Kilmaurs Guest House - Edinburgh

Lovely B&B. My hostess was so very nice and even offered to pack a breakfast for me as I was leaving very early in the morn! Beautiful home, wonderful breakfast, great smelling sheets and very clean.The word that comes to mind is 'luxurious.'

We booked two rooms at Kilmarus house and arrived late in the evening. The owner Donna gave us a warm greeting and made our stay very comfortable. The rooms are nicely decorated and the breakfast was really good with lots of fresh fruits and yummy pastries. Overall our stay was very pleasant.

Good location on a quiet street on the south side of the city, just round the corner from bus routes into the city centre. Friendly and efficient welcome from the owners. Had just booked a single room, but was upgraded for free to a spacious triple, which was spotlessly clean and well decorated and furnished. I had lovely stay. The room was spotless and cosy, the views on Arthur's Seat excellent, and the owners really nice and helpfull. I warmly recommend this place for your stay in Edinburgh. You have several bus lines one street away for your trips to teh city centre; the neighbourhood is and feels safe. Had a lovely stay at Kilmaurs - Donna was very welcoming and helpful, for example giving us directions for getting into Edinburgh centre. Breakfast was amazing - so much choice, and everything top quality! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh,

Spacious, comfortable house. Friendly, kind host. The best B&B breakfast ever! A little way out of town, but bus service is very good. One small problem - lavatory was very slow to refill after flush.

A wonderful little guest house with an absolutely amazing breakfast provided! It is a long walk from the center of town but there is a good bus service. I liked it a lot but for a short stay the center of town would be a more suitable choice.

Our hostess, Donna, was wonderfully warm and kind, and the accomodations and breakfast were top notch. We walked from the Kilmaur into Edinburgh that evening and again in the morning. The distance was just fine, especially considering how quiet the neighborhood was, and the walk through nearby Holyrood Park was beautiful. I wish we'd had another night […] there! My only complaint would be that the room was a bit warm, but I guess Scotland really does have a Summer! Devamı

This is a cozy guest house with a generous and attentive owner and gorgeous views. A full, homemade Scottish breakfast is included with the price of the room. It is a in a lovely secluded location with a 20-30 minute walk to the city center but Edinburgh is a nice place for walking. The wifi signal does not currently reach at least one of the rooms […] but there is a common area where you are welcome to work. Donna is a wonderful hostess and the house has a very nice atmosphere. I chose Kilmaurs on the basis of its excellent reviews and they were justified. Donna was very helpful and friendly and looked after me extremely well. The room was comfortable and very clean. My only criticism would be the size of the shower-room. I was travelling alone and am small so it doesn't matter. But, it was a double room and if my tall husband […] had been with me, he would have had trouble using the basin as the ceiling slopes and the space is narrow. The breakfast was excellent with an extensive cold buffet plus a choice of cooked options. Kilmaurs is a couple of miles from the centre of Edinburgh but the bus stop is nearby and the service is frequent. All together a great place to stay and good value. I would recommend it. Devamı

Overall I was very satisfied with the stay. The proprietor was very kind and helpful and she went above and beyond my expectations to make my stay comfortable. The location near Holyrood Park and close to downtown was a plus. The beds were very comfortable and the room was nice and clean. The only difficulty was with the parking. The on-street parking […] was at a premium and I had to park a block away from the house. Also, all of the plumming in the bathroom was hooked to an auxiliary pump that was quite loud when operating. The drive to the airport was just under a half an hour, which was reasonable. Overall I would recommend this location. Devamı

We stayed at Kilmaurs House for 1 night, mainly as a convenience for where we had to be the following morning, but also took in a few Edinburgh sights when there, although had an early start the following day. What a delight. Extremely friendly and owner, catered to our every need, very comfortable family room in a lovely house, and breakfast was fantastic, […] just sorry we had to rush off so early and not take full advantage of the hospitality. Lovely stay at kilmaurs guest house. Owners were very friendly and hospitable. Had a relation with us from Australia and a lovely time was had by all. Fantastic breakfast and the 2 dogs were gorgeous

We spent 4 nights at the guest house and during this period we were made to feel very welcome by Donna, who's breakfast is exceptional. The guest house is situated in a quiet residential area, just over a mile from the city centre. A leisurely 20 min walk (downhill) past Arthur's Seat will bring you to the bottom of the Royal Mile from which you can […] then access the various tourist locations. If you don't fancy the walk a frequent and reasonably priced bus service is available a few minutes from the guest house. Overall we had an excellent stay at the Kilmaurs Guest House and would readily stay there again in the future. Devamı

Die Lage ist super, es fahren 3 verschiedene Busse in die Altstadt. Das Haus ist nett und gemüdlich eingerichtet. Frühstück 1a! Jeden Tag frisches Obst und eine große Auswahl. Zimmer sauber& groß. Bad im Zimmer. Freies Wlan!

Familie bed&breakfast met persoonlijke touch van de eigenaresse. Ontbijt is geweldig, naar wens van de gast. Kamer is prima voor een B&B. Vrij ver verwijderd van het centrum (ruim een half uur lopen). Maar, vlak bij Arthur's rock en enkele supermarkten en restaurants. Rustige omgeving. Erg mooie wandeling te maken van hotel, via Arthur's rock naar Holyrood […] paleis. Devamı

Det är få ställen som haft så bra service som här och tro mig, jag har besökt många. Frukostbuffén är helt fantastisk och Donna skulle gå genom eld för att göra er vistelse så bra som det bara kan bli.

Very kind and nice hosts and we felt very welcome with a coffee when arriving. Really good comfortable and clean room and bathroom and a fantastic breakfast. It is a bit distance from the city - maybe 30-40 minutes walk but quiet surroundings and possible to park the car.

Goede B&B, waar je persoonlijke aandacht krijgt. Er werd goed op me gelet, omdat ik een alleenreizende vrouw was en mocht paraplu en adapter lenen. Heerlijk ontbijt, schone kamer. Alleen het bed was naar mijn smaak veel te zacht. Het centrum is makkelijk en snel te bereiken met de bus, rustige en nette buurt. Uitzicht vanuit de kamer is prachtig.

Toppen service av fantastiks vänlig och påläst värd och värdinna. Enda minustecknet var toaletterna som inte alltid fungerade. Frukosten var ett minne för livet, härlig fruktbuffé med massa variationer, flingor, sötsaker och ett stort varmt utbud som komplement.
