Vien Dong Hotel - Ho Chi Minh City

Stayed in a suite on the 4th floor. Had two bathrooms but didn't really need the extra room. TV didn't work but the fixed that within minutes of asking. Good location. Room was facing the street and was quite noisey in the early morning. buffet breakfast was just OK? For the price I would stay here again!

My family had a good time here, on our third stay at this hotel, especially when we were on the 9th floor. It was nice to come back to this hotel and see many of the same staff working. They will take good care of you. Comfortable rooms (we stayed in Deluxe).

The service is very satisfactory ....

Perfect place for a young (well we are 35) & all the bars, markets & shops etc 5 min walk. Excellent for a couple of days.

At a good room rate you are right in the heart of district 1 and where all the tourist action is happening. Good staff, clean rooms, central location. Good place to start a vietnam holiday before you get out and explore. Close to all the action and a nice park across the road where you can escape the hustle of the streets.

The hotel was good but we'd booked for 4 adults but when we came in there's only 1 queen size bed. We've asked them why and they said that we've booked for 2. And we'd gave them the booking received, they said they don't know why. Anyway they still charge us for 4 adults and we have to slept on the sofas.

Live it large for a reasonable price per night. Never mind the noise from the night market, adds to the environ.

No Iron or ironing board provided for guests at this hotel which caused some inconvenience.

This hotel is has high ambient noise levels in the room due to thin walls and slamming doors. It is constructed with a central courtyard concept. Too much noise from the staff during daylight hours. Staff have limited to poor language skills.

Smallish room with window looking into a central courtyard. A clean & fully functional room. Breakfast was decent. The hotel's location is perfect for access to the lively backpacker district. the hotel and room were fine, clean and basic, just what i wanted. The location was great too. However the staff (reception!) weren't all that friendly, had to argue with receptionist about my reservation, turned out I was right (that yes I had payed for a room for 3 people and didnt need to pay any extra fees) but never got a "so sorry" or whatever. […] Breakfast was ok, but it definitely caters more to Asians. Staff were excellent and very attentative to our needs. They helped us communicate with the police (who are not to be trusted) and sorting out rooms for extra friends who just arrived. All spoke very good english and had excellent knowledge of the area. This is right in the heart of backpacker zone so all the tour companies are right next door.

I emailed hotel in advance asking if I booked at this hotel would my girlfriend be allowed to visit room but that she would not be staying overnight. They said ok, until 11pm daily. On checking in I was met with a stone-cold "NO NOT THE POLICY OF THE HOTEL". Then after dispute, said ok, Then later the porter spoke to my gf like she was a prostitute […] and said that she could visit only on the arrival day. Room smelt of food cooking from kitchen below, and 5am DAILY radio sound from kitchen. Staff coming and going and relaxing in empty hotel ooms during the day. Room floors NEVER cleaned. Staff rude and efficious. Cleaning staff yelling out to each other and make a lot of noise. Will never stay here again! Devamı

Usually in Saigon I am at the Caravelle. Due to a conference I was booked here for 4 nights. Service by everyone, Doormen, Frontdesk, Room attendants, restaurant were all incredible. Wonderful service, clean rooms, will stay here again when I return in August.

Our first night in Vietnam. We chose based on Trip Advisor comments and happy to say that we had a good stay at Vien Dong. Staff friendly, location handy and rooms good. Busy street out front but our room was further back.

The hotel has great rooms and room cleanliness is very good for a 3 star property. The location though not too cozy is convenient for evening walks and accessibilty to Ben Thanh market makes it a great property. Taxi availability is awesome and the staffs in front offer a lot of help in crossing streets and help pick taxi's. Overall a very good hotel […] and worth every penny spent which is important. Very good location and comfortable hotel. The receptionist advised us not to use the hotel transport to the airport as it costs 4 times more than a taxi. We were very happy to be advised about this. The staff was friendly and helped us across the road with our luggage. The room was very neat and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to others. Didn't know that this hotel restricts Vietnamese from entering up the room, even for a while... my friend brought me from the airport to this hotel, but was refused up to see my room. I had booked a deluxe room specially to let her stay comfortably, or at least have a look, but had disappointed her...quite a waste though. Hotel was nice, as were the rooms. Not as spacious as I had imagined but given that it was my first visit to Vietnam, I couldn't have been happier. Staff was extremely happy and helpful and spoke English well.

We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights and were pleasantly surpised at the cleanliness of the place and the fact that they had complete amenities for the very affordable rate! Good breakfast buffet with DELISH coconut tart! It was located right across Park 9/23, which held the International Culinary Festival(lots of food and free cultural shows). Hotel location is a bit far from Ben Thanh Market but very near to Sinh Cafe travel. We use this travel agent to book our trip to Dalat. We had our rooms away from the street. Friendly english speaking staff. Even help us cross the busy street with our luggage when the taxi stops at the opposite side of the hotel. Front desk staff has very good knowledge and recommendation of where to eat and shop!Location is walking distance to Ben Than Market, very convienient with bakery shop and small eateries nearby. For a three star hotel it behaved like a four star. The staff were efficient and polite. The hotel offers exceptional value for money. The breakfast is good. The hotel staff were helpful about odd requests and helping me avoid tourist spots. I will be returning.

Nice and friendly staff and easy access to bars and cafes. A bit far from beh thanh market if you walk and sound insulation of hotel room is not good. Overall value for money.

Ideal location, lovely room and breakfast was fairly same same but quite edible. If you are here for a couple of days it is well worth considering this place.

The hotel is in the backpacker quarter of the city, and that's what you get. Only, instead of paying 10 bucks, you pay considerably more. The surrounding area is a grungy tourist mecca -- the pretty parts of the city are down by the opera house where (not surprisingly) all the nice hotels are. I stayed in two different rooms in Vien Dong; each had a […] funky smell. There are holes in the carpet...MOST UPSETTING though was a continual lack of any customer service. At first, I just shrugged off the indifferent hotel receptionist. But when I got badly injured in their superslick bathtub (BEWARE THE BATHTUBS) they wouldn't help let me add the cab ride to the hospital onto my credit card or help me in any way. I was leaving in a few hours and was out of cash. I had credit cards galore and simply wanted the hotel to charge my card or add it to my bill. They flatly refused and looked at me blankly as I stood in front of them with a broken jaw and a bleeding chin with 7 stitches. Again, it was their super slick bathtub that landed me in the hospital in the first place. AWFUL PLACE. I'm the least litigious person in the world but I'd love to sue them. Devamı

The hotel is well located in district 1 which has lots of eateries and places of interest. All the places worth visiting are located within walking distance of the hotel - the furthest we walked was 25 minutes to the Ho Chi Minh museum. The streets and side streets in and around the hotel are chock a block full of eateries to cater to all tastes. The […] side streets have many cosy food places where you can actually watch them cook up your dishes. Food is cheap and good. Our only complaint is the traffic which, to one used to orderly traffic flows, is utter chaos!! You have to follow the lead of the locals and cross the streets slowly and steadily between the weaving motor cycles and scooters. don't make sudden stops and starts as you are crossing. The motor cyclists will weave their way around you. Depending on the time of year, make sure you bring lots of sun block if you are there in July and also a raincoat. it is scorching in the morning and by lunch time it pours. I choose Vien Dong Hotel after seeing all the good reviews on tripadvisor and I am glad to say that I have made the right choice. The hotel location is near all the tour agencies and also a walking distance to Ben Thanh market. The room is clean, modern, well maintained and comfortable. The security guards at the hotel were friendly and give no qualms […] about helping us out with directions and recommendations. It was simply wonderful! There was no question asked when we checked in about our 2 kids, though when we booked, we were unable to edit the number of guests reflected, as we read that max number of occupants is 3-2 adults and 1 kid, in many other websites. Though it's only a 3-star hotel, its service is much better than a 5-star hotel we have stayed […] in District 5 previously. The buffet breakfast has a generally good spread and the staff were friendly. Definitely a great hotel worthy for its price. Devamı

This is a very good hotel, not that old and is a gem. It is in a very good position just a small walk to the market, where they love to barter, start off at 1/3 of original and work your way up. We had so much fun here and compared to Thailand its cheap. The hotels meals are good but if you venture out at night their are cheaper and very good restaurants […] just around the corner. The Hotel staff are helpful especially when crossing the street. Internet was free and we could not complain about the hotel at all. Stayed 4 nights. Nice place. Quiet in back rooms. Good breakfast. Good location. Guards helped us cross the street through the motorcycles.

The hotel is well positoned near bars, restaurants and travel agents. We had a room at the back so it was fairly quiet. lt was also the softest bed we had in all of Viet Nam. lt was walking distance to the central Ben thanh market. The security guards were absolutley fantastic in helping us cross the roads, get cabs etc

방은 매우 좁고 화장실도 비좁아 불편.. 그러나 호치민 데탐 거리의 좋은 위치와 비교적 넓직한 로비.. 가장 좋은 것은 고급시설을 갖춘 사우나스타일의 마시지.. 가까운 여행사에 당일치기 여행을 예약해 다녀오고 마사지에서 피로를 풀기에는 좋음 바로 근처의 좀더 저렴한 호텔도 추천할 만.. 만원이면 푸짐한 부페가 차려져 만족..

滞在初日からオーバーブッキングで部屋がなく、ダブルをブッキングしたのにツインにとなることになる。部屋を変えてくれと言うと部屋がないから、シングルベットつなぎ合わせて使えばいいじゃないかとのアドバイスを受ける。そうだね、と受け入れられるわけもないが、まあベトナムだと割り切ってあきらめる。 全体的には親切でいい人が多いし、数回泊まってるからいいけど、初めての場合ショックは大きいかも。 特に深夜便で到着した場合疲れてるから、かなりダメージかも・・・

다양한 서비스도 좋았지만 조식 김치의 맛...한국인을 배려한 듯합니다 청결도 매우 만족하였고 공원이 보여 활기찬 하루를 시작하기도 매우 좋은 곳같네요 가족끼리 가신다면 적극 추천해 드리고 싶네요 다만 오토바이 소리가 좀...^^
