we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ees Wyke country house, stunning views, fantastic food, very comfortable room, we would definitely visit again and look forward to doing so.

Very good hotel, excellent views and very quiet. Breakfast is superb and dinner smelled very good too. Wish we had booked for evening dinner. Everything you could ever need is in your room even down to nail files nothing is overlooked at this hotel.

lovely old country house sat in an amazing setting. fine room with great view. one of the best breakfast i have had at a hotel. staff nice and welcoming. the dinner we had was very nicely cooked and presented but would be only taken as a treat as it was quite posh and a little expensive for an everyday meal. the overall feel of the place is one of a […] slightly posh country house. not good if you want wild night life but great if you are looking for a nice quiet weekend away with your partner in a beautiful lakeside setting. there is a very good pub a short walk away with English real ales and good food. overall a relaxing weekend treat. we have already booked up to return in November. This small hotel has a great position overlooking Esthwaite (lake), and within walking distance of Hill Top Farm, Beatrix Potter's home (now NT). The owner is a good cook, and provides a small 5-course evening menu of freshly cooked food served at 7:30pm, if you make your choices around 6:30pm. It is a beautiful house , great views, but rooms, food and service are just ok. Not good value overall, in the lakes there is a lot of competition, and we would not go back to this hotel.

My wife and I had a very nice weekend break as Ees Wyke Country House. It was very comfortable, welcoming and hospitable. Good breakfasts too and the views are great.

Location was great, the food was very good with anexcellent wine list. Whislt we enjoyed our short stay one half of the establishment's management team was not overly customer focussed shall I say and our welcome left a little to be desired. Lovely hotel in magnificent tranquil setting. Very Helpful unfussy service. Cooking also exceptional, local ingredients expertly cooked. No cavils at all, a most enjoyable experience.

We booked this hotel on the last minute as it was good value for a 5*. On arrival the owner was standing at the door greeting us by name which was a nice touch. It was clear things were quiet but thats the way we like it. We were showed to our room which although was ok I must admit the tiny bathroom with just a shower was a disappointment as at the […] 5* end we did expect at least a bath but maybe we should have read the room description in more detail. The more unusual fact was that there was a full communal bathroom on the landing - again not seen this before and certainly not at the 5* end. The lack of a full bathroom didnot spoil our stay it was just not ideal. On a very positive note to overshadow what I have just said we booked for dinner and I must say that it was exceptional. We were lucky to be the only diners that night so got the host's full attention ( Richard ) The meal was refined but not fussy ( I can't stand huge plates and tiny fancy nibbles ) all 5 courses were excellent and I urge everyone to have at least one of Richard's creations good food well presented excellent flavor. The service and attention from Richard was some of the best we have had always there but not over bearing however on a slightly negative note his wife who attended the breakfast next morning whom we hadnot met the previous night ( breakfast was also top class and faultless ) was somewhat miserable and frankly didnot crack a smile or engage with any of the other diners a disappointment when compared to her husband's outstanding manner and service. The tourist areas of The Lake District can be busy and full of traffic.It was a pleasure to stay at this wonderful Hotel only a few miles from Ambleside and Coniston yet in peace and tranquility.Our room was comfortable and full of extras-where else will you get a caraffe of sherry included in the room price! The food was excellent , our 5 course Dinner […] being all one might expect. Service was fast and efficient.
