Econo Lodge Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

So it was ok for a short stay we were there for 3u nights and by the last night I was Soooo ready to leave the junk hole. The hot tub is not hot its just a more of a heated pool.... the shower was horrible the hotel can not handle the water output showers were cold. The neighborhood is horrible u could smell the drugs. Never stay there again

we don't stay in the room a lot on vacation, we simply need a safe and clean space to rest our heads. saying this the room was fine, it was clean the staff was nice. beds comfortable. could sorta see the ocean if you went in the hall and leaned on the balcony. neighbors were sometimes loud since the room was cheap the customers were a lot of collage […] kids parking area not so great, parking was tight. this is not the best hotel I've stayed at in Myrtle Beach, but not the worst. there are so many other hotels in MB, I would most likely try another next time unless this one just happens to be reasonably cheaper than any others. Worst hotel experience ever!

This was our first visit to Myrtle Beach so we weren't really sure the 'right' place to stay. The rate was amazingingly inexpensive so my expectations weren't real high. Upon checking in the desk clerk let us look at our room first. It was ok but they allow pets on the first floor and I wasn't comfortable with that so she offered us another room. We […] looked at it and it was clean & tidy and fit our needs just fine. This is by no means a 5 star hotel, it is a beach motel that has seen years of guests. It is seeing it's age but in decent shape. We were in the room to sleep & shower. We spent our days at the pool & beach. The full size refrigerator came in handy to hold the leftovers from dinners out, which in turn saved us $$ on lunches! :) The motel is on the beach & about 20 blocks or so from the Grand Strand area, almost a 2 mile walk. We were very pleased with the hotel. The elevator could have used some updating. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Will definitely stay there again.

the room was ok however when i checked in there was a lot of housekeeping and maintance equipment in the room. It was being used for storage apparently. When i called the front desk no one answered so i went down and the guy did appoligize and removed the items from the room, however everytime i tried to call no one answered and everyone that called […] to get in touch with me got hung up on. Lets start with the pictures of the hotel on the web, they look pretty good but in reality the hotel is very old and in bad condition. It is very very run down, unkempt, dirty, it smells terrible. The room was so bad we felt dirty just walking in. The shower was disgusting and all we had was cold water. When I dried off with the towel I had a long black […] hair stick to me-ick. We couldn't wait to get home and wash everything we took there (including long hot showers for us). We were stuck staying there because we prepaid on hotels.com. It was a last minute trip and the rates was great the room was very clean and the location was right on the beach

Hotel is ocean front. Access is via public entrance ways. Hotel is old perhaps built in 70s. Rug was musty smelling, old but decently clean. Room size is late 70's style (small). Small building compared to other hotels nearby. Room entrance/window faced the Days Inn which looked eye appealing. overall the room was fine,clean and the bed slept good,but the pools suck,advertise hot tub,not one to be found ,water in a small pool but CERTAINLY NO HEAT. leave it to the familys living there,spend a little more get what you want,I WILL FROM NOW ON.

the hotel is right on the beach. Even though it was the holiday weekend it was quite and there was plenty of "FREE" parking! The staff were freindly and the room was clean. This was the worst place I have ever stayed. The room had an awful smell!!! The room was small, cramped and the bathroom was so small that the toilet was practically in the shower. Never staying at another EconoLodge again!

We wanted to take a last minute trip to the beach for cheap. We chose Econolodge and it fit the bill just fine. The rooms are small but comfortable. Having the fridge and micro were a plus for the price. The hotel itself is pretty old and worn but fine nonetheless. The room was clean, the staff was nice, breakfast was convenient if not varied. The sink was clogged in our room. The fridge didn't work. Started to work overnight while asleep and all of our food froze. Pop machine stole my money. Couldn't take a bath. Only a shower. Only good thing was that it was right on the beach. Wouldnt reccomend this hotel to anyone.

A hotel on the beach. Literally on the beach for a reasonable price. Not the most "updated" place. Not the best continental breakfast (but it was FREE). But the best location at a reasonable price. PS: If there is a 'better' hotel for $20 more - spend the money.

because we had left for the beach a day early, and had reservations at a different hotel. This hotel is right on the beach they have a small but well taken care of pool and beach access was easy. should of been alot better for the price. the room was much smaller than i expected,it had the smallest bathroom i ever seen in a hotel room, there was no room to move u could step in the tub from the doorway, the tub did not drain right, the microwave was dirty, i really dont see me ever staying there again

I'll admit, I was hesitant about staying in such a cheap hotel, but my wife is a penny pincher, so we went for it. Looking back, I'm glad we did. We were on the ground floor, so all we had to do was walk out our door and we were on the beach. Never having to say, "Oh no, we have to walk all the way back to the hotel?!" any time you forgot something […] was the best selling point of all. Granted, you still have to hike up the stairs or ride the slow elevator if you're on the upper floors, but it's better than having to walk across a street or down a block. Speaking of blocks, the hotel is 23 blocks south of the boardwalk. I forget what the GPS said, but I think it was about 2-3 miles. Pretty far to walk, but we brought our bikes and they were perfect. There's a dedicated bike lane for all but the last two blocks so biking felt safe and convenient. Boardway at the Beach is also just over 3 miles away, though I didn't want to bike down the highway to get there. Maybe if I had been in better shape, but parking at Broadway has free parking, so I didn't mind. But back to the hotel. It was small, yes, but it was only the wife and I. The TV didn't work, no, but we were never in the room anyway and just read at night. The best was the mini fridge and microwave, which was convenient because we brought hotdogs to make as snacks when 1) you're not hungry enough to warrant a meal at a sit-down restaurant and 2) you don't want to get gouged for the boardwalk snacks (remember, penny-pinching.) That being said, the hotel served our purposes perfectly; it was a staging room and place to eat. Oh, and the complimentary breakfast was nice, too. Room was not very clean - carpet wasn't cleaned or vacuumed in a long time. Bathroom was very small; not very well maintained. Bed was comfortable. The hotel personnel were very pleasant. The pool was a bit small and not very clean.

The beds, pillows, bed sheets, and the hotel very dirty and smell like a barnyard, sorry if I said that but that is the truth.

It was very dirty and cloudy. It appeared that the workers were using it with their kids one day. Lots of underage kids drinking and smoking poolside. I saw the man clean the pool one day - took him 2 minutes and it looked the same after. Neighbouring pools were sparkling. Did have adequate seating and lounge chairs. OH!!! Had an efficiency unit - with […] no pots pans glasses - absolutely nothing. No laundry detergent etc for sale. Kids pool is waaayyy worse then adult pool. if this hotel was a block off the ocean, i would get my money back..room was clean but very run down, hotel staff was friendly but hotel is old and need sum wrk...location cnt be beat

Good room for the money, clean rooms, helpful staff. On the beach, with pool. Continental breakfast fair, small selection but enough. Ample parking, would recommend to others.

I just came home today 7-27-2011 from the beach & we stayed at this hotel again. We stayed here last year also, & will again next year. It's a nice, good price, decently well maintained hotel right on the beach. You Can't Beat It. They have a very nice staff. The only problem we have every year is a parking issue. We have a big SUV, we have to park […] upstairs because of the size of our vehicle. The cars & smaller vehicles are supposed to park on the lower level. That don't always happen & they don't enforce this problem. If you come in late at night you may not find a parking spot because there are cars on the upper level. This wasn't bad for the price. The only bad things I have to say were the room was VERY small ( I had read in an earlier review that someone said you needed to leave the bathroom to turn around ..well they weren't kidding.), the TV was old and crappy and the location of the hot tub was a bit creepy (right off the parking area). ..but overall we were […] very satisfied. We have stayed at other Econo Lodge before and always find the service great and the rooms are very well kept and clean. Would recommend to friends and hope to stay there again next summer.

Up on arriving at Econo Lodge I was a little nervous about the surrounding area. When I checked in the person at the desk was fairly nice. When I asked question on what I had asked for, he said, did HOTEL. COM tell you that and I said yes. I did not get the rooms that I asked for, our rooms were on the opposited side of the building. One morning I went to the front desk and the person was on a personal phone call and never acknowledge me standing there for five minutes so I walked out. Breakfast is cereal according to theoffice. Our toilet leaks constantly. Bathroom is tiny and stove looks100 years old. Location is great and for the price you can't reallycomplain but if you're looking for a nice room go somewhere else.

The hotel is beach front and very close to all the big activities on the main strip. The only thing I didnt like was that my room was only cleaned once during my 3 night stay. Every hotel Ive ever stayed in has done a full clean and restock of toiletries every day. The price of a stay at the Econo Lodge was excellent value compared to their competitors, and having been in several other hotels, the Econo Lodge is of a very similar standard. My room was clean and my stay comfortable.

It is a low cost place to stay. That is reflected in the condition of the hotel, The staff are very courteous and responded promptly to any request.

The tub had a crack and the bathroom was small; therefore, everytime you used the shower the floor would fill up with water. The hotel was cheap and you get what you pay for....poor quality.

This hotel was very cheap so I automatically assumed it would be a dump. I was very surprised when I arrived. It was nice, in a good location, had free breakfast, and great staff! We arrived about 8 in the morning and they allowed us to check in rather than wait until 3 that afternoon!! The only thing that I didn't like was when I went to make coffee […] in my room the pot had the past guests coffee bag in it. It was pretty gross. I didn't report it so nothing was done about it. I was a little leary about booking this hotel because of the online pics.But we booked a room anyways.I was pleasantly pleased overall with the hotel and the service we recieved from the staff. The hotel is a little outdated, but you cant beat the price. Service was great and the room was very clean.

I felt compelled to write about my experience at the Econo Lodge in Myrtle Beach, SC. During my preparation in obtaining a room for 3 days during the Harley-Davidson Bike Week, I was directed to this Lodge, in reading the reviews, I became worried and uneasy due to the negative reviews i read. To make my point clear. These reviews were totally wrong […] and disrespectful to the Econo Lodge company and their staff. My Mother owns a beach house in North Myrtle Beach and its very luxurious, However I could not have stayed at a more friendly location and Mike was superior in his management skills, making sure, above his duties that we we happy with our stay. I have traveled all over the US and I want others to understand the Motel / Hotel was built around 1964 with additions in 1970, no matter the year built, it has to do with cleanliness and the friendly staff. I would recommend this Lodge to any family or groups seeking comfort and location at a very very reasonable price. Thanks to all of you at Econo Lodge Myrtle Beach, SC as we will visit you again in the near future. Thanks Ronnie Devamı

I enjoyed my stay. It was comforable, convenient, clean. The continental breakfast was decent, and fresh. If you're looking for "The Ritz" this is not it. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable and affordable place at the beach, you should stay here for sure!!!

For the price, a good beachfront hotel. Room was stuffy to start with as AC had been left off. Musty but got better. No ocean view from room, no balcony.
