Great time, loved St. Simons, terrific staff @ hotel

Pros: This is a charming hotel near Mallery Street which has several little shops and restaurants. It is directly across the street from the lighthouse and beach and park area. (We had a wedding reception at the lighthouse museum, so it was perfect!) Also, the breakfast stayed out longer than normal hotels, so some of the late-goers in my group had […] a chance to grab something later. Cons: I found old soap wrappings in the shower, so I knew it hadn't been cleaned that well. Don't be fooled by the balcony - it's about 3'x2'. A chair cannot even fit. Also, there are no ground level rooms, if you are interested in that. Overall: I would say it was worth it just for the location! Devamı

Hotel was very nice and located in a great location. Close to everything. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Great view of the lighthouse.

Best if you get a front or side view.

We spent two nights here over New Years weekend and really enjoyed it. The location is excellent, right at the light house, village and pier, close to restaurants. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, and we enjoyed having breakfast as part of the hotel rate. We would recommend it.

Ocean Inn on St. Simon's Island is a good hotel in general. It would have been nice to have more amenities such as a work out room. The continental breakfast was meager. More selections are needed. Our second day at the hotel, a very old torn striped towel was included in our bathroom accessories. It was odd since hotels usually provied solid white […] towels. We were surpised to see this. Housekeeping should be more careful when providing linens, etc.. Devamı

The accommodations were top class.The staff were very helpful an friendly. The cost was very reasonable an the location was within walking of the shops, light house, pier, and first class eating establishments. I would be more then happy to come an stay again.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Great service, great location, clean rooms. The interior looked a little older but room was comfortable, bed was really comfortable. Quiet rooms. I would definitely stay here again when visiting St Simons.

The room was very dark with lights that maybe were cost efficient but very dull. The temperature in the room was hard to regulate. The shower did not work well. The parking was very tight so that we had to park outside the parking area every night. When we asked to check in a little early, we were told there would be a fee. Never had that before. Ocean Inn on St. Simons Island markets itself as a boutique Hotel. Far from it...Sure it looks great from the street, but inside the quality of room and common area (breakfast room) makes you wonder what you are paying for. Bedding, bath ammenities, TV, etc are minimal (old, cheap, used, stained). Much better can be found at Hampton Inn/Comfort Inn […] type properties. Consider the loud wall unit heat/air unit, stained blankets and beadspreads sandpaper towels, no ESPN (come on - its football season!), cheap soap patties, but worst of all....the absolute worst, thinnest, roughest toilet paper I ever have used. Where do they even get that stuff?!? (And when I called the front desk for a refill - because it was about gone when I got there - they made me walk down to the front desk to get it myself, along with towels since they only give you 2 eventhough the reservation was for 4). And the "free breakfast"...you will have the choice of 1 cereal, some bread for toast, and some muffins, juice and an empty pot of coffee - I went down 3 mornings in a row to find no coffee - I waited for a while before walking down the street to get some. And that is weird because they only have those small 6-8 oz styrofoam cups with no lids...where did all the coffee go? but at least they had the generic brand powder cream packs. (I did find later that they had bottled water and soft drinks). All in all an ok place to stay if you don't actually expect anything because of location - but don't expect Boutique or Luxury or you will be dissapointed. Devamı

We were just stopping in for the night during a road trip from Miami to Nashville and on to Colorado. This Inn and the town were so cool that we are now planning a return visit. Cute, friendly, quiet, cozy, clean, historical... it was all quite fun and a delightful surprise! We have stayed here in the past and feel as though the service has greatly gone down hill since the previous manager Herb has left. Examples. No more cookies in the evening. Much smaller breakfast and ran out of stuff both days. Not as easy at all to check in to before 4:00. Actually impossible.

If you are looking to be catered to, like a resort - this is not the place to go. On the other hand if you are grown up enough to realize that this is a place to lay your head at night...this is perfect. The desk personnell could not be nicer. We wound up staying an extra night and they were accomodating. The rooms were clean and freshened every day. […] I would not let the 'free' breakfast influence your decision though as it is minimal at best. But it is directly across the street from the light house , public pool (very well maintained) , park, and pier...as well as 2-3 blocks (very walking distance) from the Village itself. This hotel was conveniently located in the village on St. Simon's, across from the lighthouse and just around the corner from shops and restaurants. Hotel was VERY clean, VERY comfortable mattress, charming (overlook the checkerboard marble on walls). Parking was tight. Complimentary breakfast was quite ordinary. Its best quality is location. Close to popular hangouts, fishing pier and restaurants. Would say OK. Might hop in for a short stay in future.

The pluses: We got a great rate via hotels.com at the last minute. It was very convenient, and within walking distance, to the Village shopping area. The minuses: The room was HOT, the window unit air conditioner was not on when we got there about 8 pm on an almost 100 degree day. Furniture and fake flowers were old and ragged. We forgot toothpaste--they […] had none available either for purchase, or to give us. Continental breakfast was modest. Conclusion: Would probably not go back, but it was OK. Devamı

This was a beautiful, clean hotel conveniently located in the heart of downtown St. Simons. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary. Nice shops and restaurants in walking distance, with the lighthouse just across the street. The beach was nice during low tide. Overall it's a nice hotel. Good location. Across from lighthouse, mini-golf, pool and pier. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Continental breakfast was limited though.

This room faces the ocean and the light house, balcony is over overlooking the pool area. It was a beautiful hotel and room with all dark wood floors. The hotel staff were wonderful! Also across the street was a recreational park for families with a beautiful area to cook out over looking the ocean! The bathroom could have been cleaner. Hotel is in a fantastic location.

The location was outstanding...we could walk everywhere...beach, boardwalk, restaurants! We would have loved a good balcony though and had only a 'fake balcony' or as they called it a 'stand up balcony'. The staff was super nice! Yes, we would stay there again and would recommend it, if you don't want the extras like room service, balcony, bar etc.

Hotel was difficult to find the first night. Good location by lighthouse, park and ocean front. Really liked the new wood floors in rooms instead of the usual "hotel cleaned" carpeting.

For the price it was a real steal.....just stay away from the continental breakfast. Location was perfect and really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the island there.

We truly enjoyed our stay there, nice hotel for the money. We do recommend it.

We had a great experience at the Ocean Inn & Suites. Overall, it's a quality hotel with outstanding customer service and a solid continental breakfast (bagels, pastries, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, juice and coffee). Close to the pier and a newly renovated park that was perfect for the kids.

Upon arrival we had an extra guest and was charged the expected up-charge amount. but were upgraded to a suite which was extremely comfortable and nicely decorated. The location was excellent having the "village", lighthouse and pier within easy walking distance. The staff was very friendly. Ocean Inn and Suites was beautiful! We stayed two nights. The location was perfect, within walking distance to the lighthouse, pier and downtown. The hotel staff was very friendly. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff left the food out for us when we overslept the first morning. The room was very comfortable, the bed and the sheets were extremely […] soft! My laptop crashed while I was there and I was staying there for business. I used their shared guest computer and it didn't do hardly anything I needed it to do. No slot for SD card to pull up pics, no printer hooked up to it. Very unaccomodating. The desk staff informed us upon arrival we had t pay $25 per night for a 3rd person that had to come at […] the last minute. We didn't budget for this expense. The manager was rude about it and offered no solution. Will not stay there again. Devamı

It was such a great experience for me and my family!! The workers at the front desk we great to work with us and so friendly. If we every have to travel there again we WILL be staying there!!

Staying at this hotel is a must when visiting St. Simon's. The location is perfect - ocean views and walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Also an ideal location for day trips around the island and to neighboring islands. The hotel itself was beautiful and very well maintained. The staff could not have been more helpful.
