Econo Lodge Waterloo - Waterloo

The room was clean, the location was perfect for the event we were attending at the fairgrounds. The bathroom was a little small, but it was adequate. The restaurant next door was good. All in all, we were very satisfied with our stay. The staff was very helpful as well.

You get what you pay for. The room and bed were clean, matress and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was muffins, donuts, and cold cereal.

Not very well maintained, but the room was clean. They have a 72 hour cancellation policy, which very inconvienant, good for them - bad for travelers. The complimentary breakfast was almost nonexistant - very minimal. For a few dollars more it would pay to upgrade at a different motel. I know we will next time!

When I checked in the girl at the counter was taking a personal phone call. Instead of hanging up she looked right at me, got up and went into the back room to finish her phone call leaving me to wait for close to 5 minutes. Stayed here because it was near the starting line of a half marathon my son and I ran. The hotel was pretty much exactly what we expected for the price. A room with two beds, a bathroom and a shower. No amenities but just what we needed. The beds were very comfortable and gave us the good night's sleep we needed before the race. This is an older refurbished hotel. The rooms are clean and WiFi is free. I recommend staying here if you are looking for an inexpensive, clean and well located stay.

I thought, "eh we can get by on the cheap for one night, right?" Wrong. We regretted staying here even to the point of checking out at 2 AM and driving back home. Primarily because the air conditioner failed. It was hotter than blazes in our room when we arrived. We turned it on full blast for an hour before we left with minimal improvement. 3 hours […] later that night we returned to find our room hotter than we left it, and slept in misery for the rest of the night. It is cheap and you get what you pay for. Asked for a late check out of 1 pm which they said was ok, then called me @ 11:15 am and said I needed to be out in ten minutes. The place smelled really bad. If you stay more than one night, they do not clean your room or give you clean towels.

Motel is in the process of being renovated, so was not in very good condition. However when we asked for a room with new beds in it, we were immediately given a better room with very comfortable beds.

It had a very small, room but ti was clean and comfortable..I would stay there again. Staff helpful and willingf to see to comfort. Check out girl in morning lacked finesse and ability to deal with client too well.. But minor th ing.

If we ever have to go back to Waterloo Iowa we will diffently be staying there. Very friendly, clean hotel. Also, had an issue with a hotel and hotel.com operator was very, very professional and curtious. He was able to secure a room at another hotel for us at a great rate.

in order to save from having to leave original starting point at 5 a.m. to get to UNI graduation at recommended time, found the Econo Lodge via Hotels.com. Although an older facility, it met our needs for the night.

This hotel was by far the worst hotel I have stayed at in over 20 years. I travel frequently and booked this reservation on a weekend when all rooms in this town where full. I would rather sleep in my vehicle and bath in a public restroom than stay at this hotel again.

My wife had to clean the toilet seat. Toilet looked like it had been a while since inside was scrubbed. There were hairs in bathtub and on bathroom floor. No coffeemaker or hairdryer in room. Refrigerator in room did not function. Very watery coffee at "continental breakfast". Even a discount hotel should meet a minimum standard for cleanliness and […] amenities. This one failed. This is a good (cheap) choice if you only need a hotel for few days.

The refridgerator in my room didn't work and the Internet was so slow the second morning as to not be useable (but it was the suppliers fault - the hotel couldn't print bills either).

reasonably priced, 5 minutes from airport. Service was good, room was musty and outdated. If just need an economical place to sleep one night near airport, not bad choice for the price.

we thought everything was great until I went to take a shower... The shower was ok but we had to get going right away.. We could not find a hair dryer. I had to sit in front of the heater/air conditioner - had to turn on the heat and turn the fan on high.....not too convient..
