Blue Chip Casino Hotel and Spa - Michigan City

Good place if you are passing through.

Rooms were comfortable but the halls smelled of old cigarette smoke. People could smoke where ever they wanted to. Smelled horrible. Price was a little high for a 1 night smelly place.

Great atmosphere!! Lots of fun things to do!!!

Nice stay, but we arrived a little early. Staff at the front desk was a little rude. When we came back later, the new assistant was very nice! pool in the old tower is not in the best condition! its worth to pay more and stay in the spa tower. very nice rooms. Premium Outlet was disappointing!

If you have tons of equipment to haul in, it's a long walk to your room. The gym should be open earlier in the morning. I was there when it was suppossed to be open and had to wait to have someone open it for me. They had a long walk too I guess.

Clean and quiet room. Fun atmosphere in the casino and surrounding lobby. Check in main desk oddly off to the side instead of front and center ready to greet guests. Breakfast buffet was excellent with wide selection.

We had a very nice stay in our room at the Blue Chip Spa Tower. The room was very nicely appointed. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was fabulous! It was a warm day and the air conditioner wasn't working properly, so we called the front desk and maintenance fixed the problem while we went down for dinner. The hotel and our room was very nice. Large shower, bathroom, and room. Updated throughout. The casino was good. My only complaint is that very few waitreses coming around. We gambled for about 3.5 hrs and only once did my wife had someone come ask if she needed a drink. I never had one ask and I was playing at a table. We stayed in the older section of the hotel. It was fine for a one night stay. Beds sink (they need to update beds in the old portion of the hotel). One thing--they don't explain that you will be staying in the older portion of the hotel until you get there.

We stayed here to mainly attend a concert. For the price the hotel was just okay. It was nice to not have to drive anywhere but beware there is NO customer service here. The employees do not go above and beyond. I went to two gift shops and the clerk was on the phone talking to a friend. The buffet had only to add water to the food, in other words instant […] eggs, instant pancakes, etc. No on smiled just not friendly at all. So if you need a place to stay on site then this good for that but don't expect great service.. Devamı

This was not on our list to stay at but it was the best deal in the area by atleast $35. Clean room and common areas were very nice. Stayed for breakfast and it was very well maintained and stocked. Cost was very cheap for the amount of food you could eat.i

The stay was great, location for family from detroit and IL was great But most important waS THE STAFF THEY WERE .fabulous tHE SMILE AND THE CARE, SHINE OVER THE STAY AT THE GREAT HOTEL THANK YOU FOR GAVING ME A WAY TO SHARE THIS GREAT TIME WITH YOU.WE WILL STAY AGAIN

I was really disapointed with the quality of the room that we stayed in. The walls were so thin that we heard all the hallway traffic and the people talking in the rooms beside us. There was not a bathtub and the beds were very uncomfortable. The food , however, was great.

Room was fabulous and clean. As long as you are okay with some radiation from the nuclear tower right by the hotel, this is a great place!

It was very expensive to stay here at this hotel. We were staying for my husband's 40th birthday. We requested a view of the lake from our room, but instead we got a view of the parking lot! We checked in right at 3:00 and we were told all of the water view rooms were already taken. Well, how would they all be taken, if you can't even check in until […] 3pm? Receptionist was very friendly upon our arrival. We enjoyed our stay in the Spa Blue tower. Pleasantly surprised to hear live entertainment at several locations on the hotel property. We'll be coming back.

Was traveling from Denver to Michigan so passing close to This hotel. thought it would be fun to stop for a night. Found not good for traveling through. Had to check in at different location, park quite a ways from room and haul luggage a ways to room. Nice room but made for folks who want to spend some time in casino, not traveling through. We thought the rooms and grounds were wonderful. Check in person was very friendly and helpful, unfortunately that's where the freindliness ended. The Buffet Service was rude and unfriendly and m,ade us feel like an inconvience to their day. Great location, great restaurants, great room

The older facility is in an odd location and relatively ignored by the staff, in fact they have completely closed down the reception desk for the older part of the hotel so you can only check in and out on the opposite of the property. Very nice hotel. Rooms had great a/c's. It got so cold in my room at one point I thought I stepped on a penguin. Good service.

We were dispointed in the quality of the room and the bed and furnishings were unacceptable. It didn't seem real clean. We were in the original part and felt we paid to much for the room rate, however we would not pay the extreme price of rooms in the new tower. One thing I noticed is a that people were not very friendly except for one girl that helped […] us check in the registration people were not friendly at all. Our hotel room was wonderful!! It was super clean and the service was great. The hotel has lots to offer including a casino, live music, and several dining choices. The only negative would be, if you really don't care for the smell of cigarette smoke, you may want to stay somewhere else.

This hotel seems fine for someone who intends to simply gamble or go to the hotels bars. This is not a great place for someone who wants to get out and enjoy the NW Indiana area. Michigan City has nothing to offer other than the outlet mall, and the condition of the hotel area was below average. This hotel has a strikingly beautiful exterior. The interior is reasonably attractive as well. Rooms are well appointed and the bathroom showers are spacious. But what happened with the beds?? They are lumpy, obviously worn out, and uncomfortable. Please please please give your guests a good night's sleep by investing in quality bedding. Also, some […] advice regarding hotel registration staff: when my wife and I checked in, the two registration clerks we encountered displayed as much personality as jellyfish. Although we were the only guests checking in at the time, we received no welcome or even a "hello", just "name" and "how many nights"? Isn't that how new prison inmates are checked in? Devamı

We chose this hotel based on location and not to frequent the casino which we have stayed away from due to heavy smoke in lobby alone. If this is the best that Michigan City has to offer, I am very disappointed. I have stayed in nicer Red Roof Inns as far as the room goes.
