Good quiet location, beautiful setting, very traditional. Tortoises very cute! Only downside would be the restaurant they recommended we try - it wasn't great. Staff helpful though, and we would definitely stay there again if we return to Marrakech

Made reservation here with my wife and kids and father in law. Both wife and Father in law are Moroccan. Was a sketchy part of town and both were afraid for us to stay there with kids given we seemed to need a security escort in and out. I asked for a refund for my 5 days and was given half back. To add insult to injury the "security" guys who walked […] us back to our car wanted tips for doing so despite our having paid the hotel hundreds of euro for not staying there. Terrible hotel expensive, glad we only booked 3 nights. Very stressful and not enjoyable!The manager was very rude and dismissive when we had an issue with one of the guides and when we complained about the overall quality of the room. He screamed at my friend, a young lady, something we have never experianced after travelling to many world wide desinations. […] The room itself wasn't very clean, there was alot of dust and the previous guest's rubbish still left in the room. After notifying the staff a couple of times about the cold shower nothing was done and we were never updated just ignored. The registration process was not very useful or in depth enough, the person who did this was not very warm or friendly, this was the case with most of the staff there who spoke about us and other guests behind their backs and were constanly laughing or making fun of us because they thought we did not understand the language. Not professional at all! For the price we paid, this was very expensive for a bad experience. The staff and manager did not introduce themselves to us and the whole time we were there we feeling like an inconvienance and were given little attention. The riad itself although nicely furnished inside, was not in a safe area, lots of beggars and traffic ouside, busy street with mopeds whizzing around. However the riad didn't feel that much calmer or safer inside! Food also very basic and dinner extremely expensive for what it was. Devamı

Delightful riad that is conveniently located near the medina. It's a peaceful oasis with beautifully presented communal areas and rooms. Nice roof terrace. Great staff who are very helpful. The Karmela is in a great central position 5 mins walk from the souks and 10 mins to the Djeema el Fna (main square). It totally lived up to the reviews on expedia which made us choose it. A welcoming oasis in the hub of the medina. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Good breakfast with lots of choice taken in the courtyard amongst the […] orange trees, tortoises and sparrows. Joel and his team made us feel very welcome and were a great source of local knowledge. Riad karmela is a perfect oasis in the heart of the medina. Situated just a 2 minute walk from the souks and 7 mins from Jamaa el Fna it is perfect for sightseeing. However at night make sure you plan your route as it can be easy to get lost if you don't stick to the main routes. All of the staff are very helpful and on arrival Joel gave us a map of […] the medina recommending the best routes to walk and the best restaurants to eat at. We also had a hammam at the riad which I would thorougly recommend - followed by a massage. If you want to spend a day out of the city the riad provide excursions and if enough guests arent interested in going then they will book you in through an agency to make it cheaper. This is what we did and we spent a fantastic day at the ourika valley. Marrakesh is a crazy and overwhelming place that has to be seen to be believed but at the end of a dusty and tiring day bartering in the souks this riad is the perfect place to come back to. Devamı

Hidden deep within the medina is this beautiful court yard hotel. Each of rooms is large and decorated with Moroccan details and French taste and large, spa-like bathrooms.The owner/manager is extremely helpful with everything from booking trips, ordering taxis, directions and even our need to puc\rchase a bottle of vodka.

This was our first Marrakech trip and we chose well with Riad Karmela. It was an oasis of calm and tranquility from the madness of the medina. You will not find this place without help - take the taxi that the hotel offer from the airport, its stupid not to, and then Joel and the staff will tutor you in getting out and about. Unfortunately we both had […] chest infections during our stay and this limited our enjoyment of the trip overall, but the Riad was a lovely place to stay. Fantastic location and really helpful staff .They recommended great restaurants and gave advice on all aspects of Marrakech including avoiding boys who try and show you the way.We enjoyed a lovely evening meal in the Riad. I spent a long weekend at Riad Karmela with my daughter. We had the most relaxing time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are all wonderful, the food is excellent and the ambiance is tranquil. We had a hammam whilst we were there which was absolutely lovely - so refreshing and relaxing! The location of the Riad is excellent and very close to […] the souks although you can step inside the door of the Riad and be completely removed from the hussle and bustle instantly. Compared to most, this is a very large riad. It's design is nice and the rooms are impressive. The hotel staff are helpful and speak English however the map of Marrakech they provide is pretty poor so you are better of getting a good one elsewhere. And believe me you will need a map for this city. The breakfast was good enough to fill your stomach […] but was too continental. I have had Moroccon breakfasts elsewhere which are more filling. Request a room that is not on the bottom floor as these get noisy from chatter inside the hotel. Based on it's cleanliness, safety and decent pricing I would recommend Karmela. Devamı

A peaceful haven from the hustle and bustle of the medina. Stylishly furnished. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. I cannot find a fault with this riad - a fantastic place.

It was perfect from the time check in formalities were completed over a cup of tea and some pastries in the beautiful under cover courtyard. The suite was great with the children having their own "room" and a separate lounge area. The location is quiet yet only minutes from the souks. Would highly recommend it.

Riad Karmela was really beautiful, and a great place for socialising with other guests. The roof terraces are lovely, though in August, it was far too hot even early in the morning to spend much time up there. Downstairs, guests gathered around the plunge pool to cool their feet. Our room (one adult, two teenage children) was good, and the air conditioning […] was effective -- this was really important at that time of year. Joel, the owner, was very helpful and friendly, while being quite formal, as were the rest of the staff. We had a lovely, relaxing massage and enjoyed being able to walk out of the door and experience the medina. The Djema el Fna was not too far away. The dinner in the evenings was extremely good, though at 20 euros, more than I was expecting to pay in Morocco. We soon learned that good meals out are just as expensive in Morocco as in the UK -- for tourists, at least! The breakfasts were not great -- very little choice, and sometimes bread took a while to arrive. It was also too hot on the roof to enjoy breakfast in August. It would have been good to be able to eat downstairs instead. But that is a small point. We had a great stay and would recommend. Devamı

This is a great Riad, offering excellent accomadation, however the location is very poor. It is in one of the worst areas of the medina. The streets surrounding the Riad are very narrow. Cars & taxis have to drop you in a square, & you then have a 5 min. walk with your luggage.

This is a Riad to totally relax in after the cacophany of noise & frenetic activity in the surrounding Medina. Once you walk through the door you feel yourself instantly unwind & de-stress. A refreshing mint tea in the main courtyard with the trickling water, orange trees & comfortable sofas makes it difficult to get up again! There is no noise from […] the outside world to disturb your reverie except the occasional Muezzin call to prayer. There is also a roof terrace with jacuzzi, shaded areas & the usual sunbathing facilities with towels provided. We ate there 2 nights out of the 4 (although I would have been happy to make it 4 but felt we ought to make the effort to see Jemma el Fna at night!). The 3 course meal was always a (delicious) surprise as there is no menu. The starter & main courses were always traditional cuisine while the desert allowed the chef to indulge her interest in french patisserie - fabulous! I would have no qualms in recommending Riad Karmela. The staff were helpful & friendly, always willing to give advice concerning finding your way around , booking restaurants, taxis etc.. Devamı

Dette hotel ligger kun kort vej fra pladsen Djemaa el Fna, men det er ikke til at høre når man først lukker døren efter sig! Stedet er utroligt afslappende at være på, service er i top, maden er god og har man behov for det, kan man ovenikøbet booke massage på stedet. Husk dog, som alle andre steder beliggende i Medina'en; book din transfer fra lufthavne […] i forvejen, det er en labyrint uden lige, når man ikke kender gaderne i forvejen - det er alle pengene værd! Vi änlände en kväll i november, det regnade, gränderna var leriga och fyllda med folk, mopeder, åsnor mm. Efter att ha blivit guidande av en man på gatan (behövdes inte då det satt skyltar lite här och där) så kom vi in i smalare och smalare gränder för att till sist kliva in genom en mkt låg järndörr. Där innanför fann vi paradiset. Så vackert, med […] ljuslyktor och levande ljus överallt, mysiga soffgrupper, vacker inredning och mycket trevlig personal. Vi fick te och en genomgång av hur det fungerar och hur man hittar "innanför murarna" i Mesinan. Tio minuters promenad till Djemaa el Fna, fem minuter till souken. Jättebra läge! Frukosten var också helt perfekt. Vi kan varmt rekommendera denna Riad. Mycket spännande och annorlunda väntar utanför järndörren. Devamı

Liegt sehr zentral und doch ruhig, ist in diesem Gassengewirr wieder leicht zu finden. Zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten und den Soukhs nur ein paar Gehminuten. Aber UNBEDINGT einen Transfer buchen vom Airport zum Hotel, die Taxifahrer bringen einen oft nur zum Jemma el Fna und von dort aus ist es unmöglich ( wenn man sich noch nicht auskennt) das Riad zu finden. […] Auch der Hotelbus fährt nur zum Jemma el Fna. Wer "mittendrin" sein möchte und gleichzeitig Komfort und Service haben möchte, ist hier richtig. Das Riad liegt in den Souks, ist nur zu Fuß zu erreichen - man braucht schien ein bisschen Orietnierungssinn. Den Transfer vom Flughafen sollte man nicht per Taxi machen (die setzen einen außerhalb des Souk ab und man ist auf sich alleine gestellt), sondern […] sich vom Hotel abholen lassen. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet, sauber, je nach Lage kriegt man als Langschläfer die Geräusche vom Frühstück mit, aber war für uns kein Problem. Die vom Hotel angebotenen Touren sind zu enmpfehlen. Ebenso die Restaurant-Tipps von Joel, dem Besitzer. Ein Traum ist die Dachterrasse. Wir kommen gerne wieder! Devamı

Abbiamo avuto un piccolo incoveniente: un topolino in camera. Trattandosi di una città come Marrakech e di una stanza al piano terra non abbiamo fatto tante storie, nonostante il coinquilino non fosse gradito. Si tenga conto che comunque il riad era pulito, la location molto suggestiva e accogliente Posizione ottima proprio a due passi dalla piazza […] principale. Le vie di accesso, però, sono piuttosto scomode e squallide, per due ragazze sole il tornare la sera da sole non è stato proprio il massimo! Devamı

Das Riad liegt sehr zentral in mitten der Medine (Altstadt) und ist eine wirkliche Ruheoase inmitten des Altstadttrubels. Riad typique et immense. On trouve aisément un coin au calme pour s'y reposer. Les chambres sont spacieuses et la literie impeccable. L'accueil par les employés locaux est très chaleureuse ... on se sent bienvenu. Hôtel idéal pour un week end en amoureux. Seul bémol: le petit déjeuner est un peu léger et mériterait d'être plus élaboré.

Ottimo riad, il proprietario ed il personale si occuperanno di prenotarvi tutto cio' che vi occorre: taxi, ristoranti, escursioni evitandovi lo stess di dover contrattare qualsiasi cosa.
