This is a very good hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. Situated just in front of a metro station, so very convenient. A main shopping street also in front, which is a nice walk to People Square. Restaurants inside the hotel are really really good, lots of options for dinner or breakfast. Breakfast was overpriced but really good. Anyway there's a Burger […] King and Coffee Bean just in front if you want something cheaper. Rooms are also great, lobby is awesome, staff friendly and able to speak fluent English, which is something quite of strange in China. I have stayed in numerous hotels in both Puxi (Bund-side) and Pudong (Pearl Tower-side), and the Swissotel takes the prize. Spend a few extra dollars and stay on the Executive floor. Great staff. Great location. Great room. Some cab drivers don't know the hotel, so make sure to bring a map or hotel's phone number with you. Nice new and clean hotel with amazing amenities and staff. The pool and spa area was impressive. Very well appointed rooms with all the trimmings with modern yet timeless decor. Location of the hotel was good, walking distance to the Jingan metro station which was 2 or 3 stops away from the famous attractions in Shanghai. Complimentary wireless internet was a bonus. Hotel building and rooms were comfortable and clean.

The subway station is less than 100m away. There is a major Department store at the back and numerous restaurants along the street and nearby offering all types of cuisines.

The room classes that hotel.com put on their website is not accurate. We booked an advantage room thinking there was a living room and sleeping room. That was not the case.

Excellent hotel with all the amenities. Superb pool, sauna, steam room area. Breakfast buffet excellent, dinner buffet not so much. Location is good -I suggest taking a motorcycle taxi to the French concession- a memorable experience.

This is a modern western high rise hotel, so if you are a first time China visitor you may want to stay in something more authentic - however for business travellers and those who have experienced "traditional" chinese lodgings this is the way to go for maximum comfort. If you need Internet service without constant interruption , this is not the hotel for you. Other than that, hotel was great. Loved the spa especially.

I ended up upgrading my room, and it was perfect! Great staff, with great comfortable room. Used the spa, fitness and pool, and it was all great. The evening drinks and breakfast was great!

This is an excellent hotel and I have stayed in it many times on business in Shanghai. My only complaint is the lounge. We often hold business meetings in the lounge and have lunch or snacks whiel we work. The food is terrible and the service haphazard (sometimes good sometimes not). Hotel very comfortable almost a delight. The experience was very good indeed, made particularly good by the really excellent staff who spoke very good English and whose attitude was exceptionally helpful. We had asked for an extra bed for our 16 y/o daughter. This was already in place on arrival. On check-in we were offered an upgrade to the executive […] floor. An extra 400 yuan per night gave us internet, free hot breakfast upstairs in the executive lounge. But also free access to food and drinks until 11pm. This was a worthwhile upgrade and I would do that again. The bedroom was very good although a little cosy with the extra bed and third adult. Minor problems with aircon and plumbing were fixed immediately and within minutes. Local area is full of interest and convenient whether on foot or by taxi. Devamı

Recomend the upgrade option to the Executive Club Lounge. Includes buffet breakfast, wifi, access to Club Lounge throughout the day etc... Buffet breakfast was good, buty i've had better. Good location - very close to metro stop. Information desk also helpful and friendly.

In all criteria the hotel was excellent. However in room 2720 the air conditioning system was deficient--would not go below 20 or 20.5. We wanted 17. They could nor correct it. Other than that---the hotel was great. M

The Swissotel is a good hotel with an excellent location in the jing an area. However the rooms are small and the wireless Internet service is very very slow and unreliable.

The registration area is a bit small. I had a standard room with a kind size bed. I found the room a bit small. It would have been perfect if it had just another 50 sq. ft. I checked in with my wife and they only gave me one key. When I asked for a second key, they then told me that they had run out for the day because it was an extremely busy day. […] Of the hundreds of travels I had done, I have never heard that before. Besides that, overall, the staff was extremely eager to help. Location is great. There is a very nice high end department store right behind the hotel with a nice supermarket and fast food area in the basement. The buddhist temple Jing An Temple is 3 minutes away. It's a very nice temple. Shanghai #1 Restaurant, which has a marvelous menu, is a 5 minute walk. Very easy to get to almost everywhere in the city in a cab ride. Most cab drivers don't know where the hotel is, but can find the way once the temple and the department store is mentioned to them. Devamı

I checked in late at 9pm and get upgraded to executive room on the 23rd floor with free wifi. The room is not the biggest for the bucks, but it was very clean and comfortable, modern, very well furnished. I loved the bathroom, took a bath, enough lighting, bathroom is exetremely important to me. Love the fact there is a swimming pool in the hotel, very […] clean and well maintained, and i did my exercise. I stay one night so the room and the hotel was very under utilized. The hotel generally is well located and efficiently run by cheerful, smiling staff. This shows in the number of guests at the hotel, but without proper care the heavy guest traffic may result in the hotel looking a little jaded quite soon. The room was pleasant and clean, although the bed was a little too firm for my liking, as seems to be the way in […] China. I was bothered by the sound of other doors slamming, and general noise from the corridor and adjacent rooms. Breakfast and dinner at Cafe Swiss were very well attended, and with good reason. The buffet has a very good selection of fresh, tasty food, and the staff coped admirably with the large numbers of people. Pool and sauna facilities felt a little spartan, and are looking rather tired. I don't believe the sauna has ever been scrubbed down and the sauna benches are in a state of near collapse. Beware of the water in the jacuzzis which is rank. If you don't have a good shower afterwards, the unpleasant smell will linger on your skin. Devamı

Great hotel! Comfortable, western beds, huge bathroom, room service was very, very punctual, excellent steak hose. The only problem I encountered was when I had the hotel get us a cab. I had a business card of a tailor in Shanghai written in English and Chinese. I do not speak Chinese. I asked the concierge to get me a cab to this place and showed […] him the business card. He told the driver where to go and the cab took me to Nanjing road West, not Nanjing Road East. This is a small issue for such as great hotel. Next time I will show the taxi driver the business card. I paid for my room in full and when the reservation desk asked to block $200 in addition on my credit card and I asked why they explained for "incidentals". After a 10 minute conversation the manager asked me to sign some form explaining I would not enjoy any of the items in the mini-bar. Evidently that was what the $200 dollars was for. Then when my […] daughters and I went swimming my daughters went ahead to the room after we finished and I realized that I could not get to the room because they had the room key. The clerk said I would have to call them and get them to come down with the key. I stood there with my towel, wet hair waiting on my daughters to come down and bring me the key. Even though they obviously knew I was a guest at the hotel. Oh, and I asked if they had any goggles to borrow. No just for sale and they were 228 rmb which is about $35. It's all about gauging the customer. This is a very nice hotel, but they just don't get it. Customer service and making the customer really feel welcome just does not shine through. Devamı

Dissapointed in different ways: 1) no free internet. For a hotel which advertises itself as a business hotel, it is weird that you have to pay for such a basic thing. Then on top, if you want to use wireless, you also have to pay extra for that! 2) small room with very impractical design, a table with a sharp poing which cuts in the middle of the room […] is not very handy, especially at night. 3) the lobby had a terrible draught. People were sitting with coats on to have a drink. I know the temperature dropped dramaticly, but for a 4 - 5 star hotel, this is just plain bad. The state of the hotel was good, it was clean, the service was friendly and the location excellent. However, the 3 items above make it that I wouldnt recommend the hotel to others, as there are quite a few hotels in Shanghai which are better for the same price. Devamı

I paid a little extra for an Executive club room which was worth the breakfast and the free wireless which is normally not included in the standard rooms. The executive club level is also a nice place for a drink in the evening.

Couldn't be better!! Staff outstanding and attentive. Room was terrific!! Location just around the corner from a Metro stop and the Jing'an Temple. Great price, great value, wouldn't stay anywhere else!!!
