Hotel Plevna - Sliema

The hotel is in a very good location with easy access to all popular places by bus. Not far away from restaurants and bars. Certainly worth of money. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel mixed up our booking meaning a non-balcony room was assigned. I complained and we were moved to a room with a balcony. However, the room stank of cigarettes (quilt also had a large number of cigarette burns on it) and this was not acceptable. We moved back into the first room and went without a balcony. The hotel offered to move us the next […] day - but this would have meant waiting for the other, non-cigarette smelling balcony room to be emptied, cleaned and then moving our stuff. We had a lot to do that day and so could not take this offer up. The matter still stands: we should have been given the correct room in the first place - this is our holiday and we didn't have time to keep switching rooms. The room we stayed in was uncomfortable for the first night because the aircon was blowing out hot air. I spent the night sweating - was told there was nothing that could be done until engineer clocked on the next day. This was fixed on the 2nd day as was the missing bath plug. Breakfast was fine - enough choice, coffee good but the juices available were watered down cordial - not good. The lifts in the hotel were very old and I did not feel safe using them: banged and jolted badly. The room was generally clean, although blankets at the bottom of the beds were grubby and were not clean on that day, the kettle had lots of loose limescale flakes in it. For a hotel that is on the cheaper side...everything was excellent! Staff were helpful and polite, the food served was really good and the hotel was clean and tidy all the time. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially the two ladies at reception, who were really helpful and worked to sort out a problem we had with a tour, and organised an early breakfast for us on our last morning. The room was good but the hot water ran out late at night. We didn't have a chance to try the beach club as it closed at 5 - I would […] recommend keeping it open for at least another hour, as it is still warm enough for people to want to swim till then. The air conditioning in the room worked well, and it was great to have a nice cool room to come to after a hot day. Awfull hotell. Looked like a hotell in Norway in the1970. The bathroom was awfull and the hotell wa full of teenagers. The reseptionists were not plesent, they didn't løøk ut when you arrived. The barhrooms was dirty and awfull made. Do not book at room there.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a week's stay at the Plevna Hotel and had a lovely time. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with everything we needed (air con, mini fridge). The rooms are far from soundproof (we could hear everything in the corridor), but there was nothing that caused us any problems. We were staying on a bed and breakfast […] basis and the breakfast in the hotel was great - a buffet with English breakfast and continental breakfast - plenty of choice and it always set us up for the day. It was really comfortable and we felt that, for what we were paying, we did very well. We didn't use the beach club, but we did swim in the sea nearby. The hotel's down a side street but right near the sea and near a good location for swimming. There's a bus stop for buses to Valletta at the end of the road and it's also only a few minutes' walk in the other direction to Sliema Ferries, where lots of boat trips leave from, along with more buses. There are good restaurants along the seafront between Sliema and St Julian's, which are all well priced and, in our experience, serve good food. This was a great base for exploring Malta. Devamı

Good location, quiet but very convient. Close to the beach and shopping area. Buffet breakfast good in terms of the prices we paid. The bathroom needs some updating but overall quite good.

On the positive side, this hotel is amazingly well located, minutes to get to shops/places to eat/busses. The staff were pleasant, the breakfast was good, and the hotel itself was increaibly clean. Plus it was lovely and quiet. On the downside, just a couple of little things - the everytime we used the shower, water would be all over the floor, and […] the matresses needed replacing and the lift was intermitant (which is why I can't recommemnd it to some of my family members). The hotel was friendly and it was like staying at a house, the floor levels varied and that made our area more private. A short walk down the road took us to the Plevna pool on the waters edge where we swam, had a drink in the bar and had access to the sea. Brilliant location for food and buses, I highly recommend it. My stay at the Plevna was very pleasant. There was a 24 hour reception and the cleaniness of the room was very good. Lots of amenities provided in the hotel room: fridge, kettle, wine glasses, cups, tea and coffee.

The hotel is in a good and quiet location. The staff were very nice and helpful, those in the restaurant a bit disorganised, but then everybody always seem to arrive at the same time. The breakfast was good. For what we paid it was good value. But - it was noisy because of the other guests - banging doors and on balconies - so not ideal with a 2 year […] old, and particularly noisy music from the bar on Friday. The hotel needs some work on it - doors that don't fit well and maybe hence the noise. Our toilet had constantly running water unless I manually adjusted the ball cock. Me and my friend spent one night at Plevna hotel and there are only two positive comments I have - the location (close to St. Julian's, ferries and sightseeing bus pick-ups, etc.) and a surprisingly tasty selection of food for breakfast. The hotel looks old and shabby, the room was cold, the shower did not work properly and there was hair in it, the […] beds were uncomfortable, the balcony was not cleaned - there was an ashtray full of smoked cigarettes, something spoiled on the floor. The hotel completely lived up to its expectation. We were expecting friendly, family-like treatment (unlike the "factory" approach from the biggies) and that is exactly what we got. The staff at the reception were extremely helpful (one of them even offered her personal umbrella when it was raining). The room was clean and well maintained. The room that we were earlier booked into had some issues with the mattress and we were given a replacement room (of a higher quality) without any increase in the price. We had a great experience at Hotel Plevna, Sliema, Malta. The staff were very friendly and could not have done more for us. As an example, we thought it would be useful to have hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang towels and clothes on and we made this suggestion to reception whilst on our way to breakfast. we knew it was only a 3 star hotel but I didn't expect a broken bed, a toilet window that didn't close, broken light fittings and dodgy lock on the patio doors. All matters were reported but the toilet window was not fixed. Hotel was in good location, breakfast was ok and service acceptable.

We took the B & B option so that we could explore the local cuisine in the evening. 'English' breakfast was available but we chose the continental style breakfast. Self service. Excellent selection of breads, cheeses and meats, together with fresh fruits and yoghourts, cakes and pastries, teas and coffees. Only complaint was that the fruit juice was […] not real juice. our en-suite room with balcony was clean and comfortable with excellent air-conditioning. There was no noise from traffic or corridors. We were just off the main street and only a few minutes walk from Sliema town centre, ferries and waterfront. Very convenient for scuba with Diveshack nearby. spent 1 week at the plevna hotel and for a 3 star it was fantastic first time i stayed below a 4 star but the plevna was worth every penny , i stayed bed and breakfast and there was ample of good food spoke to others who stayed half board and they said even that was good , staff were very helpful anjd went out there way to help if in need so overall […] a lovely place and will go back someday , thanx to all plevna staff steve and julie from corby england . Overall this is a good hotel. I was there on vacation and this hotel was sufficient. The staff was very friendly and helpful (however, be aware that most of the staff are interns from continental europe trying to learn the hotel business, so your experience may vary depending on the crop of interns they have). The rooms are nice and comfortable, but […] a bit dirty (moldy tiles in the shower, tv remote was just discustingly grimey and dirty). Rooms have airconditioning which in hot days is very nice. The free wifi internet connection is in the lobby, but not in the rooms; however, I discovered that if you are staying on first floor (as I was), you can get wifi in your room from the lobby router. So if that is important to you choose a first floor room. The beach club is nice but beware that the pool is very salty as I believe the source of water for the pool is the sea water. The location is very good. It's a quick walk to the shopping and the waterfront. There are a number of restaurants and bars, as well as boat tours, water taxis, and boat charters within walking distance. Overall a good hotel due to location and staff, but not a great hotel. I recommend it if you are planning on just using the hotel to wind down and sleep, and not much more. If you plan to use your hotel as a resort, then I would not recommend this hotel for you. Devamı

I last stayed at the Plevna Hotel over 40 years ago, but with the demolition of the nearby Crown Plaza this is now the most conveniently located hotel in Malta for me. It is very simple but really good value for money. Having a private area with pool on the local beach is a great advantage, although charging guests for use of sun loungers there seems […] a little mean. I ate only breakfast at the hotel and this was very good an plentiful. The bar could do with cheering up, and with air conditioning but given that there are plenty of alternatives locally this was not a problem. Good television lounge with large tv which meant I did not miss Wimbledon. I will certainly go back to the Plevna. Devamı

We went to Malta for a friend's wedding. Most of the wedding party stayed at the Meridian but we went for 10 days so that was a little out of our price range. A local friend recommended the Plevna and we were really pleased with it. Brilliant value - it was nicer than I'd expected. The service could have been better but as we discovered that seems to […] be just the way of the Maltese. By Maltese standards the service was really good. Depending on the exact location of your room you should probably pack ear plugs if you're a light sleeper as some rooms can be a bit noisy from the traffic outside and in others you get disturbed by people talking right outside your room, but these kind of things are definitely not limited to this hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone on a bit of a budget. (Free wi-fi in the lobby as well.) Devamı

Hotel Plevna was as I expected for the money that we paid. The hotel was clean enough, the bedroom was OK (apart from the shower maybe which was hanging off the wall but you get what you pay for and the water was hot) and there is a rooftop terrace with some tables and chairs and sunloungers. We were B&B, the breakfast was OK, we ate lunch at the pool […] bar a couple of times which was nice and you certainly get your money's worth of pasta! One bonus for us was that the hotel has free wi-fi downstairs (there is also free WiFi at Malta airport). The hotel is in a good location, 200 metres from the beach and long seafront pathway which leads around the bay into St Julians (with restaurants/bars along the way). The hotel pool area is on the seafront and there is also a kids play area before you get to the pool. The pool gets really busy on Saturdays and Sundays so if you are planning on doing a day trip somewhere do it on these days if you want to avoid not getting a space at the pool. There are plenty of places to eat and drink next to the seafront all which seem to be roughly the same price. The boat trips also leave from the port at Silema which is a 5min walk from the hotel. The area seemed pretty safe to us and we had no problems. Devamı

Given the 3* rating of this hotel, it represents excellent value. Yes the building is slightly run down in parts and could be done with a facelift but the hotel was very clean and comfortable. Our room was spacious with everything we needed and was cleaned thoroughly every day of our two week stay. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the […] service was certainly better than many 3* hotels. The breakfast wasn't amazing quality but was perfectly acceptable and there was such a huge selection of food everyone would find something they liked. The location is also ideal for the shops, restaurants and waterfront of Sliema and for accessing the rest of Malta. The Plevna hotel was very close to Sliema bus and ferry terminal, also to The Point a brand new shopping complex. The hotel offered very comfortable accomodation at a very competative price. Not a 4 star hotel but lounge areas and bar areas very comfortable. The dining room could maybe have a make over. All in all a very good stay. Standarden på Malta generelt er ganske lav, så man kan ikke forvente all verdens. Men hotellet var helt ok, mye støy fra fuglene på utsiden om morgenen - hver dag. Det kan man vel ikke skylde på hotellet for .. De la på overmadrass når vi ba om det og byttet til separate dyner da vi ba om det. Veldig hyggelig og behjelpelig personale. 3 stars, really..? Nice lobby, but smelly, dirty and old rooms (smell comes from moisture and mold) with lots of problems like TV didn't work, tap was broken etc. Cheap hotel attracts young students who party and run around all night long and make a lot of noise.

First we got room 121, which had a bad smell. The receptionist first offered to fix it with a spray, but we asked if we could have another room. We were them given room 501, which did not smell, but the double bed was much smaller and we had to share the linen. the worst part about the room was that it was close to the elevator, which was really noisy […] when it went up and down and when it stopped it was with a loud sound. The breakfast buffet was fine and better than expected of a hotel in this price range The waiter made a big fuss about explaining the choices, which was unnecessary as they were all displayed in the buffet. L' Hotel Plevna è in una strada poco frequentata, quindi è abbastanza tranquillo, ma vicinissimo alla fermata del bus, a ristoranti e negozi ed alla passeggiata lungomare. das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in Sliema, sowohl Bushaltestelle als auch die Fähre sind in weniger als 5 Minuten zu erreichen. Das Hotel hat zwar einige kleine Macken, die aber den positiven Gesamteindruck nicht schmälern. Die Zimmereinrichtung hat die besten Zeiten schon hinter sich, ist aber ok. Das Frühstück war eine Mischung aus englischem und kontinetalem […] Frühstück, daher vielseitig. Das Hotelpersonal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unser Zimmer hatte einen Balkon, dieser war allerdings sehr klein. Das Zimmer war sauber und leise. Wer hauptsächlich Übernachtung und Frühstück braucht und überwiegend unterwegs ist, ist in diesem Hotel genau richtig. Devamı

Hotelpersonal teilweise unfreundlich und mürrisch, die Frühstückszeiten sind absolut ungenügend - von 7 bis 9 Uhr, und das auch am Wochenende, d.h. ab 8.30 Uhr wurde auch nichts mehr nachgelegt. Der Frühstücksraum war leider außerdem sehr dunkel und sehr heiß. Im Zimmer war die Badewanne nicht oder nur ungenügend geputzt und konnte nur mit Badeschlappen […] betreten werden. Die Balkontür war nicht befestigt und konnte nur mit großem Aufwand geöffnet werden. Das erste Zimmer, welches wir hatten, war verschimmelt, man hat versucht einen Wasserschaden unter Rigipsplatten zu verbergen, der Geruch war ekelerregend und hat Übelkeit verursacht. Das Ersatzzimmer hat dann gepasst. Entgegen der Beschreibung gab es in unserem Zimmer keine Fernbedienung zum Fernseher, kein Satellitenfernsehen (es blieben 3 Sender) und Wifi war nicht kostenlos. la pulizia delle camere lascia a desiderare, cosi come la manutenzione. Uno dei due letti nella nostra stanza era semi sfondato ed una molla usciva dal letto. Inoltre lenzuola e federe sono cambiate, ma la coperta sembra non essere mai stata lavata. L'internet dell'albergo é lentissimo e per scaricare la posta ci vuole più di mezz'ora, mentre la sala […] colazione é piccola e bisogna fare la fila fuori la mattina per entrare. Unico punto a favore la posizione discreta a metà strada tra Valletta e Saint Julian e a 10 minuti a piedi dalla zona ristorante di sliema. Devamı

酒店总体不错，但卫生间马桶很旧。自助晚餐性价比不错，适合不想去外面餐厅吃饭的人。酒店门口有公交车，去各个地方都很方便。附近还有各家乐福，采购便利。住宿时间太短，没有好好利用酒店的游泳池，比较遗憾了。

Hotel Plevna ligger centralt - tæt på shopping, promenade og tur/transport muligheder til hele øen. Hotellet har en beach klub ca. 200 meter fra, hvor der er ok pool, strandstole, mulighed for leje af håndklæder og adgang til havet.
