Villa Sarna - Ubud

The staff and service at Villa Sarna had to be the best in our entire stay in Bali. The staff knew us well by the end of our first day. The cycling tour was one of our highlights of our whole stay. They even provide free shuttle transport to and from Ubud town - which is a bit far away from the Villa

about 20 mins from Ubud center, although they do have a free shuttle every 2 hrs - good if you want some peace and quiet away from it all. ambiance is nice, only a few rooms, very homey. the room we had (shiva) was quite small though, and be prepared to climb a lot of stairs to get to it. breakfast is ok but nothing great, staff are friendly and helpful; […] there is no restaurant at the hotel itself but there is one a quick drive (3 mins) outside, which they use for room service. overall, i would recommend for people who prefer to be outside the main ubud city, but not for those who prefer to be closer to the action. Very nice hotel, but I think there are lots of cheaper places to stay. A bit over priced. The cyckling tour was awesome!!! Highly recommended the tour if you decide to stay there

Our stay at Villa Sarna was the highlight of our 10 day vacation! The grounds were very well kept. The gardens and view were so beautiful and made for a tranquil setting. After time in Seminyak and Kuta the peaceful location was welcome. While it is a distance from Ubud, the hotel provides a shuttle every 2 hours which we found perfect for dinner. The […] drivers were very obliging taking us to which ever location we wanted and picking us up in the same spot. It is near rice terraces which makes it a good place to begin sight seeing. Breakfast was very good. As for service, it was so good that they went to Ubud in search of Aloe Vera for the sunburn my boyfriend got in Seminyak. When they could not find it the driver called the front desk and asked them to tell us. They came to the pool to tell us and then the driver called himself when he returned. I think they went beyond expectations in all respects. I would recommend Villa Sarna to anyone and would go back in a heartbeat! Devamı

First Impressions - Once you go inside the traditional Balinese doors, you are greeted by this lush, exotic fusion of plants and sculptures. The ambience is unique like being in a Grimms fairy tale. Recommend a daytime checkin. Although night can be impressive too with the lighting on the sculptures. Location - 16 minutes from downtown Ubud ( I timed […] it myself). I thought it was an issue but not at all with shuttle services provided by the hotel. The driver even took a different route so that we could view the fantastic villages leading into Ubud. We saw pristine rice fields and coconut trees and unique village architecture you would only be able to see on a bike tour. Also very glad to be away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. (We spent most of our time in Ubud only returning at night to rest our legs) Rooms - Saraswati is bigger than average rooms. It has a sitting room which I think others don't. Bathroom can be improved as some bits have gone crummy eg. stains on the sink. Would definitely recommend it and go back myself. Go with the mentality that the villa belongs to a friend of yours. We didn't have internet service during the rains for 2 days and no one is at the reception desk after 6 or 7. Otherwise a beautiful location. Plan on going into town for meals other than breakfast

Villa Sarna is a great place if you want to get away from the crowds, but you need to take into account that you need to rely on the hotel's 2 hourly complimentary shuttle service to get into Ubud. It very quiet in the evenings, so the shuttle service really comes in handy (but finishes at 9.30pm). The rooms need a bit of maintenance, which would really […] make this a nicer place to stay. I selected the Villa Sarna based on Trip Advisor comments and reserved the Krishna room for two nights in December through hotels.com. The Krishna room had a nice deck and a great view across a lush green ravine. The room itself had lovely Balinese furniture, big comfortable bed, large TV with international english-language stations, a complimentary […] wi-fi. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. They have reasonably priced food for lunch and dinner which you can have in your room if you wish. They have a free shuttle between the hotel and Ubud center. I have stayed at three different hotels (including the Villa Bali Ubud and the Puri Sunia) and recommend the Villa Sarna as the one with the most beautiful Balinese feel. I would definitely return. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Ubud and at Villa Sarna, and found it a very comfortable base during our stay. During our stay, we booked a cycling tour through the hotel (which was great), arranged a cooking class separately (also great), and made several trips into Ubud town center for some sightseeing, shopping, dining, etc. The free shuttle was […] easy enough to arrange (though the pickup was a little confusing for us the first time, we eventually found the driver and all was well). The hotel is definitely a bit of a trek from the city center, though, and is not as close as a lot of maps suggest. We didn't find this to be a negative in any way, but you shouldn't book expecting otherwise. Devamı

A quaint place to stay 30 minutes outside of Ubud. However, it is on a very busy road and you can hear cars all day and night. There is an hourly shuttle to Ubud but it is not as convenient as being in Ubud itself. Even if you want to go for lunch or dinner you need someone to drive to the nearby restaurant and back. Also, if you want to do the biking […] trip, I would recommend doing it with one of the companies based out of Ubud, rather than through the hotel. It is a little cheaper but not as complete an experience. So despite the staff being friendly and rooms well appointed I would not return or recommend due to the noise and the distance from all the attractions. Devamı

We spent 3 nights at Villa Sarna, and were very happy. Our tight schedule had us touring Bali all day long, and we would have liked to have more time to spend in the hotel itself. You get an individual bungalow that's very comfortable and well appointed (including satellite TV). The grounds and decoration are beautiful, and really add to the atmosphere […] of being in Bali. The cooked breakfast is good and, although the hotel itself doesn't serve dinner, there's a good place 5 minutes away that delivers room service. The only catch is that it's about a 20min drive to town, but that's no big deal as the hotel provides a shuttle every 2 hrs and it's only a $5 taxi ride. Your compensation is the view across the valley and walks in the surrounding rice fields. I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway. Devamı

We stayed at Villa Sarna for two nights and have no complaints. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, the room gorgeous, the view spectacular. Breakfast was yum! Cooked fresh... I couldn't go past the french toast. The place is about 20 min away from Ubud by car, but they have a few services going to and from it during the day (free). However, […] it does get very busy in Ubud with all the various hotels that do this so sometimes traffic can leave you waiting... The cafe the hotel is connected to makes yummy food, though it can be a bit lukewarm by the time it reaches you in the hotel if you order in. Nevertheless, these issues were no big deal once you see the place and the view and feel the comfy bed :) Villa Sarna was probably my favourite stay in Bali - great vibe. Devamı

The staff was exceptionally and genuinely friendly and eager to help us with anything they could. The hotel itself was awesome - very cool modern design. Rooms were clean. Extra touches everywhere - such as flower petals made it even better. We only ate breakfast there, but the indonesian b-fast was delicious. I loved the Mei Goreng (sp?) and my fiancee […] loved the nasi goreng. Location was very good - 3 min walk to the beach and 1-2 blocks off of the main stretch. Great choice. Devamı

Vores ophold på dette hotel var en meget positiv oplevelse. Personalet var utroligt venligt og hjælpsom med alt, inklusivt at arrangere udflugter til en rimelig pris. Hotellet ligger ca 6 km fra Ubud, men der er en gratis og god shuttle-service hele dagen til byen. Skøn natur og udsigt fra værelset!

Wir waren am Ende unseres Urlaubes 4 Tage in der Villa Sarna. Unser Zimmer (Vishnu) hat muffig gerochen und der Verputz ist teilweise schon abgeblättert. Ob die Flecken in den Ecken Schimmel waren möchte ich gar nicht genau wissen. Insgesamt wirkt die Villa doch schon recht abgewohnt und deshalb finde ich den Preis im Vergleich zu anderen Resorts doch […] recht hoch. Auch die Preise für Massagen sind doppelt so teuer wie im Norden Balis (im Vergleich zu Tulamben sogar 4 mal so teuer). Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht, manche Mädchen im Service können jedoch kaum ein Wort Englisch. Unser Resümee: leider keine Empfehlung. Devamı

虽然只有7间房，但各有特色，酒店就象个小花园，精致而美丽，非常安静。服务人员热情，有免费的无线网络，就是地理位置离乌布市区较远，酒店有班车。

Die Villa Sarna iegt wunderschön als Bungalow-Anlage in einem wunderschönen Hang, der als Garten mitten im tropischen Wald liegt. Die Ruhe ist einmalig, der Service top. Obwohl so ruhig gelegen sind mittels hoteleigenem Shuttlebus viele Attraktionen wie malerische Reisterrassen, tolle Handwerkerviertel, das pulsierende Zentrum von Ubud etc in wenigen […] Minuten erreichbar. Wer's ruhiger und entspannende will kann auch die zahlreichen Spa-Angebote geniessen. Die Bungalows sind sauber und aufgeräumt und modern eingerichtet, auf keinerlei modernen Komfort muss verzichtet werden. Jederzeit weiter zu empfehlen. Devamı

L'hotel en lui même est très joli et bien entretenu. Les chambres sont très agréables, quoique un peu petites. Par contre, nous pensions trouver un site isolé du bruit fatiguant d'Ubud et n'avons trouvé qu'un autre Hotel bruyant (motos/volailles), mais par contre un peu trop loin d'Ubud (20 à 30 min). Vu le prix par rapport aux hotels du centre d'Ubud, […] nous sommes un peu déçus. On recommande que pour le spa qui est vraiment sympa. Devamı

Wir hatten ein Hotel in der Umgebung von Ubud gebucht, weil man von dort alle Sehenswürdigkeiten der Insel in Tagesausflügen erreichen kann. Wir haben in den 14 Tagen unseres Aufenthaltes immer das Angebot des Hotels wahrgenommen. Für kleines Geld wird hier Fahrer, Auto incl. Sprit angeboten Die wunderschönen Reisterassen von Tegallalang sind im zehn […] Minuten zu Fuß von der Villa Sarna zu erreichen. Auch einige Dörfer in der Umgebung laden zu einem Spaziergang ein. Zur Erholung und Erfrischung gibt es einen kleinen Pool mit wirklich kaltem Wasser. Mit dem Hoteleigenen Shuttelservice ist man in 15 - 20 Minuten in Ubud. Der letzte offizielle Bus fährt ab 21.30 Uhr ab Ubud zurück. Dann ist in Ubud aber auch schon nichts mehr los. Alle Mitarbeiter der Villa Sarna sind mehr als freundlich und versuchen, jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Es waren wunderschöne Tage in der Villa Sarna. Devamı
