We were shocked at how tasty and inventive the rolls were. We ate there 2 times out of 3 nights for dinner. Get the Costa Rica roll, trust us. - guacamole and beers by the hot springs pools were a great way to unwind after long adventure-filled days. Until now, I have never been greeted at the front door with a refreshing wet towel to clean my hands followed by a cold fruit punch drink! Also, the front desk personnel were very friendly while checking us in and explaining all the property amenities. The cottage rooms had beautiful floral landscaping surrounding them. Inside, the room was well appointed […] with nice furnishings. And the mini-fridg was stocked with two Cokes, two beers and two bottles of water! The complimentary breakfast was more than a typical buffet which included several stations spread about. Fresh-from-the-garden fruit was delicious along with typical Costa Rican foods complemented by American fare. A dedicated omelet station was manned by an employee as well as someone else making fresh and warm tortillas. There were cold and warm swimming pools, both with swim-up bars. Waterfall features added to the ambiance. I wish the property had been located closer to La Fortuna, however, as it cost $10 each way when we wanted to venture into town. Dinner at the hotel was expensive, but when you add the cost of a taxi ride, it was a toss up. Oh well, it was vacation! I would return to this property if I ever go again. Devamı

Excelent. Staff was very friendly, especially Lucy, I fell and scraped my knee and she went out of her way to make sure my "injury" was dealt with. We highly recommend this location. The hot pools were great.

The mission of the hotel is to make people feel like it is a home and not a hotel - they do everything to make this happen. The entire staff that we met were happy, friendly and knowledgeable. Any questions about the flora or fauna at the resort were either answered or referred to someone who knew the answer. The grounds are spectacular, they are proud […] of their resort and it resonates to the guests. The views are amazing - they have 138 species of birds just at the resort and the staff is just as excited about seeing a different bird as the guests. The only reason we gave a four for the overall is based on two concerns: one - there is no free or inexpensive shuttle to Fortuna or the local airport; two, other than the breakfast buffet, which is included in your room cost and is fantastic, the food is just above average. It is hard for us to even state this but we are just trying to be totally honest. Would we return to Arenal Springs, yes, in a heartbeat. We are just giving an honest and straightforward review. This was by far the best place we've stayed at! They even run specials at the spa. The spa is great, the ambiance is perfect and the prices are quite reasonable. The thermal pools are great, the wet bar had good drinks, loved the fact that they were made with real fruit! The breakfast had a lot of choice and very tasty. The staff was the nicest I came across while traveling through Costa Rica. The rooms and the amenities were also quite nice. I would recomend asking for a room closer to the main reception building because it can be a little bit of a walk if you have a room towards the back of the property. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel, great thermal pools led to a swim-up bar/restaurant. Great tour director selected tours based on our interests from wide variety of tour companies. Friendly staff, recommended great international (tourist) and local Costa Rican restaurants. All 7 members of our family, from ages 1-63, loved it!

Cheap location for the service, accomodation (not superb but very decent and comfortable) and great view on the Arenal volcano. Close from many activities around Arenal and Fortuna. Helpful and service oriented staff. Got good advices on activities. 10 years old daugther got to do ziplining with one cable just short of 1km long through the forest canopy! […] loved it. Hot springs are great for the family and have different pools for all tastes. Plenty of restaurants closed by with a car! great hotel with a great location. to get to town you do need to take a car or taxi. taxi is $12 each way and easy to find. the hotel is amazing with awesome views of the volcano. The pools and hot springs are terrific and so is the swim up bar which can be reached from both the pool side and hot springs side. staff is super nice and helpful. They will […] help you book any excursion you are looking for. We had an issue with the airlines and the staff was able to call for us and translate for us. Just amazing. We left another hotel to find nice hot springs and a better breakfast. We found it at this hotel (at a higher price) but we missed things from the previous hotel. When we checked in they gave us a room right in front of all the construction going on and i mean right in front of us. There was dump trucks, hammering all day long. However did move us right […] away when we complained. i just dont know why they would even try to put us there. Our new room was on the other side of the resort and we could still hear all the contruction. I also didnt like that all the electricity turns off when you leave the room...... impossible to have a cold drink waiting for you when you got back from a long day. Overall though the resort is nice the hot springs are small but very nice, service was good, rooms were very nice and a beautiful view of Arenal and La Fortuna is a quick drive from the hotel. Room great. Breakfast great. But the best plus are the hot springs of the hotel with a sunken bar. Naturally warm water for you to relax in while you enjoy your drink. The bar's large screen TVs play US channels, so this was probably the best experience I had watching a NFL game. We got the best room at this resort, #903. Be sure to request it when reserving, it has the best view of the volcano. We loved Arenal Springs Resort and especially meeting Edward, the bird watcher! We will definitely return here the next time we go to Arenal.

The grounds of the hotel were beautiful! There was lots of space at the resort so it seemed like you had the place to yourselves. The room we got with two queen sized beds was a little crammed for 4 people. The shower was pretty because it looked like an indoor outdoor shower, but the water pressure was awful if you wanted to take a hot shower. The […] hot springs there were amazing. lots of little pools to relax in. The free breakfast was very accommodating for our allergy needs because they would make special orders if you couldnt eat it the way it was prepared. The staff was very friendly. Only downside was that they dont allow visitors to the grounds so if you meet a group they cant come to the resort unless they pay a fee. All in all it was a great place. Devamı

My boyfriend and I had a great stay at Arenal Springs and we would definitely recommend staying here. It was very beautiful and the rooms were cute and very large (ours had 2 queen beds) and yet still very affordable. Our favorite part was probably the natural thermal hot springs at the hotel with swim up bar. After each day's excursion we would relax […] there and get a few drinks and some food. Everyone was very friendly (as in all of costa rica we noticed), except there was one unfriendly front desk staff member (older male, balding) who never smiled, never was friendly, and when we checked out didn't even ask how our stay was or say have a good rest of your trip or anything. Other than that it was a great stay. Take advantage of the knowledgable concierge because they tell you all about excursions you can take and can even book them up to 20 minutes before they start (which is great if you want to do an activity on a sunny day). We went ATVing, on a cano negro tour, zip lining, hiking to la fortuna waterfall and more :) Free delicious breakfast in the morning and there is a nature center (Arenal Natura) near by that we went to that was fantastic (very awesome guide). Great place but expect rain during rainy season in the rainforest. Only saw the volcano for 15 minutes . too many clouds. It would be nice to have a light in front of the closet /safe. Too dark.

Great hotel for the price. Only negatives would be the natural hot springs are pumped in to normal type pools, and the walls on the rooms are thin. Positives are great staff, nice rooms, good view of the volcano, good free breakfast, wifi, cool shower and free water, beer, and coke in the room!

This place is now on the top of our list for our next trip to this area of CR; however, we will stay for at least 1 week instead of just 2 days. We truly enjoyed our stay at Arenal Springs toward the end of October (low season, QUIET and RELAXING!). When we arrived after a long ride from San Jose, we were greeted with a refreshing drink a warm hand […] towel, which was a nice detail. We were told that all rooms look the same. Our room was spacious, clean, beautiful decorated, and with a great view of the volcano. Food was great. The breakfast buffet was very good and varied - including omellet freshly made in front of us. The service was great both in the main lobby and at restaurant/swim up bar. The best part of the hotel is clearly its magnificent view of the volcano, which seems like it is right at your front door!. The hot springs are great - but we wished they were open starting at 6 am instead of 8am. The only complain we had (and that is why we rated "4" under Condition or maintenance of the hotel) is that the toilet had a leak; which we reported on the day we checked out. Exceeded our expectations! The swimming pool and swim up bar was great after a long day of hiking and sight seeing. Staff was wonderful and we will definitely go back to this hotel. Great location and view of volcano from everywhere on the hotel property. Loved the hot thermal water in the pools.

Awsome place! my only complaint and it is a personal opinion, is that the beds are a little too firm, not comfy enough. road in to hotel is a little rough, but great views, excellent servce! lots do to, very clean, would definately come back, and stay longer.

Great resort with great view of the volcano. The food at the restaurant was a bit disappointing (overpriced and not great) but it was adequate. The pools and springs were great. Really enjoyed our stay. Drive down the road into town to find tastier and cheaper options for food.

A very nice resort with outstanding suites and a great view of Arenal. The resort is gorgeous and well-maintained and beautifully designed. Our suite was beautiful with a great volcano motif on the lighting and the use of lots of wood. Volcano view from all rooms and one of the queen beds. Everything was outstanding. My only complaint was that the mattress' were rock hard. My friends were the same, so I think all the rooms must be that way? Also, they do not have black out curtains, so if your a lite sleeper, you may wake up early, but it's so beatiful there, who cares!!

This hotel was AMAZING !! Far better than any other in the La Fortuna Arenal area. ASK FOR ROOM #903. Best view on the grounds , its a 2nd level (which most are just bungalows on the ground) still amazing. But room #903 has a 2nd level view directly of volcano , and nothing blocking it. The breakfast free each morning was so delicious, some of EVERYTHING […] in silver platters. The grounds and hot springs are undescriable. Pura Vida ! We went on Zipline Sky Tram, did level 4 white water rafting, Hanging Bridges, we did it ALL. The tour guides were amazing and the hotel was just plain relaxing and beautiful. This hotel is WAY over priced! The food is terrible and the drinks outrageous! A mojito was $11 and Ragu Spagetti was $17. We saw hotels just as nice for 1/3 the price.

Two negatives- The access road to the resort is a bumpy dirt road. It's only several hundred yards long, but it's really bumpy and out of place for a resort like this. Second, in order to get power to your room, you must have the access card plugged into a card holder on the wall next to the door. This certainly keeps power costs down because when you […] leave, you have to take your card with you and the electricity shuts off when you unplug your card, but when you arrive at night you can't even have the outside lights on without the card plugged in, and since you need the card to get in the door, you have to do everything in the dark until you get in the door and plug in the card. It also shuts off the A/C when you leave, and although it doesn't get too uncomfortably hot in C.R., it takes quite a while to get the room cooled down after being off all day. Great location. You're outside Fortuna, but still close enough for a 5 minute drive to all the restaurants and bars. Every room faces the volcano and has a nice glass front wall, so you can wake up to an excellent view of the smoking Arenal Volcano. The hot springs pools are nice. There are different temperatures for each pool, and a swim up bar. Most of the staff was very helpful. There will always be a few that are rude, but you just leave them alone and interact with the staff that is nice. The breakfast area was awesome. There's nothing like eating breakfast at the base of a smoking volcano. Overall-great. Devamı

Loved the hotel. Pool was greal area. If you have a car, half the activites are to the left and half are to the right. If not the hotel can book the trips.

Loved our stay at the Arenal Springs hotel. The staff is super friendly, and the grounds and rooms are well maintained. The only thing that wasn't fantastic were the beds. They were a little too firm and uncomfortable. The views of the Arenal Volcano were spectacular, and we really enjoyed the hot springs pools there as well. Our most favorite experience […] while we were there was the Don Tobias horeseback riding tour we took, with our two children ages 14 and 16. Marvin was our guide, and he was really great. The horses were really good, and as experienced riders we were delighted that we were able to actually have a great ride with well trained horses. We enjoyed galloping through open fields, and loved seeing the rain forest up close and personal. The views were spectacular. I would highly recommend this hotel and especially the horseback riding tour. I just wish the beds were a little more comfortable. Devamı
