Hotel Crocus Caen Memorial - Caen

The photos make this hotel look alot nicer than it is! Rooms are very small, bathrooms are tiny. The man at the front desk was quite helpful with good advice. Locations isn't great, but we had a car so we managed alright. Breakfast extremely over priced - paid €9 for 1 bowl of cereal. I wouldn't reccomend staying here for a long time.

this is second time I have stayed here; again, I neeeded somewhere near the ferry port and was just looking for somewhere convenient and cheap. Again, this was excatly what I got. But staff were great; very helpful, understood my French and asked me which language I wanted to use, rather than just using English. Very helpful and freindly at meal times. The hotel has a nice lobby, and Dining room. It's located well, Parking is ample. The desk people were very friendly and spoke English well. They made accomidations for our Grandson, whom we had picked up in Amsterdam. The room however left a bit to be desired. The bathroom door closed, but didn't latch. My bed was quite worn, and the room had a rather […] strong odor. I opened the window which helped. Also the room was not sound proof, not even sound resistent. This hotel, whilst best described as basic was very good value for money. The room was clean and functional and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Being on the' periphique' it was easy to find and was well served by buses from the city. Unfortunately there was little in the way of bars in the immediate surrounding area. Was out of town a way, however as we were there only for one night it didn't matter (and we had a car). Was conveniently located near the Memorial. There was a restaurant on site and a lovely area in the sunshine you could sit and enjoy. The rooms were reasonably average with a light that didn't work, but acceptable for the price. this hotel is located near the main ring road around caen,but we still needed the sat nav to locate it as the hotel itself is situated near industrial estates. its cheap and cheerful,the first thing we noticed was a faint musty smell in the corridors.the corridor walls themselves where not covered in wallpaper but a kind of pink carpet type material! the […] rooms are small but adequate if you dont intend to reside in them all day.there also seemed to be a fair number of girl sports teams staying on 3 consecutive nights while we were there.breakfast is extra but good,its the usual continental stuff.evening meals in the restaurant served from 7.00 p.m,again not included in the price of your room. A satisfactory stay in a convienent location for the channel port at Ouistreham - hotel basic but adequate - rooms small, and facilities as prefabricated caravan style - shower, basin & toilet. One night only for us, and wouldn't want to be based there - priced Value for Money.

Wow, where to start as we have very mixed feelings about this place! Pulling up into the parking lot was a shock as the exterior gave the impression of a totally two-bit dump. We checked in, went up the stairs, freaked out on the unlit hallways (which then lit by motion sensors) and general 70's-ish appearance of the walls and floor, got into our quite […] small room, and immediately started talking about if we should go find another place to stay! We decided to get something to eat in the restaurant downstairs and decide. The restaurant was empty, but filled up as we ate. The food was actually just fine and the service pretty good (our waiter/front desk guy seemed like he must have had some sort of training in a fancier place). We decided to stay at least one night out of our two-night reservation due to the fact that the rest of the hotel guests in the restaurant seemed very normal and regular. I think this hotel in the US would have been filled with pimps and prostitutes, but everyone here seemed like totally normal folk. The hotel itself is in kind of an industrial area with not much to do, although it is very close to the Caen Memorial, which is part of why we chose it. It is maybe 8 minutes from downtown and the Chateau Ducal which was also nice. We ended up staying both nights as after the initial shock, the room was comfortable and clean, although the bathroom is one of those precast, plastic, all-in-one, right off the Space Shuttle type deals. It was a little tight to say the least and neither my wife nor I are big people. Thinking about this now causes mixed emotions: Was it an ok place to stay for the price? Yes, but only because it was so inexpensive and the rest of the guests were regular people looking for a hotel close to the Caen Memorial. However, this hotel was ranked as #4 in Caen. I'm not sure how it can possibly be this high. Was the hotel staff up to snuff? Yes, I think any of them could work in a higher-end hotel. Was the restaurant ok? Yes. Devamı

Room very hot during the night could do with Air Con in the room. All very clean but bit of a tight squeeze in the bathroom. Only stayed one night so only ate one meal breakfast where there was a good choice but coffee brewed and not hot.. No drink facility in room

trés bon rapport calité prix proche de tous (restaurent centre comercial mémorial quick mcdo à 40km des plages omaha et du cimetiere américain) bon accueil. trés satisfait de mon séjour làbas.

accueil un peu froid mais courtois. malgré une odeur persistante dans la chambre, un voisin très bruyant la nuit (ronflement plus dangeureux pour lui que pour nos oreilles) l'ensemble est satisfaisant. La note globale est très largement rehausser par la qualité de la cuisine. Hotellet har såkaldt fri Internetforbindelse, men den virkede stort set ikke i 4 dage, og forbindelsen var langsom. Hotellet mangler også en engelsksproget TV nyhedskanal, eks. BBC eller CNN, alle tilgængelige kanaler er kun på fransk. Bortset fra dette - udmærket hotel til prisen, fine parkeringsmuligheder ved hotellet.

Eenvoudig, voordelig hotel. Ideaal voor uitstapjes in de regio zoals de invasiestranden en musea. Direct vanuit het hotel zit je dan al op de juiste route. Ontbijt is eenvoudig en iets aan de dure kant, het diner is daarentegen zeer voordelig en smakelijk. Voor 7,50 de dagschotel met daarbij een mandje brood en een kan water.

Hotelli sijainti hyvä Caenin keskustan ulkopuolella. Aamiainen ei sisälly hintaan, mutta oli erikseen maksettuna hinta/laatusuhteeltaan hyvä. Kokonaisuudessaan hotelli oli hyvä hintaansa nähden.

La salle de bain est fonctionnelle mais l accueil est appréciable, surtout la situation du l'hotel qui est proche du Mémorial.

un acceuil tres chaleureux un petit dejeuner tres correct situe dans un endroit tres calme nous avons passe 2 nuit tres agreables nous reviendront et nous le recommendons a tous

Nice little hotel. Good bed. Room and Bathroom small but okay. (Too big of a belly - and you would'nt be able to squeeze you onto the toilet.) For the price - it was okay.

hotel in posizione ottimale per la visita del memoriale di caen (da non perdere assolutamente), che è possibile raggiungere anche a piedi in 5 minuti. distanza dal centro città 10min in macchina. il quartiere circostante è abbastanza vuoto. l'hotel non è grandissimo,ma molto carino. i dipendenti si sono rivelati molto gentili e disponibili. il ristorante […] (abbiamo cenato lì) è stato una piacevole sorpresa. Le rapport qualité pris n'est pas exceptionnel. Les chambres de l'hôtel sont vraiment petites. Globalement l'hôtel est propre et silencieux. Si vous chercher le grand confort passez votre chemin.

Très bon sejour du mercredi au lundi. Bonne etape à caen. Nous avons fait la route de st malo à etretat en passant evidemment par l'inoubliable mont st michel

Dit hotel voldoet prima voor het doel om er te slapen en te ontbijten en verder heel de dag weg te zijn. Goede ontvangst, duidelijke regels, niet te duur, niet te luxe, gewoon no-nonse voor 2 kerels die de landingsstrook van Normandie wilden verkennen. In dat kader moet je onderstaande beoordeling lezen. Un hotel un peu vieillot dans sa déco ; les chambre sont petites tout comme la salle de bain mais tout est propre et de plus le personnel est agréable ; Petit déjeuné basic
