Manitou Lodge Bed & Breakfast - Telluride

The Bed and Breakfast was very nice. They had a very adequate continental breakfast and a common's kitchen where coffee, cereal, hard boiled eggs and bagels were provided. My husband and I stayed at the Manitou in the early days (3rd annual) Bluegrass Festival with many happy memories. Our return visit was not so great. Here's why: Our check in was complicated. We had to call a service to find out how to get in our room. The lady who helped us was super nice but getting all the codes to even make it to our room was a […] hassle. There was no breakfast due to the owner turning the place into a crash pad for his friends and they had taken over the kitchen feeding their many children. Nice people sweet keds but we felt out of place. There was no parking permit and finding a place to park was helped by the lady at another hotel. In the room were several small repairs (toliet), non-working lamps. The owner needs to decide if he wants a niche motel or one managed for the convenience of his customers.Also aging baby boomers should know that the bed and bath were on two different levels. Devamı

This "Inn" is not a comfortable place to stay. Architectural style is "1970's labyrenth cubbyholes" with dark, scratched woodwork and narrow stairs and halls. We were in room #8. The double bed (hard) is squeezed in a small loft at the top of a steep 13 step stairway. No other furniture in the loft except a dresser and one night stand. No place to sit […] other than the bed. Very crowded. A flat screen tv is on the wall but the remote control did not work to do anything on the tv except turn it on and off. Big problem is the bathroom (toilet and shower) is downstairs from the bed in the dark. Downstairs there is one couch and one dresser and the pedestal sink in one small room. No chairs or luggage stands. No inside security lock on the door. Anyone with the combination could come in in the middle of the night. Breakfast food is bagels, hard boiled eggs, and fruit. This is a dark place with lots of spider webs. No attendant or clerk. Checkin is at a place on Main Street a few blocks away where they give you the combination to the front door (no lobby) and to your room. Only positive is the nicely redone shower with new glass doors and stone tile and a nearby babbling creek. Too high of a price for the little comfort you get in return. Devamı

Neat small place with small but comfy rooms and a very well stocked breakfast selection. Would stay there again without question.

I would recommend but feel that the B & B status is invalid. There was no breakfast per say, just a continental spread purchased from the grocery store. Every other B & B that I have stayed at has a cooked breakfast or at the very least fresh granolas, fruits, and homemade pastries. This was more a hotel with a continetal breakfast.

Beware, there is no front desk which meant in my case 1) no one to let you in your room if you are not sent the code to the front door and the room 2) no one to restock the breakfast items, we had bagels and coffee and some cereal and that was IT 3) no one to get fresh linens and towels from unless you called REPEATEDLY The room was ok. The kitchen […] was far too small for the guests, I think I got to sit at the table to eat once in 4 days. It was constantly full, people had to move out of the way just to get around the room. The hot tub was the worst, it was disgusting, clean water but a nasty cobweb filed dilapidated room. The tub cover was so waterlogged it had to weigh 50 lbs, I am not kidding. Who ever owns this place do not give a crap about the guests, they just want to keep it filled. Devamı

Stayed in room 6 at the Manitou. Terrific view from both balconies. I would recommend rooms 5,6 or 7 which are much larger than the rest and have by far, the best views of the awesome scenery. Staff was friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return for another visit in 2012! Also the price was right!

This lodge was great , it was very clean, kitchen was well equiped and tidy and it was close to places to eat and drink , had a great time !

You must check in for your room at another location (which is only a couple blocks away). There ought to be a map telling you where it is instead of just the address as you are probably not familiar with the town. They advertise that parking is included...it is NOT INCLUDED on the day of departure. If you were planning on parking there while you ski […] on your last day....well...apparently you would get ticketed. That was really frustrating as we were only there to ski that next day and then location lost all of its appeal since we had to re-park the car and go elsewhere to get lift tickets. One staff member was quite nice and friendly, I will give the other one the benefit of the doubt and just say they were taking their bad day out on the customer. On the plus side, there is a little continental breakfast which was pretty tasty. Devamı

The Manitou is in a lovely setting, convenient to the heart of Telluride. Breakfast was good, and access to a shared kitchen was convenient. The rooms are a bit small-ours had a loft, on a separate level from the bathroom, which was a bit inconvenient-but overall it was a great place and I would definitely go back again.

This is a B&B right next to the river. Bedroom is a loft. Everything else is downstairs, including a couch. Made it seem larger than it probably was, but the couch area downstairs made it seem more relaxing. I could open the door to the balcony (not much of a balcony though) and listen to the river while letting outside cool air inside. Very nice. There […] is a small grocery about 1 or 2 blocks away. Main street (Colorado Ave) not much further. For me the location was perfect. And the weather was perfect with blue skies and cool days. Have stayed in Telluride several times before and this was my favorite. It is not a 4 star hotel, if that's what you want look elsewhere, and there is no one to help with your luggage. Point to remember, you have to check in at an office on the main street through town and it closed at 5pm. Devamı

We were passing through Telluride during the summer, and needed a place to spend the night. This came up as a pretty great deal, but with only one review. I decided to roll the dice, and was very happy I did. The Manitou Lodge is located right at the base of the north slope of the valley, just 3-4 blocks away from main street and 2 blocks away from […] the gondola. In addition, it is right next to a stream, which our room looked on to. The room itself was nice and cozy, with a couch and newly remodeled bathroom and a bed upstairs in a loft area. The whole experience was great--breakfast had a good selection and was organized by a very friendly employee. We enjoyed tea and bagels to a beautiful morning in the mountains, with the babbling water serenading us. I would definitely go back the next time I am in Telluride. Devamı

The staff was great and very helpful, we would stay here again.
