I was very surprised at the high quality and amenities with free wifi and business center at my disposal, atm machine, at such a reasonable price. I was there 8 days during the Tahrir Square demonstrations and as a single woman alone was not afraid (a great guide /driver helped). Great food in the main restaurant, reasonably priced, a fine breakfast buffet with a caraf of coffee in my table! The 8th floor pool area was a wonderful place to relax though unfortunately not heated. The room with king size bed was quiet , 4 English channels, great movie channel. You couldn't see the Pyramids due to fog and pollution but not a real draw back. Because the streets are littered with garbage and the traffic and honking is constant one might believe there is a lot of danger. It is just another culture and I got to understand that quickly and accepted it all. But I highly recommend hiring the driver. It makes it all doable and easy. Tipping outside the hotel can be very expensive if you haven't budgeted for it but for what you are getting is is actually a very good deal. Devamı

I was pleased with this hotel even after I changed from a very expensive Cairo Marriott. Barcelo is well located on the very famous Al-Ahram boulevard, 10 minutes ride from the pyramids and 10 minutes from the Giza subway station. The members of the staff are very friendly, like elsewhere in Cairo, I was getting an extra bonus each time they noticed […] that I speak the language although I’m originally from Morocco. the hotel is quit clean. Unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to try their food because I had meals plans elsewhere, but the breakfast buffet looked really, really good. The downsides are: - There was no coffee in the rooms, at least in my room, or elsewhere, except if you want it get serviced. - The AC vent was noisy and was blowing directly to the bed. - My room didn’t have any window, I’m sure it’s not the case for the rest of the rooms. It didn’t bother me because I didn’t spend much time in my room anyway. - The door of my room was not closing properly, I had to pull hard on my way out. I booked a delux room with two single bef when check in they gave me normal room without telling me no room available for delux room. i allergic to carpet immediately I brought the attention to front desk , they upgraded me but is a king size bed .. overall the hotel is up to my expectation .. staff excellent service , helpful . don't take the cab from […] hotel or cab beside hotel . walk 3 minute away to take a cab with meter .. Hi, It's an overall good, clean & comfort hotel, the only problem I experienced & made a big problem for me is the crowded loud busy street it overlooks as I'm very light sleeper. I do recommend this very good hotel to anyone else if the noise isn't a problem.

The hotel itself is 4 star but the location is scary. The hotel driver told us on the last day that the buildings behind are brothels. The airport transfer cars are old. I used the hotel tour desk and they dropped us off with the dodgiest people to do pyramids. I had asked the hotel how much pyramid tour would cost and he wouldnotgiveme an newer telling […] me I had to barter. I asked if the drivers could help do that and he said es but they disappeared as soon as they dropped us off. The tour people made me feel very unsafe. The hassled us constantly during the tour about giving more money even though we had given generous tips too. They rushed us t the pyramids and gave us very little information. I would recommend staying in five star hotel as they would deal with a professional company. We Stayed five star for rest of our trip in middle east and it was a totally different experience... Safer and professional with knowledgable guides organised. Otherwise... Stay at the hotel but organise transfers and tours with a outside professional company yourself. Breakfast was very good. Once you get to the hotel, it is a good location to see the pyramids. It costs about 25USD to get to Giza from the airport. The restaurants at the hotel are solid, but breakfast is really good. The prices of the tourist agent in the hotel seem fairly reasonable. Easy to get a driver and go around Cairo or Giza. Do not book this hotel if you are looking […] to fall asleep looking at the pyramids. You can see them if you're in the perfect location in the restaurant or the pool deck. Really friendly people. I have stayed at a lot of hotels in Cairo and compared to these hotels Barcelo is very clean and in good condition and at the same time at a reasonable price. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was the breakfast and it was also expensive. However, my overall opinion is good and I will definitely choose this hotel the next time.

Went to Egypt partly for business and partly for leisure at the beginning of May and had found a discount offer for this hotel via website . Really nice hotel, I personally enjoyed my 3-day stay. I stayed at Barcelo Pyrmaids for five nights with my wife and I have to say it was a pleasant stay. We took a junior suite, which had a living room with a two seater and one single seater sofa and a mini bar. The BC Pyramids hotel was nice and clean, but did not live up to the standards we were expecting. The staff was quite rude and hungry for tips. The airconditioning in our room did not work. Of the 3 restaurants on site, only 1 was actually open the entire week we were there. And you need the hotel restaurant because there is nowhere to eat nearby meaning […] more taxi trips which are quite expensive. A warning for anyone using the taxi/tour service located in the hotel lobby. One guy, I didn't catch his name was quite helpful and honest. He explained their price sheet and worked with us from there. The other tried to dupe us and threw out some outrageous prices and never even pulled out his price sheet. Luckily we knew what to expect so we didn't work with him. Just make sure they show you the prices on their print out sheet!!! But really, if you want a good tour company we highly reccomend Memphis tours. They were amazing. We contacted them on very short notice and they were prompt and efficient in replying and arranging every thing we wanted to see. Our guide Turk was very knowledgeable and so fun. The location is good, along the Pyramids Road - not in the heart of downtown but an easy taxi ride away, and quieter, with heaps of fastfood (McDonalds, Pizza Hut and more, along with Egyptian chains) and regular restaurants nearby. You can walk either to the Metro at Giza Square (about a mile and a half) or to the Pyramids (maybe 2 and a half miles) […] - there is usually a sidewalk and the terrain is pretty flat except just before the entrance to the Pyramids. The breakfast buffet which was included in my rate was very acceptable, virtually identical to what I got at my much more pricey hotel in Luxor. The wifi was included in my rate and was good enough, worked in the room. I was upgraded to a junior suite which was sweet :-) The lobby cafe serves beer for about $6 for a large Stella (not Artois, it's the local Egyptian brand). I had a club sandwich which was acceptable but relatively pricey at ~$8. There is a rooftop pool which is unheated so I didn't use it in my January stay. Hotel is OK...everything working, hot water, compfortable room. Some of the staff are trying to be friendy but overall the staff are not very warm. It's not a bad hotel. It's fine. The problem lies in the culture of service in Cairo. We ordered a car to collect us at the airport and agreed to pay 17 Euros for it. It never came. The hotel collected other people at the same time as us, but did not have enough nous or ability to organise travel for us. The transportation staff are over priced and […] while helpful, it is better to organise this before you leave home, and not with this hotel. My strong reaction to my experience in Egypt and Cairo is that it is almost impossible to travel there without a guide. Every taxi driver and tour organiser we met as independent travellers tried to extort money. The hotel is not to blame for this, and it does it's best with restaurants and so on, but the feeling we had was that we were simply there to provide tips for everything, they open the door and they expect a tip. It leaves a bad taste. Having said that, i suspect it might be one of the better hotels in Cairo. Also note the location. It's not Giza, and it's not the centre. The staff was very friendly and cooperative when asking around places near by. The location, is not the nearest to the pyramids, but its in a 10 min cab ride away. The room was spacious and I really appreciated the fruit basket included. For the price I don't regret staying at the hotel, besides its a Barcelo after all.

Unfortunately, this hotel was not the safest with regards to my personal valuables. The location is convenient and most of the people do try to make your stay comfortable. However, please keep all valuables with your person at all times and do not keep any in the guest rooms.

The Hotel was clean generally, it was not situated in a very pleasant area, the staff were generally friendly, however I found that apart from the reception staff, very few of the other staff spoke english.

There was hair in the bathroom. No window view but the side of another building which is like 3 meters away. I was not able to let my friend come to my room to be able to use my laptop to book his flight! they said It is not allowed in muslims a country like Egypt althought they are already serving alcohol drink! Outstanding value. Attention to detail. Unless you are taking a tour bus to the sights, plan to leave around 07:00. (I like to head out by 5 and watch the place wake up. This is Cairo). The 8th floor pool is a must. A one min walk to the right and around the corner will get you to a coffee shop, a wicked bakery, and a hole in the wall street food place […] that makes the kindest potato chips on the spot! Five mins to the left is a pastery shop that will make your eyes bug out. You can buy all the sweets you can eat for two days for the price of a kiddy burger. I was in Cairo for a week and I made the Barcelo my second stop for three days. The first four were just a little N.E. of "T" Square which was an easy ride from the AP. If you try to get to the Barcelo from the AP between 6am and 10pm, well lets just say that the 2~3 hours in Cairo trafic will feel like about 5~7 hours and your day will be shot. I took the metro from Ataba to Giza Station, and walked to the Barcelo all in about 2 hours. My taxi ride to the AP at 5am took all of 20 min. The hotel has everything you could want, served on polished alabaster. (But you won't see Cairo from a hotel window or sitting on a tour bus) Devamı

My recent stay at the Barcelo Pyramids Hotel in Giza was defined by the 2 "P"'s - the Pyramids (which I could see from my room) and the pool on the 8th floor Osiris terrace which was a real oasis at the end of a busy day. The deluxe Pyramids facing room I had booked was quite reasonable in size and was well appointed although there was nothing other […] than water in the mini-bar (you can ask to have it filled with other items apparently...) It was good to have an in-room safe and the bathroom was well-stocked and a good size. Breakfast in the first floor restaurant was excellent, especially the omelettes which were freshly made to order. Room service was a little on the slow side (an Egyptian characteristic!) but the food was hot and of good quality. Try the Italian restaurant if you decide to dine in - it was first class. Sadly, the Pyramids restaurant on the top floor (which has spectacular views across to the Pyramids) was closed for re-furbishment during my visit but it looks a great spot for an evening meal. The hotel location in Giza is great for visits to the Pyramids, the Sound and Light Show and the Sphinx although it is quite a trek to and from the airport. With friendly staff, attractive room rates and a lovely pool to enjoy the Cairo sunshine, the Barcelo Pyramids was a great place to stay in Cairo. Devamı

I've traveled to Egypt to visit my friend. You should read about Egypt before making decision: you can see more donkeys on their streets that anywhere in the World (I think) and some crowded small streets might smell bad. Learn all tricks first; never […] accept anything for free (example: souvenir in pyramids area) - there is nothing for free in this World. Someone will charge you soon or later. Always ask for price first - do not accept "pay as much as you want"; even for simple photo with camel - ask price first! Not sure how they make food but it is tasty. I've spent 7 nights in this hotel. The room was nice and clean expect floor - they've forgotten to vacuum (clean) it. If you need them to clean the room make sure that you leave an appropriate sign on the door; same is for linen - sign on the bed. Keep in mind that their cleaning personnel work up to 5PM (main crew). I had to talk to reception regarding the floor (carpet supposed to be vacuum cleaned); their manager heard my compliant. They took immediate action and apologized couple times. As I felt some pain in stomach (water; weather...) they offered to find doctor for me. They were later checking on me so I felt even shy! We stayed seven days at the Barcelo. We don't spend a lot of time in our hotel, but the time we were there was very nice. The staff was exceptionally friendly and receptive. I read a comment about trying to get an adapter, we bring our own, but there is one build in the hair dryer in the bathroom. The rooms were clean and quiet and everything worked […] fine. I swam every morning in the pool on the 8th floor and we sat out here at night after returning from the magnificent sights of Cairo and beyond. The neighborhood is fine, it's Egypt, the people are friendly and food is fantastic. Try to get checkered cabs and you won't have trouble with fares in taxis. We stayed only 1 night, but loved this hotel. Food great, rooms were perfect. Will recommend this to anyone. Its only 10mins from the pyramids and on the right side of town. Just 11 le in the taxi. Perfect for the sound and light show.
