pleasant & easy to move around. taxis are always available & affordable. very convenient to cross the river by ferry to see the CBD including IFC. Ferry cost only RMB2. Conceirge service can be improved though given the high rating as Tripadvisors Top Choice of the year.

It is in an excellent location. the view we had was beautiful--we can see directly over the River, and at a short distance is the Pu-tong side of the finance centre. The hotel staff have been extremely helpful and courteous. The breakfast was good, American style. The guest lobby is cozy, with good facilities. We had a very pleasant stay there. Nice view, breakfast and service. Free snacks and drinks from lounge. It is close to the bund and pier but need to walk a bit from subway. Still acceptable as we travel by taxi more. The view from our room is splendid and we absolutely will come back for this hotel.

I absolutely LOVED this hotel. I don't know why anyone would give it a negative review. It was rated better than Waldorf-Astoria, and that was spot on. The staff was extremely helpful and spoke English very well. They helped us arrange taxis, even gave our taxi driver special directions when our location was a bit complicated. I decided to stay at this hotel after a very pleasant stay in their Taipei location. The room was well-equipped, very well-maintained and clean. I stayed in one of their "suites", and actually regretted it a little, as I think having one larger room (such as the studios) might have been better than having a separate living area. I loved the rain shower […] but the bathroom was a bit small. There was a lot of choice and variety at breakfast, but the food quality itself was par for the course, not extraordinary. None of these would have been a deal-breaker. My main gripe was the hotel's location. The closest subway station is about a 15-minute walk through a not-very-interesting neighborhood. In particular, I went during the winter, and 15 minutes in the cold just wasn't my cup of tea. Finding a taxi from that location is not easy either (not to mention none of the taxi drivers knew the hotel, but that's supposedly quite usual for Shanghai). In short, it's not at all bad, but would I go back? Probably not. Devamı

hard beds - we are used to softer beds. The staff at breakfast are so efficient that 6 different persons tried to take my plate within 5 minutes. Very clean, tasteful, perfectly situated on Le Bund with very nice staff.

Seeing the excellent reviews about the hotel on various hotel-booking websites, I decided to give Les Suites a try even though it was slightly over my budget. In short, the stay was extremely pleasant and it is difficult to find faults with the hotel and its staff. My communication with the staff began even before my stay. I had made some special requests […] as it was my girlfriend's birthday and wanted to give her a surprise. Les Suites not only acceded to my requests but also brought a cake (compliments of the hotel) right up to my hotel room! Indeed, the service accorded to me and my girlfriend were truly excellent, the least to say. Kudos to Mr Joseph Pi (the COO) and the staff, right from the door-boy who helped carry our luggage even before we were anywhere near close to the hotel's entrance, to the reception who helped with all sorts of queries from us and even offered us breakfast the same day we checked in because our rooms were not yet ready. The lobby is also luxurious, with comfortable sofas, cookies/fruits, tea & coffee and equipments from desktops to even an Ipad. The room was extremely clean and everything within was truly a luxury, from the view of the room to the comforts within (even the toilet seat cover has a heating facility). In short, I strongly recommend this hotel to anybody considering a trip to Shanghai and will definitely stay at this hotel again on my subsequent trips. Devamı

I booked this hotel on the strength of the reviews, and was right to do so. The location is great, the staff could not have been better, etc. if you just have a couple nights to spend in Shanghai and want a nice hotel in the right place to see the city, then book in here.

We received an upgrade to a Bund suite. And can recommend that option if you have the choice. Staff was fairly good, but we had better overall English and a closer to 5 star level of attentiveness and service in Beijing at our other hotel. We had no air conditioning in the room at this time of year, this fact was unacceptable for a 5 star listed as […] one of the "preferred hotels in the world" in our opinion. That said, if you want to see the Bund and the amazing view across the river from your room, than this might be one of the best boutique luxury options for the price right now in Shanghai. TIPS: Be sure to book upper floor Bund facing room. Take the 2 RMB ferry directly across the street to super brand mall and pearl tower in Pudong etc; beats taking a taxi or the really over-hyped tourist tunnel. Go to Lost Heaven Restaurant, It's around the block and steps away for an amazing "yunnan province meal" ask the hotel staff for a reservation. Devamı

Loved it! Great service, beautiful rooms, awesome view, fabulous location, incredible breakfast - simply amazing. Only thing disappointing was one dinner we had in the hotel. We stayed in this hotel in October 2011 for 3 nights for our family vacation. We booked 2 rooms. Beautiful modern hotel! Love the design. Rooms are very modern. We were upgraded to Shanghai Deluxe which have great Bund view. Services are really friendly and professional. We got rooms next to each other even without asking for it. Receptionists could […] speak good English which definitely a plus. Location is outstanding, only less 10 mins walk to Yu Garden and 20-30 mins to Nanjing road. 30 mins sounds a lot but if you walk along the bund, you won't feel it at all since it's a very enjoyable trip. My parents even mentioned the hotel is one of the best hotels they've ever stayed with a very nice view. It's a very memorable experience for our family. Greatly recommend it!! Devamı

We loved the generous space in the room, the bathroom and the sensible separate closets design. The view overlooking the bund was great (we asked for a riverview room when we made reservations and were honoured), just wish we had more time to spend in the room. The only downside of being so close to the bund was that we got woken up by the horn of the […] boats early one morning, but the next day was fine. The concierge service was generally adequate, although a bit unreliable with getting cabs, for example we were told the night before that they would get one for us to go to the train station, but it wasn't there at the appointed time (or rather, there was another cab there loading up luggage apparently going to the airport, could that have been our cab?). in the end we found another so it was not a big deal. breakfast was adequate. really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The design is great, room is very nice, has large bath tub & great shower. It even has an illy coffee machine. Staff are very helpful and speaks very good English. The hotel is located a stone's throw away from The Bund. If you are a morning person and likes running, this is the perfect hotel for you. First timer, service was great and lounge, breakfast and room was very good.

Everything was fantastic about our stay at the Les Suites from the moment we entered our room to the day we left. Our view of the Bund was spectacular. The breakfast was wonderful and all of the staff was gracious and helpful. We would definitely come again and recommend it to all of our friends and family.

Les Suites Orient fully deserves its no. 1 spot on Tripadvisor's Shanghai hotels. It is a boutique hotel in an intimate setting and the service is great! I would recommend it to anyone who is visitng Shanghai.

I think the impression for this hotel for me is the function in the room, service, good view as my room face to the bund and river view. The room is well designed even studio type, I like its layout and all functions provided which they are what I need during my stay since there is desk that I can do my works, sofa for my guests, etc. Well design for […] shower room. I've had bad experiences with online booking at upscale hotels all over the world. Usually, you get the worst rooms with the least service. Even worse, many times they'll try to get more money out of you for no additional benefits just to make up for the discount rate you've paid. Contrary to this, the Les Suites Orient in Shanghai managed to positively […] surprise me in many ways. The room had a view of the Bund and Shanghai's magnificent skyline from its bathroom, free WIFI, and the breakfast was the best I've had in China. Before I booked I read statements about the English proficiency (or the lack thereof) of the staff. I had no such experience. Everybody was very helpful and spoke English to the extent where we had no problem getting our points across. Of course, you won't be able to exhaustively discuss John Stuart Mill's concept of liberty with the cleaning staff in English, but where can you? Oh and btw, the concierge will make reservations for you, give you a printout of the place you want to go, complete with a map and instructions for the cab driver in Mandarin. What else can you possibly ask for? All in all, I had a great stay and I'll come back to this hotel in the future. Good value for your money at a great location. Devamı

Rlocated rght on the Bund (not located where hotels.com's map say it is!) We booked a city view package including breakfast for 5 nights but on arrival were told that the manager had upgraded us to a suite overlooking the river, with the most fantastic view of Pudong's skyscrapers. Thankyou! The room was fantastic. Modern, stylish and with 3 flat screen […] Televisions (even one in the bathroom) and 2 seating areas, one perfectly situated for just sitting and admiring the view, with a decent an espresso from the lavazza coffee machine, and surfing the internet using the free in room wifi. Bed was extremely comfortable. Electronically controlled black out blinds worked a treat. Staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. Breakfast was a good selection, and felt relaxed. There was also a lounge with Apple terminals to get onto the internet, a printer and coffee, tea and biscuits to help yourself to... Great after a long day sightseeing! A truely 5 star experience at a 4 star price. I would stay here again whether visiting Shanghai for business or pleasure. Devamı

This hotel is fabulous and amazing value for money. It is of an exceptional high standard and is in a great location. The rooms are quite large and include a sofa, a recliner and footstool as well as a desk. The bathrooms are better than a lot of 5 star hotels I have stayed in. It was so luxurious to bathe in the deep marble bath and lie back and watch […] the telly. The in-room beverage facilities are unbelievable. There is a 'pod' coffee machine and a pull-out mini bar that came with a real lemon for your G&Ts! And you get free soft drinks and fresh fruit every day. Loved the lounge area where you can use the computers and get real coffee/tea all day long and 3 different kinds of biscuits. This is a great idea as I am sure it doesn't cost the hotel much money but adds immensely to the whole hotel experience for guests. The staff are so friendly and fall over themselves to assist. The hotel is located directly opposite the Shanghai Ferry and is a short walk to the Yu'an Garden train station. It is really easy to get the Maglev fast train from the airport (AUD12 return) and then a connecting metro train. There is a great rooftop bar/restaurant around the corner called the Lost Heaven while the funky Swatch Art Peace hotel is a 10 minute walk away. I would definitely stay here again. Devamı

My wife and I were quite impressed by Les Suites Orient in Shanghai. Though the location looks a little awkward at first, it's actually quite convenient. Another slightly awkward thing is that the main lobby is on the third floor so you enter at street level and then take a separate elevator up. I recommend the Shanghai Deluxe room. Very spacious room […] with large bathroom (separate shower and tub). The tub has a TV and toilet has a bidet. Room even has automatic slide down shutters to black out your room and an iPhone dock that slides out of one side table. My wife and I really liked the music playing through the room and bathroom. Separate slippers and toiletries colored for him and for her. Very classy. Would definitely stay again, but it was pricey! Well worth the price if you have the money to spend I guess. Devamı

I stayed at Les Suites Orient for 2 nights. The building is in a great position on the Bund, its very non descript from the outside but oozes class once you step inside. The checkin process was easy and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are great, layed out as intimate little suites (who would have guessed?) furnished in timber […] and stone. Only complaint is there is no bar in the hotel, which limits the possibilities for a quiet drink before a night out. I booked based on trip advisor reccomendations and was not disapointed. Devamı

Very chic decor and very comfortable room. I was impressed by the room size and found it very good value for money. Right on the river's edge and at the beginning of the bund. We had dinner at mr & mrs bund and drinks at bar rouge which were just a short walk from the hotel. This area of shanghai has a very cool vibe and the hotel really made our stay […] special. We had booked a standard city view room here for 2 nights-when we got to our room we realized they had put us in a river view room with the most spectacular views of the bund and Padong city skyline. Tho still one of their standard rooms, it was kitted out with everything you could ever need or think of! I stayed for a night and did not have the chance to checkout gym/pool etc.The interiors are modern, well-cone and the view of the Bund from the rooms is amazing. The hotel staff are very friendly. I stayed for one night after reading all the reviews and was curious to see why this hotel was #1 on TripAdvisor list. At first I was a little disappointed by the size of the room. But, after going into the room and finding a room full of interesting and convenient gadgets, I was impressed by the hotel's thoughtfulness. The bathroom had a view of the […] bund river and had soaking tub, rain shower, surround radio, and a TV! (Just love a bathroom with TV!) The service was even more likable. All the staff were polite and going out of their way to be helpful. They even gave me a late check out at 3 pm at no charge. Great hotel, fantastic friendly staff, wonderful buffet breakfast and very comfortable large rooms. If you want a big flashy hotel then this is not for you, however if comfort, location and friendliness are important, then this boutique style hotel on the Bund is highly recommended! We would definately stay here again on our next visit to Shanghai.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of a China trip and it suited Shanghai in that it was modern and high tech. We were disappointed not to have a view from our room, especially as we had read reviews describing the views and the hotel seemed rather empty. The whole hotel was expensively and tastefully decorated and the rooms had everything one could […] want except that we found the lighting a bit sudued. The staff were all very helpful but I got the impression that their English was not good enough to give more than minimum information. This contributed to the somewhat sterile atmosphere. We loved the location at the South end of the Bund, close to the Yu Yunan gardens, the ferry and the Nanjing shopping streets and the 10 minute walk to the subway was OK. It was good value at the reduced price we paid but I think at list prices it wasn't great value. Devamı

Excellent hotel in great location and very reasonably priced. Staff are extremely welcoming and will have a taxi waiting for you by the time you get to the door.

I am very satisfy with the hotel. The location is great but no so good for food middle of the night. Other than that it is a top hotel.

The service at this hotel stands out. At breakfast, in the third-floor lobby, and at the first floor entrance, there are always several polite and friendly staff who speak English well and are happy to assist in any way. Highlights within 2-3 blocks walking include the beautiful Long Bar at the Waldorf Astoria (stop in for a drink) and the Lost Heaven […] restaurant and rooftop bar. We also had a wonderful (and expensive) dinner at Jean Georges overlooking the Bund. Lao Beijing (for Peking duck) and Yuyuan Gardens are also walking distance. The nearest subway stop is on Nanjing Dong Lu, maybe a 20 minute walk. Taxis are plentiful and the staff are happy to hail one and talk to the driver. To get to the east side of the river (Pudong) can be a 15 minute taxi ride (about 20 RMB) since you have to drive away from the river to get to a tunnel to go under the river. There is also a ferry across the river right outside the hotel for 2 RMB, but you may need to catch a taxi on the other side, depending on where you are going. The hotel decor is sleek, minimalist, modern, and Asian. The hotel is right on the Bund, across Zhongshan Rd from the river. Breakfast was excellent. My only complaints: our room was small with little storage; the wireless internet was very slow, sometimes pooping out completely; and the TV sound was muffled. The TV appears to use external speakers, and ours were set to have a very low maximum volume with too much bass and no apparent way to adjust them. We usually had to turn the sound up to max volume to be able to make out words, and even then just barely. The wireless internet was the biggest problem, but I stayed at two other (nice) hotels on this trip, too, and experienced difficulties at each of them. Devamı

Love this hotel, Manager Mr. Joseph Pi is always there to help, the staff is obliging and helpful in providing information on restaurants and sightseeing tips. Breakfast is included and good variety in choice. Better than living in a big hotel....complimentary internet, reading areas and coffee and tea available all day.

Our room was nice but a little small (studio), views are best as you can get. I think all the rooms are facing Pudong and the bathroom has a romantic bath tub facing the skyscrappers . The breakfast is very good, a lot of choices, continental breakfast and English breakfast as well (apart of the usual Chinese stuff). Staff is helpful all the time for […] all kind of requests. We arrive at 1 am and they were able to order some food for us to the room. We were also having a few request prior to our arrive and all of them were satisfied in advance. The location was perfect for us.It is located in front of the ferry to Pudong, so you can access either that side easily or to take a taxi and go in minutes to any part of Shanghai (old city, temples,...). You can go to many places by walk from the hotel since main shopping streets are close by. If we go back to Shanghai we`ll stay in the same place for sure. Devamı
