The hotel bldg outside needs blemish clean up. My room was clean and accomodating for the price. The bed was a spring mattress.....? however I slept all night by the sounds of the ocean. the swimming pool area was clean and is as nice as the picture online...I would stay here again..it was good place […] to hang my hat. Some of the best customer svc I have received at a hotel in a long time. View was awesome. Room was clean, pool was clean. Beds were a little lumpy and the tv was on it's way out but who cares.

Beautiful location on beach! Older but clean.

Very Noisy. Other guests were in pool and outside talking til 4a. very rundown and lobby smelled moldy

This place is in need of a major updating. Plaster falling from the walls, floors not clean, cannot distinguish employees from guests!

Surf Club Hotel is a beach hotel, needs some maintenance but the location is absolutely perfect if you wish to be ON the beach. Overall rooms were clean but very basic commodities. We asked for a fridge and microwave in the reservations and we got it. Do not expect any fancy accommodations but food in the Coco Cafe was good for breakfast, pool was well […] maintained and beach was a few steps down. If you are planning on setting up on the beach, would recommend taking your beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas) but they do have beach towels if you request them in the lobby. We were lucky to see a turtle come out at night to nest her eggs which was a magical experience although everyone was very respectful, didn't get close to give her space. Will definitely go back given the liberty and ease of access to the beach. Overall rooms and structure need maintenance given the harsh beach conditions. Devamı

It was nice to stay in a hotel that has all tile floors and no carpeting. However the door to the room was not a tight seal and you could see day light coming from the sides and bottom of the door. The A/C unit was very loud. The location was great - right on the beach.

The people were very nice but the hotel is very old and very tired. We were supposed to have a refrigerator in our room; there was none. They painted a portion of the deck going out to the beach in the middle of the day on the 3rd of July. There were a good many people that ended up with paint on the bottom of their feet, myself among them. I believe […] the paint would have served a better purpose covering the many rust spots all over the hotel. This was my first visit to Vero Beach so I did not know what to expect. The local community is lovely; however. I will not stay at this hotel again nor will I recommend it to anyone due to the current condition of the property. I noted in a local magazine that the property is for sale. Perhaps a new owner will give the property a much needed "face list" making it more worthy of a three star rating on hotels.com. Thank you. This hotel had a great location and a nice pool but the rooms were gross for lack of a better term. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. I'd recommend only in cases of mere desperation.

Cracks in wall, ceiling peeling off, water stains, rust all over bathroom. Felt like a motel in the 70's. Poor building maintenance.

Nice older hotel on the beach. You can not touch another hotel on the beach for this price. My room was tiled which I prefer to carpeted rooms. Very pleased with our stay.

Loved this hotel! It was right on the beach and close enough to walk to the boardwalk and restaurants. Older hotel, but staff is friendly and the room was really clean. We will be staying here again.

Surrounding area is not ideal for younger groups but an awesome family beach.

I loved my stay. Right, Right Right on the beach. Very relaxing pool area. Breakfast and lunch by the pool was fantastic. Right on Vero's beach strip which is awesome. Great bars and neat places to eat. Even had delivery from a little pizza place on the beach. Loved it and i will most certainly stay here again. Trey

It was a nice location, beach was nice,but considering it was newly renovated, they did a sloppy job and I wasn't impressed. Looked much nicer from the picture
