Enjoyed my stay :)

Had to call the hotel after waiting outside for the night manager. He was fast asleep and told me i was supposed to ring the bell. Told him i did but he never heard it. Dead roach in the bathroom. Smoke alarm went off for no reason. Had to pull the battery.

I was in town for a cheerleading competition, so we weren't in the room very much. For someone on a very tight budget it worked. However, the beds were extremely hard there was mold in the shower, but the microwave and fridge were clean. The staff seemed pleasant. If I were in need of a very cheap stay this would be the place. It was a good deal.The room was good and the people who cleaned the room came every morning.The wi-fi was good and fast.Great place for a weekend with friends If you are bargin hunting.The only short coming was they don't have a elevator,but the exercise was good for me.I will be staying there again.

It is not the Hilton but is a good place to stay for the buck. Located accross the street from the ocean, it has easy access to all points of interest in the area. We found it to be a quite and clean facility. We stayed right next to the office, and unlike one review, we did not notice any spice orders coming from the office area except when we entered […] it to get the key. As we were in the area for business reasons, I was put up for two nights on the ocean front by the people I was doing business with. Stayed at the Virginian by myself for two nights as a woman in my mid-twenties, and felt quite safe, having exercising a little common sense (I didn't go out alone in the middle of the night). I asked for a non-smoking room, and the room did not smell like smoke and was clean and simple, if not the Hilton. The room came equipped with a TV, microwave, […] and small fridge, but no alarm clock. The Wi-Fi Internet worked well. The bed was very firm, but not uncomfortable to my taste. The showerhead was a little low, so I imagine if you're a tall person this might be a slight nuisance. The hotel manager was pleasant and business-like to me, and very watchful over the hotel (which I appreciated). He was also working the desk when I arrived, and I showed him my receipt from my Hotels.com reservation and he seemed very familiar with it (I had been a little afraid he would try to re-charge me, but that wasn't the case). The Virginian sits on the opposite side of the road as the ocean, but the ocean is visible between buildings and within very short walking distance if you walk through the parking lots of the other hotels. It was just fine. We read the other reviews and were worried. But when we went we found the staff to be kind, polite and helpful. The hotel is older but clean and we (a mother/daughter) felt safe. Our frig and microwave worked and we had plenty of functioning plugs. The linens were clean and not stained. We found most of what was said that was neg. […] was not true. If you're reading reviews on hotels in this price range then you're looking for the same thing I am - a safe, clean, quiet place to sleep for a night or two without spending a hundred bucks. This is it. No frills. Nothing special. But also no funky smells, no random stains on the bedding, and no surprises in the bathroom.

A complete disappointment. The efficiency room provided nothing more than a stove and a sink; no pots or pans, no dishes, no eating utinsiles, no coffee pot, no ice trays.... Room did not have an iron and only enough towels for two people, eventhough I notified the front desk that I had two children with me. Comforter had burn holes, the carpet had […] iron burns (maybe that is why the room did not have an iron), and the tub was missing a stopper to take a bath. Was a "bingo" trip. Not many hotel amenities but was great for us! Very great rate. Saved us a lot of money to go do various activities. Would stay again!

While the female owner was very nice, her husband followed every move we made while at the hotel. So much he stared us down while using the pool. The room was basically clean. BUT the carpet is filthy and sticky. The room smelled of a mixture of Curry and whatever air freshener they had in the room. The air freshener was so strong, I almost had an asthma […] attack and had to leave the door open to air the room out. Our first room was decent. It was clean and on the ground floor as I requested because I had a sprained ankle. The beds were really firm and the air conditioner was loud but it worked well. the shower had a lot of pressure and the bathroom was clean. However, we had to move rooms since the special one I requested was only available for 2 days. The 2nd […] room reeked of smoke, had no water pressure, the a/c barely trickled out, and the bed was hard and lumpy. The water pressure in the shower was so low I literally couldn't wash my hair. The owners were nice and apologized, sprayed odor spray and offered the only other available room which was on the second floor. I couldn't walk up to it on crutches so we stayed in that room but it was not pleasant. If we could have stayed in the first room it would have been fine. The hotel is run down but it was cheap. It's farther down the strip but not too far from family kingdom. The beach is right across the street so close but no view. Devamı

Cheap, clean and fairly comfortable... If you just want a place to sleep, this isn't a bad hotel at all.

We enjoyed our stay at The Virginian. We will be back there on our next visit to Myrtle Beach. The manager went out of his way to make our stay as nice as it could be. I would recommend this motel to families who are looking for comfort at an affordable price.

We had a very nice stay. It is afordable, so you can have money in your pocket and have a nice vacation. Very clean. Had lots of fun.

We were told there was a stove and there wasn't and we were also told it was right on the beach. It is a good price but it is too far from everything. I probably want stay there the next time because of the location and we had to take 4 flight of steps, but other than that it was ok. You get what you pay for.

Staff was very nice, but it is an older motel. We saw two roaches in the room shortly after we checked in.

Small family-run business. It's a bit run down but the rooms are clean. Shower heads are very low. I'm five eight and had to crouch down to wash my hair. Wi-fi was pretty much nonexistent during my stay. I was only able to get a connection one time. If you're looking for a place to sleep and shower and don't need many amenities, this is the place […] for you. No alarm clock, hair dryer, iron, etc. Just the basics. Devamı

I had recently gotten back from deployment and I wanted to take my girlfriend to Myrtle Beach for our first time. As soon as we pulled up, it looked like the place belonged in the ghetto. All the surrounding hotels/motels looked alot nicer. The one good thing about this place was alot of parking. There were ants on the counter by the "1930" stove. They […] do not even provide you a coffee pot in the room. The toilet water kept running when we call the front desk, they came to look at it. When he eventually arrived (35 min after the call), he said that he doesnt know why the water keeps running. IT IS located right across the street from the beach. It is walking distance. The surrounding rooms were very loud and all you heard were kids crying. I WOULD NOT SPEND ANOTHER NIGHT HERE AGAIN. Devamı

We'll Be Back! Good accommodations at a good price when you compare it to others around the area. The rooms were not the Ritz, but they were well maintained, the bathrooms were clean, and the AC worked great. We're a family of seven and got two adjoining rooms. We got the top floor and could see the beach from our windows. It's only a mile to the Family […] Kingdom parks, and can be walked if so desired. We walked Ocean Blvd and King's HWY several times to eat and shop. The staff was friendly and willing to please. The pool is a definite plus, and was also well maintained. The motel room was clean for an older room. The pool was nice. The manager (he) was nice and very helpful. There was a slight issue with outlets, not enough for everything to be charging and plugged in. For as hot as it was, the air worked ok but we had it turned all the way down. this was the highlight of a week long vacation friendly people nic clean rooms comfortable beds and would stay again and reccomend this hotel without resservation

Well my roomate and me stay in the hotel from sunday to saturday from 3 to the 9 it was pretty good condicion if you are single and with friends i recommended if you are married it depends how you are when it comes to condition and the room that we got it only had a microwave but overall it was good!

Hotel was in good/safe location. good for the last minute trip me and my husband planned. but would not stay as a family there. Minimal cleaning was done, towels and rags were dirty, fridge wasn't very clean. No elevator and 4 floors of rooms. WIFI didn't work well, pool looked dingy. this hotel is NOT in walking distance of Family Kingdom or main strip […] as advertised. Rooms and main office had a "funny smell" not sure why. The best part is they dont have a ice machine and charge $2 for ICE at a HOTEL, something that is usually free at a HOTEL. This hotel, might I say, was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at based on cleanliness and service. Beginning with the room, it was disgusting. My frind while on the trip went to Walmart and bought cleaning supplies to disinfect the room and bathroom. When giving towels there was small drops of blood on handwash and dry off towel. I would make sure […] to definitely bring your own towel and do no even consider using theirs. A bug came out of the sheets, would recommend Lysol to spray on sheets. Better yet, I would not even consider this place to stay. The only convenience was the walking distance from the beach. (Just cross one road) I love the beach and location to it was good, but I would recommend to stay at the Viking which is right across the street and is on the beach. Devamı

Great location within walking distance of most attractions and beaches. Security of the site could be a bit better but the manager was very helpful and vigilant.

This motel was located one block from the beach. The motel could use some upgrades, especially the bath rooms and beds (linens in bath room were dirty). Nevertheless, the price of the room was great. If you need one night accomodations, I definitely recommend this motel!!! I would not recommend for person with kids or mobility challenges!!!

Housekeeping never came to clean the rooms or empty the trash. Had no fresh towels. Beds were uncomfortable. A/C never really cooled room. Worse place I've stayed in some time.

The hotel was ok you get what you pay for the service was ok my only issue was the room smelled horrible but we went to walmart got some spray and enjoyed our vacation I wouldnt recommend this place to an older couple but younger or college students this place is great !!! And the beach is right across the street !!

We had no problems with our stay.. the only issue is we had to prepay in advance for our family members to stay on the designated date, and when one of the family was not able to show up we couldnt receive a refund, so we payed in advance for a room that ended up empty with no one staying in it.

the virginian was not a nice motel at all. the owner's were rude and when i got there they didn't even have my reservations that i made on hotel.com. they made me pay more then what i was told to pay by hotel.com. the rooms were kinda clean but the problem that bothered me the most was the owner's was constantley watching you trying to figure out if […] you was doing any little thing so they could take your deposit. Inexpensive, clean, but lousy tv remote.

On our visit i was very dissapointed with this hotel. The front desk worker was very rude. The hotel stinks inside horribly and is very filthy. It was very dirty inside. I had a hard time sleeping because was afraid of touching anything. I had a feeling i might catch some disease in this room. I would never reccomend this hotel to anyone. Ever.

We stayed for 2 days at another resport and then at the Virginian. Much more affordable for a decent room, clean, cool, had a fridge and microwave, cable. Not the Ritz but not the price of the Ritz. Will return! Felt safe there. Nice owners and great cleaning crew.

If you like cheap hotel then this is a great place. it is very near the beach. There are a ton of resort there. so you can meet a lot of people. Everything is in walking distance. You have to pay for ice and soap and small stuff like that. My bed had burn holes. You do not get a iron in your room. Low price but it is not that very nice

As far as the cleanliness of the room goes there was what appeared to be a little black mold growing in the outer edges of ceiling in my room right where it met the wall. I realize my rating of the comfort is a very personal rating, but I have to say that in my 48 years of living and doing a good amount of traveling I've never slept in a bed as hard […] and uncomfortable as the one I had at the Virginian. It almost felt as uncomfortable as sleeping on the floor it was so hard. To some people that may be great, but for me it really made for a vacation of no quality sleep. The one area that this hotel really excelled in was in the service side of the house. The staff (especially the people working the front desk were very friendly and helpful. For that reason I wish I could give this hotel strait 5 star ratings, but there are a couple areas that do require some attention. Unfortunately as much as I liked the staff there I will not stay there again. Devamı
