At the End of the Road is a Bed and Breakfast less than 1/2 an hour from the Jaggar Museum in Volcanoes National Park. Very homey -- quite literally their home with three rooms for guests. It was a bit cold at night and the window drapes let light in through quite easily so I didn't sleep all that great. We had Killi's room. Very clean,comfortable and quiet. Innkeeper Ray was very helpful with advice regarding the Volcano Park which was VERY close by. The room rate was very reasonable and better than any of the other local B and B's. We will be back

Lani and Ray are very nice and give us great tips of the park, Hilo and even Kona. Conversation with them and other guests is very pleasant. They always asked whether we have enough bread, coffee, etc. We would stay here again if we con back to Volcano.

This is a quiet B&B. Rooms are in the owner's home but separate from their living area. The owners are very helpful and have a lot of local knowledge. The house is clean and comfortable. Hosts are very helpful and friendly and breakfast was nicely prepared but stay was marred by the fact that there are no facilities for guests to make their own cup of coffee or have access to any kitchen facilities. Lonnie and Roy took very good care of us from the moment we arrived until our departure. They gave us tips on visiting Volcano National Park, and were kind enough to make a couple phone calls regarding a tour in which we expressed an interest. They welcomed our 12 year old son. If you are visiting the park, I would highly recommend booking the (limited) […] accommodations well in advance of your stay. Spending the night in Volcano is a bonus as it allows ample time to view the volcano's night time "glow", then drive leisurely back to the B & B. The roads are dark and I would not recommend driving all the way back to Kona which many people opt to do. We arrived "At the End of the Road" during the day and could read the street signs. This B&B is a very good value. The location is perfect - very close to Volcanoes Nat'l Park. It is run by a couple who is very friendly and happy to provide advice on sightseeing. This is a house and there are two rooms they rent out, which are on the opposite side of the house so it feels private. I enjoyed our stay there very much.

This B&B was just as the other reviewers described. The home was very nicely decorated, clean, and inviting. We stayed in Kili's Room, which was perfect for the three of us. Our son enjoyed watching their horse and goats roaming around the back of their property in the morning. The animals didn't make a peep and we found the place to be very, very quiet. […] We also had our own bathroom which was a plus. It is very close to Volcanoes National Park and is easy to find, as it is truly "At the End of the Road" on Haunani Road. Just keep driving past the Dead End sign until you run out of road. You will see their gate and recognize the B&B immediately from the picture. This was our first experience with a B&B and we really enjoyed our stay. At the End of the Road B&B was a real treat on our visit to Big Island, it really felt like visiting old friends. The location is perfect for visiting the Volcano Park, although it can be a bit tricky to find without a GPS (the hosts will send you detailed instructions, though). Perfect location for visiting Volcanoes National Park. You can visit the Park in the evening to view the glow of the volcano lava if you can brave the dark roads! The B & B provides flashlights. This is my very first B&B experience, and Rei and Lani have set the bar high! The house indeed is located At the End of the Road, however pretty easy to find, you just drive all the way down and you will find it. It is very quiet since the house is the last one on the road, and it is sitting on a land with good size. Rei and Lani are very hospital, […] if you are a first time visitor of the volcano, they definately can give you some good info. I booked this B&B for two nights since I was visiting Volcanoes National Park. The location was excellent and the price was right. However, when I first arrived, I couldn't get in because there is an electronic gate, and the owner must see you to let you in. I went back a few hours later and waited 5 minutes before she saw me. When I entered the home, […] I was immediately hit with the smell of dog. Not just a little smell, but it STANK. I have no problems with animals in the house, and I understand they can leave some odor, but this was ridiculous! I wasn't allowed to roll my 50+ pound suitcase over her laminate flooring (which she called "hardwood"). My room didn't smell (I guess the dogs aren't allowed in there) but she has a private office across from my room, so the hallway reeked, too. There's a note in the bathroom indicating that women aren't allowed to use the towels/washcloth to take make up off but must use kleenex, which wasn't even in the bathroom. The towels were hunter green, so I'm not sure why taking my makeup off was going to soil them so badly. The breakfast was lackluster and sparse. The options were a bagel, English muffin or toast. The condiments were parsed out in very small quantities (the jelly just colored my bagel, and I wasn't offered any extra) And a small dish of papaya was offered. All in all, it's the same breakfast I expect from Days Inn, and that's not saying much. The sitting area had a huge TV with almost any channel you could want, but again, the smell of dog was so overpowering! I ended up using my travel can of lysol to mask the smell. Overall, the entire place needed a good dusting and some sweeping (there were dust bunnies and cobwebs in the corners). I would not stay here again, and I wouldn't recommend it to others. Devamı

The hosts were great and met us at the door with a big smile - made us feel comfortable right away. We stayed in the room with attached ensuite, which is big enough to have an entire family there, and has windows on two sides of the room, overlooking the garden. Breakfast was refreshing and we enjoyed our morning conversations with the hosts in the kitchen. I stayed here only one night and was expecting your standard, shared-house b&b experience but it was nice to find out upon arriving that that the room I was given was more motel style than b&b. It offered more privacy than expected, which for me is definitely a plus. I was greeted by a very friendly innkeeper and his two dalmations. Our stay was pleasant. We arrived 5 PM with a picnic dinner. They were gone on an errand but left keys. We ate our picnic dinner in our car in their beautiful yard. We so enjoyed staying at at the end of the road B&B -- the owners were a couple, and the half of the house were allocated for guests stay. The rooms were clean, a nice bed with bath, everything you would need for B&B . The owners are wonderful people, we were able to talk and guess how it is like to be living in Hawaii Island -- it adds a lot to our […] travel experience! The breakfast is small and good coffee, which was perfect for us -- if you expect a huge breakfast buffet, you probably should choose other types of accommodation. Also, the location is lovely -- it is very close to the Volcano village (1 minute drive) and the national park (5 minutes drive) but also pretty close to the town of Hilo and beautiful beaches. It is just an OK accommodation. The description does not say it is indeed at the end of a VERY LONG narrow road which at some sections make you think you are going into the wilderness. I would recommend folks visiting Volcano NP to stay at Hilo instead. You drive another 20 to 30 minutes but to a much better environment than this funky surrounding. The […] hosts are not very friendly either. The breakfast is really skimpy. You have a choice of a bagel, or 2 toasts, or 2 pieces of homemade banana bread, a juice or a papaya cup (papaya can be bought at 5 for a $1 at Hilo farmer's market and the fruit cup consisted less than 1/4 of a papaya!) and you have to ask for refill for your coffee or tea. At the End of the Road B&B was an excellent find for our one night stay in Volcano. We spent the day exploring the Volcanoes National Park and had arranged a late check-in. Ray was very welcoming when we arrived and didn't mind that we wanted to head back out to see the volcano at night. The B&B is conveniently located in Volcano village, with some […] nice places to eat within easy driving distance and Ray was a fount of information about the island and Hawaii in general. His wife Lani wasn't there when we stayed but she had emailed me when we booked, with information about the volcano and national park - very useful. The B&B was extremely clean and comfortable and the owners had thought about all the extra touches like cold drinking water and toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent too and we didn't feel under any pressure to rush, staying to chat in fact for a couple of hours. Overall, if we were staying in the area again we'd head back to this B&B with no hesitation.
