This hotel was excellent up until check-out... We were told to check-out by 11:30am, fine... We checked out at the front desk and went back to the room to finish packing -- literally needed 15mins -- the cleaning staff was already in the room telling us they will bring our bags and stuff out to us -- left a bad taste....

We arrived here, which by the way, if you are driving you will most likely pass by this place and miss your turn several times, before we arrived in our destination of Marathon, so this was a quick one night stay. The staff were nice, if you could find them, and they upgraded us to a suite which was nice but much too large and sterile. Cold floors, […] no color in the rooms, no character. Also, there were bums asking for money near the parking lot so don't go out to your car unless you have to. Also, we were taking a walk across the grounds and apparently people live in this place. A woman was washing out a bedpan, YES a bedpan outside and dumping the contents into the rocks near the windows on the side near the pool. I guess I expected more from this place. They also tell you that you can't bring a pet which is fine, I don't bring mine, but I heard dogs barking throughout the rooms. Either allow them or don't I guess. There was just no character in this place. The room was spotless, so I will commend them on this point, but if you are looking for "Florida" and service, this is probably not the place you want to go. The neighborhood is alright and there is a beautiful mall located nearby, but really, this is not a prime vacation spot so I would skip this and head straight for the Keys next time, or stay on South Beach as I have in the past. The hotel is amazing - decor, location, zen garden and overall feeling. We were upgraded to a suite and stayed at the beautiful west side of the hotel. It certainly was a 5 star stay for a 4 star price. I can see how people staying at the east side with a vies of the overpass and limited waterview can be disappointed.

Hotel was difficult to find, no exterior signs and GPS address was incorrect, had to stop and ask for directions. The rooms were huge, clean, and comfortably decorated. Service was terrible, room service brought us uncooked food and it took several calls to fix the problem. Truly helpful and friendly staff made our stay a great experience. The room was finished really nicely and cleaned immaculately. My only complaints were the thin walls and I would have expected a suite at this level to have a glassed in shower. Despite these drawbacks the hotel does provide excellent value for a very reasonable price.

I loved this hotel for something different from the usual corporate giants. Everything was wonderful - service was beyond fantastic. The staff went out of their way to make our visit perfect. Only wish I had more time to enjoy the zen garden. It was a little off the beaten path but still in a very nice location.

The hotel is located under a bridge, no views on the room, but there is an beautiful garden where you can lay down and the view is to the ocean, that is very peaceful. We had a Handicap room, that was not to great for us. The Hotel is closed to a beautiful Mall and close to kosher restaurants

Clean and tidy. Large rooms, location is not perfect, but the price is well below that of some of the larger location on Bal Harbour ($600 price difference from Quarzo to the St. Regis)

Very nice, clean, nice pool and view of bay. Room was large, clean and tastefully decorated. The only problem was that the room was directly under a bridge and offered no view. It was well soundproofed but the view was terrible. Try to get a view overlooking the pool, with a balcony.

Hotel was beautiful, we were relocated on the first night though due to maintenance issues and werent told until arrival. We then had to pack up the next day and come back to this hotel which meant checking out and waiting for check in time again.

The appearance of the hotel was wonderful, it smelled great and the rooms were well kept. However, the only problem I had encountered was when my girlfriends and I first arrived there, our suite was not ready. First of all, I had called earlier that same day before we arrive in Miami at 3:30 pm to check on the suite and was told that it was getting […] cleaned at the moment and will be ready by the time we arrived at the hotel at 4:30 pm. upon arrival, I was told our room was not quite ready and will be another hour or so before we could get settled in. No upgrades or anything for the inconvience. we had plans to head out to South Miami for dinner. They suggested we grab dinner close by the hotel which there wasn't much to choose from the area unless we got a taxi to drive by the next closest restaurants. However, there were 6 of us. Again, we sat in the small waiting room which was cozy but quite tiny as other customers were coming in and out to check in. We literally took up the entire room. Anyways, they never suggested anything for the inconvenience and didn't even discounted us for the room. We were getting fustrated so one of the staff offered us mini muffins and lemon water. Nice...but that doesnt make up for the long wait. They just kept saying the room was big and it takes at least 3-4 hours to clean. It was almost a two hour wait by then. Great hotel for every type of person from business to pleasure or couples to families.. only issue I had was the distance from South beach the taxi cab prices were a bit much so I would recommend renting a car or a scooter while staying here to get around. We had a little trouble getting checked in, the person to check us in wasn't around for 5 mins and I didn't feel like anyone was trying to help find him. Once we did find him, it took another 5 mins to get our keys for the room, again I didn't feel like we were very important. However, once we got to our room all those worries went away. We enjoyed our stay at this lovely boutique hotel. we would have liked to be closer to the beach, as it was a few minutes walk from the hotel, however, we found the pool and outside area to be very charming and relaxing. You would need a car to get around the area if you are traveling further than Bal Harbour, and we found that the rate for parking […] at the hotel was reasonable compared to the other hotels in Miami. After 7 years travelling to Miami minimum once a year and staying in many different hotels, the Bal Harbour Quarzo is the first hotel in Mia that I would stay again. The room I stayed was very clean, modern, spacious...very confortable. The hotel is well mantained, smells good, looks new and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a lovely […] backyard with the view of the bay and it has a very charming pool (small). I consider the hotel a good place for couples since there is no attraction for kids. The hotel has only 28 rooms and it is located in a peaceful area of Bal Harbour. Kids might find it boring and disturb other guests. It happened to me and the person at the front desk managed it very well after my complain. The best deal is to have small meals in the room since it is it has a full kitchen and there are no shops or restaurants very close and the room service is limited (closed on Sundays). The beach is across the street and each room has 2 chairs and an umbrela available with no cost. You can also have small bites and drinks there if you want...mojitos are good! Taxi to South Beach costs about 30.00 usd and the parking at the hotel is 10.00 usd per day. So, I would consider renting a car next time to have a stroll around town during the day. Nice place to stay. Better deal than hotels closer to South Beach and it's only a 10-15 minute drive. Nice neighborhood. We had a kithchen in our room and a nice grocery store close by. It is not a high rise hotel. The hotel seems a little small but the rooms are big. Freeway is close by. Pool is nothing special but the beach is better anyways.

Superb hotel/apartments, beautifully styled and furnished with every convenience. Only small niggle was the mattress and pillows are too soft but that's personal preference. The only real issue is that it is at the opposite end of South Beach and downtown beach area so a car is necessary. Once in beach area parking is plentiful. I had to stay in the Balharbour area and didn't want to pay for The One Resort or stay at the Best Western so I decided to take my chance with this hotel. Pros: Nice, new, clean hotel with attentive staff. Checking in and out was easy. You can walk to Balharbour shops for all your dinner and lunch times and to shop! And Harding Ave which is a $5 cab […] ride has a bunch of restaurants there also. Great healthy breakfast and lunch spot thats affordable, The Juice Bar. Bal Harbor Quarzo is a new Apart Hotel with most modern and latest style interior comfortably located close to Aventura. Keeps you away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Miami. We had a wonderful time.

I was in Miami to attend a wedding and needed a hotel for 4 people. After a exhaustive search to find a hotel on or near the beach and big enough to accommodate everyone, I decided (with fingers crossed) to go with this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised to find the rooms looked like the pictures! The hotel is located in a nice area right off of Collins […] Ave, (although we got a little confused when using the GPS to locate it). This hotel overlooks the marina bay and is on the beach, which is just a few steps away right behind the hotel. I really enjoyed the peaceful and secluded outdoor area where the cabanas and lounge chairs overlooked the scenic view of the marina bay. The hotel is located on a part of the beach where it is quiet and not crowded with tourist. There is only 3 floors (the elevators are small) and there is no restaurant on the premises; but the Bal Harbour shopping area is only a few blocks away where you will find restaurants and delivery was available from various eateries in the area. There is also a parking fee of $10 a day. We visited South Beach which is about 10-12 minutes away from the hotel (depending on traffic). This is a good hotel choice for those looking for a nice reasonably priced spacious room on the beach without the noisy crowds, but still close enough to all of the action! Once we finely found the hotel very secluded location directions on hotel website were not helpful. The Hotel was very nice small we asked for an oceanview we got a view of the parking lot and look to the left you see the ocean. But over all it was nice make sure you have a car due to the location of the hotel.

This is by far one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a while. The Quarzo hotel is beautifully designed, with high attention to detail, everything from the hallways to furniture and room accessories is pleasant! This place feels like staying on a luxury condo rental instead of a hotel. Staff was extremely friendly, at the same time discreet and […] very respectful. Location was great for us, because we wanted to stay away from the over-the-top Miami experience and the overwhelming resort vacation. Also, despite being such a nice hotel, nobody here seems to be even slightly snob (as it happens sometimes at boutique hotels). Bal Harbour is a beautiful, quiet and very upscale area, still close to shops, great restaurants and amazing beaches. Toileteries were replaced almost everyday in our bathroom, we also got several small gifts in our room during our 1 week stay (chocolates, a cute paper fan, jelly beans on a mini-jar). When we requested a couple of extra towels for the room, the housekeeping ladies left about 5 more!. When we wanted to print our flight boarding passes, the guests printer was not working, so they allowed us to use a computer on the front desk and print directly from there. There's is free WIFI in the room, it was great to get some work done, send some emails and plan our vacation on-site. Office manager, jorge, kept talking down to his staff right in front of us which made checking in uncomfortable. Didn't like $7 charge for laundry room card in addition to cost of using it. Dryer cycle $4.00 and washer use almost $4 and […] cost of card. Wanted to charge 2 days of parking for an over night stay at almost $20/day which they later changed to 1 day. Very spacious and very comfortable hotel. State of the art contemporary furnishing. You feel you are home away from home and definetly not in a hotel. Staff is very professional, courteous and well mannered. The only thing all of my family hated was to leave this hotel. We highly recommend it
