Basically I went there just for one night sleep. It is a new hotel. Very clean. 2 problems: 1) You can hear the flush, shower next door and talk in the hall way. 2) The heat was preset to 70F, but when we adjusted it to 72, it roared. Since it was not a deep cold night and my neighbors were not owls. So the noise was acceptable.

Clean rooms, great location.

Hotel seemed new. A pool would have been nice, and it was not easy walking distance to Fairfax, but the kids-eat-free breakfast (with paid adult buffet, $12) was an unexpected surprise, and the convenience to GMU can't be beat.

The hotel is on the campus of George Mason Univ. The hotel website provides good directions. Check-in a bit difficult because Hotels.com spelled my name wrong and the front desk couldn't find the reservation. The hotel is very attractive and clean. The rooms are nicely furnished and beds very comfortable. Towels are softer than in lots of hotels these […] days. Hotel has a restaurant but many others are a short drive. In all, would return again and recommend. If you are in No VA or DC, it's a nice respite from the traffic and business of the area. Just make sure there's no university event when you want to stay. After staying in downtown DC we moved our hotel to the Mason. It was night and day. Worth the time to get into the city for meetings etc.

It is a quite nice and quiet place to stay, specially for those who come to visit friends in GMU.

Place is brand new. Very quiet and staff that I spoke with were students with great attitude. Very inexpensive. A little hard to find, but it was snowing and I was tired. Great value.

My daughter is a student and GMU and this hotel is not only convenient , it is a pleasant and comfortable, upscale environment.

I was very annoyed and disappointed when I checked into the hotel. First the reservation clerk acted as if she could not find the reservation. Then she sent us to our room. I was shocked to see 2 double beds when I was told that there were only king beds left. As a happily married couple, my husband and I do not chose to sleep in separate beds. It was […] one of the worst nights that we have had. I called the front desk and I said to the clerk: "It would have been nice if you had advised us that we had a double room when we checked in. I belive in professional customer service. Even if there was not another king room available, LET ME KNOW." Danielle claimed that she did not know that our reservation was for a king room and that they did not have any king rooms left. We were attending a banquet at the Mason and then she had the nerve to offer us anotehr hotel 3 miles away but stated that we could not get a refund from The Mason. What the ham sandwich? Was she trained on customer service? If I had been offered a complimentary breakfast or something, I would have been happy but of course nothing of the sort. Devamı

The hotel was very nice and I would defiantly stay here gain. The food in the restaurant was bar food but the staff was very nice.

Clean, comfortable, convenient, resourceful and accommodating staff.

While a bit tricky to find late at night, the warm glow of the Mason Inn was a welcome site. The front desk person was extremely professional and helpful. My room was nicely appointed and very clean. I would stay again and recommend.

Stay here! It's great!

I stayed here for a conference at the University and really liked the location, because it is also within driving distance to D.C. The room was comfortable and clean, although it would have been nice to have a fridge in the room. Staff was friendly enough.

This was our second visit to the Mason Inn! We were fortunate to find a King room for an extended stay during Feshman Move-in Week! We stayed at the Mason Inn during a weekend getaway to DC. The rates were nearly half of the hotels in the DC city limits (with no extra charges for parking), and with only a 10-15 minute drive to the Vienna Metro Station, it was a breeze to get anywhere in the city we needed to go. We were very impressed overall with the quality of the hotel. The hotel […] itself is newly renovated and very quiet and clean. It is located on the grounds of George Mason University, but is situated on a private corner of campus with no surrounding classrooms/dorms, etc, so it is very quiet and private. The hotel also has designated underground parking exclusively for hotel guests, so you don't ever have to worry about finding a spot. Guests have access to the huge campus gym (with pool) located across the street. Just down the street from the hotel is Historic Fairfax, and access to both I-66 and the Vienna Metro is just a few minutes away. When we originally checked into the hotel, we received a double room instead of the king room we had booked. The front desk clerk was very professional, apologized, and switched our rooms without delay. The room was great, exactly as pictured, and the bathroom was very nice as well. The only problems we had with the room was the television due to the remote buttons getting stuck, and the TV randomly changing channels and turning off and on. Had we reported this to the front desk, I'm sure it would have been remedied, but we didn't care enough to report it. Other than that, our stay was exceptional. Devamı

The hotel is located in nice neighborhood and has convenient access to many interesting areas nearby. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel accommodations and customer service. An easy to access garage was a nice feature. The a/c unit was effective, albeit just a tad noisy. Overall the room was spacious, comfortable, quiet and fully appointed. Enjoyed the stay!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful and friendly. The shuttle service to the Metro for Waswhington couldn't be better. We would stay again.

We traveled to the DC area for a job interview but did not want to spend a lot on a hotel. We also wanted something in a nice area. Clean rooms and facilities, comfortable rooms, courteous and knowledgeable staff, reasonable rates...also convenient if attempting to travel to DC on a budget...the hotel has a free shuttle service which can take one to the Fairfax Metro Station, saving one from the hassle and expence of attempting to drive into and find a reasonable place to stay within […] the District. was very putoff by desk clerk at check in, i gave her my reservation and, which was for a king room, and recieved a room with two double beds. i was told that reservations are not guaranteed! also my wife stubbed her toe on the hotel bed leg, went down to the front desk to ask for a band aid and nothing else, and was told she could purchase band aids […] in the gift shop. the hotel was very clean though, except for a funky smell in the hallway. little bit far out from downtown d.c. though. 15-20 min drive to subway, and 32 min subway ride from there. would not reccomend this hotel due to cost and location. Great hotel and great location if you cannot afford to stay in DC. The only thing that bothered me a little was that for being a new hotel, the bathtub floor was not perfectly cleaned. There was this one spot on the bathtub floor that looked like they just could not get out? Other than that, the room was perfect.

My job requires me to stay at hotels in the Fairfax area several times a week and the Mason Inn is always my first choice.The hotel is clean and new, the staff is friendly, and the George Mason campus is a great place to explore. The hotel is away from downtown Fairfax, but there are plenty of restaurants located within a mile and a half (and there […] are sidewalks the whole way, so you can walk if you want). My husband and I went to Washington DC for a long weekend getaway. Too expensive to stay in DC, so found the Mason Inn located in Fairfax Virginia. As of summer 2011 this is a brand new hotel/conference center. Here are the highlights of our stay...good and bad. (not too much bad tho) -Located adjacent to Mason University. We were here in off school […] time, so little to no University traffic. Not sure how it would be while school is in session. -Parking is free for guests. They have a 1 level parking garage that includes direct access a secured elevator (requires a room key to go above the main floor). Also have an open air lot adjacent to the garage for overflow parking during events. This is still inside a single arm access gate that is secured during certain hours. -The lobby and common areas are very nice. Beautiful open space lobby. Rooms were not huge, but immaculate. Included complimentary wi-fi, toiletries, flat screen TV and a desk. Also had an iron and hair dryer. Pretty much everything you would need. Overall room was wonderful. The only downside was the bedframe. It is a wide wood frame that looks great, but bangs your shins when trying to get in and out of bed. Have a lovely bruise on my calf from that frame. Still loved the room though. So clean! Comfy bed! The bedspread/comforter on the bed was soooo nice. Didn't want to get out of bed! -Hotel does not offer free breakfast. They had a lovely restaurant off the lobby. Table linens were nice. We ate breakfast there and was no more expensive than when we also ate off site. Hotel does offer room service. We called for a late night dessert, but they were out of 2 of the 3 options they offered. I am sure they will work that out as open longer. There was a large conference going on that Saturday evening, so I will assume they had been busy. -Metro is about a 10 minute ride away to the Vienna stop. Metro parking lots are free on the weekend. This appears to be a hidden gem given the fact that this brand new hotel is so in expensive. The service and accomodations are top-quality. The young staff are very customer centered and are comparable to many of the other well established (more expensive) hotels in the fairfax area. We stayed at the Mason Inn for 5 nights and we were delighted with the hotel from the moment we got there! The staff were very friendly, our room was beautiful & modern & the restaurant food was delicious (we ate both breakfast & dinner once). We were also happy with the surrounding area which had lots of restaurants & convenience stores close by! Our […] purpose of staying at the Mason Inn was to be close enough to Washington city without paying the centre hotel prices, this hotel did not disappoint in this area as it only took us 15 minutes by car to get there. We did use the metro once too which took 20 minutes & was hassle free! Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Mason Inn & would definitely recommend it to others. Needed a place to stay for 2 nights while visiting friends in Fairfax and were delighted to find a lovely hotel right on the GMU campus. I would have to say the Mason Inn is one of the better Hotels in which I have stayed in some 30 yrs. of travel. I highly recomend to anyone who plans on being in the area! You can catch the Metro Subway and ride into Washington to veiw the sights there.

Though the hotel is beautiful, there were many unsatisfactory things that we found. The beds have a wooden frame holding mattresses and box springs that are too small, so that when we got out of bed we banged our legs against the frames. There were only 2 bath towels, so when we took a shower there were no more bath towels until the next day when the […] housekeepers arrived. There should be extras there. Only two glasses were left, and we had to ask for extras to hold our tooth brushes and toothpaste. I think the hotel has a lot to learn about guests' comfort. Devamı

The rooms were luxurious, comfortable and spacious. The staff were wonderful, always helpful and willing to go the extra mile for our Conference. The food--Breakfasts & Lunches were delicious and nutritious and the staff worked with the Conference people to make it easier to transition from one workshop to the next, provided chairs quickly for overcrowded […] workshops and were friendly and helpful. My stay at The Mason Inn was great. Wasn't far for my daughter to walk to from her dorm and the staff was excellent. I had a wonderful meal at The Box and a great breakfast buffett. The surrounding area was great as well. Could easily take public transportation and not far from shopping malls. Enjoyed dinner at Fat Tuesday's and La Tolteca. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the fact that almost everything on the dinner menu came with the same 2 vegetables. Not enough variety. I thought the people talking care of the room did an excellent job.

Very pleasant stay. The student interns working there were very professional and willing to help as was the regular staff. I would have preferred better pillows and softer toilet paper, but otherwise a wonderful visit.

What a find! Although not near any tourist centers, or public transportation, this hotel proved to be perfect for our needs. If you have a child attending George Mason, or are attending any Patriot Center events, this hotel on the campus. Only 10 minutes away from my parents' home in Fairfax, VA the new (9 mos old), modern hotel accomodated us with […] an accessible room. They gave us this room after we mentioned my husband has a parking permit, we had not reserved it ahead of time . Spacious and comfortable with a huge bathroom (with tub/hower) the room had more than enough storage space for our belongings. The towels and sheets felt soft, and the shampoo & conditioner came in cute bottles. The staff welcomed us and made the necessary changes in our reservation without question. We did not eat in the on site restaurant or bar. We chose this hotel because of location and price. The rates were lower than the many major chains in the area. We hope the rates and staff remain the same for Thanksgiving! Devamı
