The Richmond Hotel - Edinburgh

This 'hotel' is should be called guesthouse instead. It is situated in a residential area which is really close to the train station; with heavy luggage its takes around 10 mins walk. (if you know the exact route) My room is number 7 which is really at the front, facing the road. Even after midnight the traffic seems regular and I got awaken several […] times during the night even with ear plugs on. 2 issues caused my rather negative rating on this place. 1. The shower was fake! To say it is not working is an understatement! The heater unit wasn't even connected to a water pipe and no water comes out. 2. The room is apparently attractive to insects and not 1 but 2 bees flew in. Imagine being this! I also noticed that there is not air-conditioning unit and wonder how travelers during summer will cope with more insects and the heat. There should be a 'insect screen' mounted. However, the plus side is that the housekeeper, Tommy is extremely affable and helpful. Unfortunately, because of the 2 huge negatives, I will not recommend this 'hotel'. Devamı

Eager to help you out, for example - when it isn't too busy - to serve breakfast right at your room door or even half an hour late.

"Does what it says on the tin". Some confusion with credit card payment was rectified very quickly by manager.

This hotel is pretty central to Edinburgh and it made walking around the city very easy. It would probably benefit people not coming in by car as there is no parking, but easy access to the train station. The rooms were basic and a bit worn down but they were clean and the shower was hot. The first night the room was slightly cold but this was not […] repeated on the second night. The breakfast was good in terms of volume and choice. When we first arrived, however, we rang the doorbell repeatedly to get in and no one answered, eventually being let in by another guest. We also had problems in finding someone to return our key to. Overall this is a budget hotel and it fulfilled its description. Devamı

The room was good, the hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel was the perfect location: just around the corner from the sights of Edinburgh. The hotel was very good for the price, perfect for a cheap and cheerful city break in Edinburgh. Also, in the hotel lobby there was a computer that we could use to access the internet for free, which was […] great. We used it to plan our next day in the city and look up bus times. Devamı

My Fiancé and I stayed at this hotel chosen by location. Was further than we had expected and there were a few confusions about room service in which they said they did not provide, only to have the guest information disagree of this. The room itself had cracks on the walls, a barely covered electrical fitting behind wardrobe, bed was really uncomfy, window […] let in all noise even when closed, toilet seat was not fitted on properly, toilet flush was not working either, drain of shower did not work, finding light switches was difficult as there were far too many other switches. Finding the hotel itself was a bit difficult due to poor marking, only the door itself said it was a hotel. We will NOT be coming back there and will most certainly NOT be recommending it to friends. La chambre N°3 est juste au dessus de la cuisine Thaï. Les odeurs notamment de poisson remonte dans la chambre ce qui est très désagréable. La ventilation de la cuisine fait trembler le sol de la chambre. Nous n'avons pas pu changer de chambre. Points positif l'hôtel est relativement bien placé proche de princes street ( 5-10 min) et le petit déjeuné […] est correct. le meilleur: la qualité de l'accueil, la situation au centre ville, le petit-déjeuner. le pire: l'état de la chambre, un peu "désuet", pas de volets au rez-de-chaussée côté rue, pas de double-vitrage. mais finalement bon séjour (2 nuits); le plafond n'est pas tombé!

Kom kl.1200 fikk ikke check inn før kl.1500. Bagasjen skulle de legge på rommet, men,den lå der vi satt den, da vi kom tilbake kl.1800. Vi var de eneste gjester, men rommet ble det ikke gjort noe med før jeg klaget ca1600. Te, melk, sukker og toalett papir, måtte jeg spørre om å få.

Et lille, men hyggeligt hotel. Personalet er meget venligt og hjælper med alt, man har brug for. Ligger meget centralt og samtidig fredeligt, med en lille park overfor, og en herlig udsigtsbakke i nærheden! Der er busser lige udenfor døren.

Hotellet har ett centralt läge, vilket är bra om man ska utforska Edinburgh. Personalen var trevlig, och trots att vi anlände alldeles för tidigt fick vi vårt rum direkt. Dock ligger hotellet längs en vältrafikerad väg, vilket vi fann störande nattetid då rummet var mycket lyhört. Rummet hade dessutom flagnande tapeter, fuktskador i taket och en dusch […] som sett sina bästa dagar. Devamı
