The Preserve at Los Altos - Quepos

Room is HUGE and we loved the layout. Free breakfast is standard fare. Private beach was cool, but we enjoyed the main beach to the south. Only complaint is the WiFi sucks since you have to login every time you unlock your device or open your laptop. At least it was fast and free. Of the five luxury hotels we stayed at, this was the best.

Rooms, actually a condo, are large and well appointed. The staff however, was only minimally helpful- did not go out of their way at all to eg look up times and prices for excursions, or offer restaurant suggestions, etc. Appeared rather bored, not what one would expect at this type and price hotel. Other people suggested concierge at a nearby hotel […] who was wonderful and extremely helpful. Also, we chose an "ocean view" room- it actually looked out on a telephone pole and parking lot, with a Distant view of the ocean. They did change our room at our request. Finally, the hotel beach had chairs strewn around, not kept up at all, though it could have been a lovely place. Difficult to walk to- transportation provided, but when we requested a ride to another nearby spot this was not possible- in spite of staff/van not busy doing anything else. My experience @ Los Altos was amazing! The staff was beyond accommodating and the pictures does not do it justice. If you are looking for pure luxury, comfort top of the line customer service this is the place to stay. Miss you all!

Based on the star rating we expected a higher level of service. The staff were kind and helpful and we really liked them. However, they didn't seem very experienced and therefore maybe did not understand how to give the kind of service befitting a 4.5 star hotel. I emailed them before coming to arrange an airport pick up for us. No one ever responded. […] I partly booked this particular place because it said it had a spa but the spa was closed for remodeling. All of the places that I have stayed in in Costa Rica were environmentally aware and striving toward some sort of sustainability. I saw no evidence of that here. . The Kleenex and toilet tissue were scented which was odd. It was a very lovely property. We were disappointed to see that they have cut down so many of the trees on their property. The beach was small and you could maybe swim there if you had some sort of aqua shoes because it's very rocky. It is absolutely worth the money to go to Manuel Antonio's beaches in the park. Playa Espadilla SUR was the best beach we've ever seen. Back to the hotel, the food in the restaurant was pretty good. The look the of hotel, restaurant and pool was great. It looked 5 star but seemed 3 star. The beds were so hard and cheap that I couldn't believe it. Also the pillows were very cheap foam ones but they were actually pretty comfortable. The sheets were indeed great but what sense does it make to put nice sheets over a cheap mattress?? Devamı

Service and Accommodations were excellent. Concierge was incredibly helpful, everyone was consistently, genuinely friendly. They make a big effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Grounds were beautiful. Would definitely stay there again!

Room was amazing, staff was GREAT, and property very nice. Elevator goes directly to your 3 bedroom condo. Very nice quality, Very clean, beautiful view. Our family will be going back the next time we are in Costa Rica. We had fun at the pool, lots of local restaurants, saw monkeys at the private beach and even saw a sloth on the property. We stayed at Los Altos on the second half of our Costa Rican adventure. Our condo was HUGE, with three bedrooms and a large common area that included a living room/kitchen/dining room. It easily accommodated my husband and I and our three adult children. We had a lovely view of the pacific from our balcony (great sunsets) and the breakfast (included) […] was good, although it was not usually ready at 6:30 AM as scheduled. But this was only a problem when we had an early morning excursion and wanted to eat breakfast before we left. We did have a problem with a malfunctioning toilet that we reported for two days to the front desk. The maids were the ones who solved the problem--apparently maintenance listens to housekeeping before reception. Of course, this was not a huge problem, as there are two other bathrooms in the condo. Another minor problem was that the AC did not work well in the master bedroom, but everywhere else it was just great. The front desk staff was very helpful to us in scheduling excursions, all of which were awesome. The guides were very knowlegeable and it turned out that we were always the only ones on the excursions (we were 5 people), so we had very personalized attention. The front desk staff was also very helpful in answering any questions we had and offering advice on various things, from restaurants to sightseeing. We ate at the restaurant on site the first night we were there. The food was very good, but a bit pricey compared to other restaurants in the area. There are many excellent places to eat within walking distance of Los Altos--another plus. The private beach is pretty, but very rocky. Nice for sunbathing, but not for swimming because the rocks in the water make it very difficult to get out into the water. Los Altos offers transportation to and from the beach, which is helpful because the road is very long and steep. Los Altos is truly a paradise in paradise. The staff was wonderful and catered to our every need. The condo was unbelievable, and grounds and beach were beautiful. Loved the location, very close to national park and beaches. Titi Canopy zipline was awesome! Sunsets every night were perfection. Would go back in a second!

We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit on the second floor. Our condo was in excellent condition and very nicely furnished. My kids did complain that their beds were too hard- but other than that we loved everything. The pool area was very nice- quite busy the first afternoon but relatively quiet the next two days. We did walk down to the beach. It was quite […] a hike- I know they will drive you there if you want but I think I would find a bigger nicer beach if I was going to make the effort. The complementary breakfast was nice ( adequate) and you did have the option to order additionally from the menu as all of the breakfasts were made to order. The wait was fairly long in the mornings and they did not open until 7- so one morning we had to take breakfast to go in order to meet our 7:30 tour and the last morning we left before they opened. There are several nice eating options within walking distance plus a market- so the location was very good overall. Bus stops were just at the top of the hill. We did not have a car during our stay but it was not a problem for us. It was easy to get a taxi when we needed one. We did eat in the restaurant the last night. It was very quiet. The food and sevice were very good. We really loved the resort overall and would not hesitate to return. Devamı

My wife and I and another couple recently stayed at the Los Altos Resort in Quepos, Costa Rica and were very pleased with our experience. The project was constructed as a "for sale" condominium, but several of the units are rented out. Our unit (as well as the other rental units) was great and offered a large master bedroom suite outfitted with a king […] size bed. There were two other bedrooms furnished with either a queen size bed or two twin beds. All of the bedrooms had a balcony with seating. In addition, our unit offered a very generous living / dining / kitchen area. We were on the second floor and had a great view of the Pacific coast and the project's pool area and restaurant. The pool area was very relaxing. The restaurant offered very good food. Los Altos is mid-way between the town of Quepos and the Manual Antonio National Park and beach area. There are numerous restaurants near by. The service staff (front desk, cleaning, etc.) were professional and very accomodating. Devamı

We stayed at Los Altos in April 2011. Our expectations were exceeded. We travelled with three children from 2 - 10 and we felt very comfortable there as a family, but also as if we were in a luxury property. The units are amazing! They are huge, bright and luxurious. The property had a smaller, boutique feel to it, but had enough amenities to keep it […] interesting. The staff arranged for anything we wanted to do ... from excursions to calling a cab. The pool is beautiful, with a shallow section that is great for the littlest guests. It is a great place to have some down time as a family. I would recommend it for families looking for some r and r, but also for couples without children because it's definitely not strictly a family place. It's well situated in town where you can walk to restaurants and other places are a short cab ride. Highly recommend! Devamı

Title: The excellent Los Altos Hotel and Beach Resort in the Manuel Antonio Park area in Costa Rica. My extended family had a fantastic time at this hotel. It is not a typical hotel - it is a condominium hotel - we had a 3 bedroom apartment that worked perfectly for our party of 3 adults and 2 teenagers. The suite was spacious, modern and incredibly […] well equipped. The modern decor and styling was exquisite. A lot fo attention to detail. It was a pleasure staying in the suite - felt very comfortable. We were treated to a complimentary foot massage upon check-in - Liz the Spa manager personally provided this and it was excellent- a great advert for the spa. We also enjoyed a massage at the spa - excellent!!. The Spa is located in the hotel and offers yoga classes (with it's sister spa location. We were able to get our group yoga session pool-side one morning and it was great! Emily the yoga instructor is brilliant!. The hotel's restaurant served a buffet breakfast (which was generally good - though limited. you could opt for a la carte if you wished). The same restaurant served pool snacks, lunches and dinner - on a couple of days dinner was accompanied by live music. The food was of a high quality (esp. with the more complex preparations). The tuna dishes particularly were great - very very fresh!. The hotel pool area is a little small but worked out fine. We were there at a busy time and still managed to get loungers/chairs for much of the day. Service staff again were very good. Look out for the monkeys and sloths - they are around in the trees but too shy to come onto the property. Still, the young people enjoyed watching them and taking photos. The "beach resort" part of the hotel property is a private beach that can be accessed down a private road. The beach runs a private shuttle to the beach - which is only open when the tide is out. This hotel is spectacular. The rooms are actually apartments (3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms) and all rooms face towards the Pacific Ocean. We couldn't quite see sunset from our balchony (one of three balchonies!!) but we certainly could from the pool. The private beach isn't much of a beach, but the neighboring beach is beautiful and sandy. The staff was […] extremely helpful-- we had a problem with the transfer we had booked for our departure to San Jose and the staff took care of everything for us! I definitely recommend this hotel. My only complaint is that there is no beach club and only 2 lounges/chairs at the beach.
