I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to have a good time. The hotel was very clean, good location, close to the beach, and some place to eat, nice staff, really comfy bed!

The hotel is now called the plaza san juan, it needs urgent renovation. Don't go there... We stayed there 1 night at the end on february 2013. The room we had was smellig very bad, very humid. Too close from the elevator we could'nt sleep... Room was very small...

We were NOT informed of the change of hotel ownership so were very upset that we didn't earn our points - as that was the ONLY reason why we selected this hotel in the first place. Accommodations are only OK at best. The rooms were very humid and everything (including our clothes) were damp all the time. YUCKY!! The hotel beds were way too soft - had […] back aches the entire time we were there. Our room was reportedly a 'disabled room'. It was NOT set up to accommodate anyone in a wheelchair - counter, beds too high, tub not accessible, couldn't get a wheelchair around the beds - too small spaces. Breakfast OK but not what I expected (wanted yogurt, scones, more fruit). Tour desk staff very helpful - but don't do any of their tours - way to pricey - you can do it yourself online. The bathroom extractor fan sucked so the bathroom stayed moist/ damp for hours after we showered. So forget about putting your bathing suite to dry! The room always smelled like humidity and felt cold even with the AC off. The dresser smelled like humidity so we asked for extra hangers which they provided but we packed for a week so we didnt have enough. […] We still had to put clothes in the drawers, we figure the clothes would stink but had no choice, kept the drawers open and still couldn't avoid bringing stinky clothes back home so came straight home to do laundry! Bed and pillows were comfortable and house keeping always had fresh clean towels ready. Breakfast was ok nothing too fancy, cereal, toast, coffee, juice, milk, some pastries and some microwaveable look alike omelettes and sausages. Pool was decent and hot tub was dirty! The hotel is now San Juan Plaza. My sister and I stayed a week, Jan 2013, and found it to be a nice hotel. Not a 5 star but the rooms were fine and for difference in price a nice hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Edith, Mayra and Carlos. Safe area just off Ashford Ave and near Casino and upscale hotels. We took the bus, 75 cents […] one way, and went to Old San Juan. Bus stop a couple blocks away. Also took bus to ferry (.50) and then 3.00 on a shuttle to the Rum distillery which was free tour of factory. The hotel is still undergoing updates, we were on 7th floor and all was well. The Hotel Changed its name to San Juan Plaza Hotel two weeks before we got there and the Holiday Inn signs were covered up by banners. The Hotel had a hard time with the reservations both times we were there, could not find them, also confused on where to look for the reservations and pricing etc. Charged $40 difference from one stay to the next only […] one week apart. Some of the front desk people spoke Spanish only and were not very friendly.The rooms were OK and the Breakfast was good and the staff there were very friendly. This is advertised as a Holiday Inn Express, in fact it is called San Juan Plaza as of at least 2 months ago, so I figured that Holiday Inn express did not want it to carry it's name.

Our room had black mold on the walls and in the bathroom. Also, we had reserved and paid for a King sized bed. The first night we got there, they put us in a queen and had no Kings available. Didn't credit us or anything. The 2nd night they were able to get us a king.

The staff is great, real helpful and kind. The breakfast is also great from 6 am to 9 am. The hotel is clean and the location is close to all major malls.

Hotel was nice and clean. The floors were not carpeted, they were tiled and a bit cold, but it were clean. The staff was very helpful. The hotel was in a good location. Would stay there again.

It was hard to find the light switch, the heater didn't work, my room didn't have a good access to a fire escape, they were out of toothpaste...

We had some difficulty finding this place because it is now under the new name - San Juan Plaza Hotel. We drove in circles until I stopped to ask for directions in the very same hotel and the clerk cheerfully said "You found it! Welcome!" There were some upgrades and renovations going on as we were staying and overall we had a very good impression of […] this hotel. Location is very good in proximity to Ashford avenue. Some staff were great, such as a wonderful woman in the breakfast room. Some staff were less than helpful, or even unpleasant, such as a desk clerk when asked for hydrogen peroxide for a bad cut. The room was cramped for three.

My stay was only a weekend, the room facilities were comfortable. the only thing that could improve is in the bathroom because the tub feels like detached and feels the impression one may fall. Breakfast very good and varied to suit all tastes.

Room was rather small, no electrical outlets available without unplugging something and were hard to get to. TV cable was not working . Had to pay for parking across the street in a garage on the 3rd floor with no elevator.

The only thing that wasn't too accommodating was the fact that the hotel had no parking, so one had to pay 15 dollars a day for parking. Everything was great!! They even swap my tv out because the remote was missing!!

The lobby was fine. But when I entered the room it was small. Tried to turn on the t.v (L.G) the remote was from Toshiba couldn't do anything and then found a Roach under the dining table alive..

This is an OK hotel! The price was very good and the staff was very nice. Breakfast was nice, but the breakfast room was too small for the amount of people they had over the weekend. The rooms were too small for my taste but were clean.

I've had in the past years stayed in san juan, condado area and ii love the area as a whole. The hotel doesn't have its own parking that's what I'm use to and the bathroom iis tiny. I did enjoy the convience of the hotel to the beach and the highway. AND breakfast is happeniing I enjoyed it.

Great location and close to the beach, shops and great nightlife. Everything is a walk away which is great if you don't rent or have a car. The rooms are a little bit on the smaller end however the service was great. The staff were very professional and go out of their way to help. They had great breakfast selection.

The staff was helpful and good. The hotel was clean. The pool was not very big and did not look very clean so we did not use it. Our room was just above the pool which was noisy until 11:00pm. I stayed here for 3 nights in July of 2012. My room was very clean, the hotel staff was very helpful and did everything they could to make our stay a good one but I would only recommend this hotel for someone who's planning to spend the majority of the day out and only needs a place to sleep. If you are looking for a place to crash in the heart of Condado with no bells & whistles, then, this is the place. It’s not fancy but it’s clean and the staff is very friendly. I had to wait for several hours before a room became available. The space for the room is minimal especially in the bathroom. The air conditioning is far too strong and I doubt the filters are cleaned regularly. The breakfast was terrible. The front desk staff in the evening are less than professional . This is a no frills hotel, but very close to the beach. It is clean, friendly staff, and definitely meets the needs. The rooms are quite small, especially for a family of four.

The front desk personnel were helpful when I needed to get some work docs done by letting me use their office. Complimentary breakfast was good, location was good near the airport and Old San Juan. Room was small and had no microwave or fridge all extra $. Parking is also extra. Maids were friendly and accommodating.
