Anton Inn - Pacific Grove

We booked this place for the Big Sur half marathon in November. It was one of the more inexpensive places in Pacific Grove that weekend and we wanted to be close to the course. For the price this motel is not bad considering the whole area. Most places were asking a lot more. However, it does come with what you pay for. The parking is not the greatest […] and I'm glad I wasn't driviing a large SUV. There was no light in the parking area which was a pain trying to unload and load the car at night. The room was nice but the tile floors were not in November. The room could use a TV upgrade and a little fridge like most normal hotel rooms these days. Breakfast in the moring was great. The staff was friendly and the area felt safe. Although it was a little bit away from any attraction (1/2 mile from the ocean). Would I say there again? Yes. However, I would also take some time to look for another place that is better. It was not a bad place and the room was nice, but it was just missing the little things and that makes me want to look for something else if I ever find myself in Pacific Grove again. Pacific Grove has its share of small little motels, each with a little different style. This is a place that has been updated with a contemporary feel. Comfortable and clean. No view, but if you want a cozy little place for a couple days, this might be the place for you.

The Continental breakfast had good choices, fresh, and enough. The happy hour in the afternoon started and ended early. The neighborhood is very quiet and deer are seen around the streets.

The room was nice and the location was good. However, they did not provide the type room I reserved. There were 3 people in my party and instead of the room with 2 queen beds that I reserved, I got 1 bed and a sofa which was too short to sleep on. We had a late flight arrival traveling all day from Florida to California and my room was given away to […] someone else before we arrived. The second night they provided a roll away bed, but it was uncomfortable. I'm still waiting on them to comp me in some fashion for the error. The owner is never on the property and apparently very hard to get in touch with. Devamı

If you are looking for a quaint B&B type of hotel, this is not it. This is more like a motel but with good value for money. The location is excellent, and we had one of the best breakfasts served in a hotel, ever....

Place was small but relatively nice. Our room overlooked the parking lot so we had to keep the windows closed. We also had zero wifi in the room which was a bummer. You expect a hotel at this price point to have wifi and conditioner! The breakfast was better than expected and the kids really enjoyed the crackers and cheese hour. The Anton is a wonderful little gem located off the beaten path in Pacific Grove. The beds were comfortable the rooms well appointed (with heated floor in the bathroom) and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much, and felt that of all the places we stayed on our trip the Anton was the best.

Great location for reasonable price. Only a couple of minutes driving to the beach and 10 minutes to Monterey sites. Nice little breakfast each morning and wine & cheese each afternoon. Clean rooms.

I loved this hotel, with just one little caveat. The first night I spent there, the room was cold, and I couldn't find any heater. The hotel staff brought me a space heater which heated up the room just fine. The second night, the space heater was gone. I got in late (around 10), and there was noone at the front desk to bring a heater. I called, left […] a message, but got no heater. The room was icy cold, and I had to stay under covers--wasn't really able to enjoy the spacious room that night or in the morning, because it was too cold. BUT, they put out a fabulous evening spread of complimentary wine, cheese, olives and grilled veggies, as well as a decent AM breakfast. It's a great place, just be sure you have heat in your room. We arrived to find an intriguing little inn. The staff was very causal about the service but friendly enough. For the price we had not expected much more. The room was a clever arrangement, with a European feel. Tile floors, simple furniture and open bathroom (the toilet was in a closet). The overall feel was clean and comfortable. Excellent value for price I paid.

This was a one-night stop on a family road trip. We were very pleased with our room and found it comfortable and clean. The small hotel and rooms are very quaint and sit in a quite neighborhood. We enjoyed our evening walk to the nearby lighthouse and old cemetery. The breakfast was light, but was plenty adequate for our family. Experience will vary based on which room you get. Our first one had a funny smell but Cindy quickly put us in the "17 Mile Drive" room which was larger and much nicer. Cindy did a good job of making us feel welcome there. We walked down to the beach one day. It was also very close to the downtown area and the beginning of the 17 Mile Drive.

Stayed here two nights, and, boy, what a treat, and difference from the usual hotels! Very small, personal treatment, very kind and accomodating. There is a happy hour in the evening with wonderful wine and snacks, and a great breakfast with pastries, fresh fruit, pancakes, cereal, etc... Room was very nice, very clean, and perfectly situated in the […] Monterey area. Can't wait to return! Devamı

Anton Inn was a great find the Monterey Bay area. Pros: - Great customer service - Quiet - Upgraded rooms nicely and tastefully done - Nice fireplace - Comfortable bed - Close to the Lighthouse, Monterey Bay, Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf - Relative bargain compared to other inns, hotels - Breakfast included - Free parking Cons: - Parking was […] a bit tight - Sign was lit on one side only - Paint was coming off on the walls in some parts - Couldn't take advantage of free internet as signal was weak to the room Devamı

I stayed at the Anton Inn from 11/12/2009 through 11/14/2009. It was reasonably priced, had an attentive staff, and was peaceful, quiet, and comfortable. I look forward to staying there again whenever I return to that area of California. The location is in Pacific Grove, about10 minutes from downtown Monterey, not as convenient to the shopping and […] sights as some other motels, and no playground for tots. But it is a quick and easy trip to wherever you are destined on the Monterey peninsula. When you stand in front of your room, all you can hear is the sighing of the nearby Asilomar State Beach surf and maybe a seagull or two. This place is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The room was crisp and very clean, the staff was attentive and courteous, and the bed was luxuriously soft and inviting. This is a healing kind of place. I would definitely recommend the Anton Inn to travelers who want top quality features for a budget price. Devamı

An easy spot to start the day from. The hosted breakfast was quite nice everyday. Freshly made pancakes, fresh fruit, and gourmet coffee were all quite nice. The wine and cheese in the evening was a nice touch. Less then three minutes by car from the Pacific Grove Golf Course and ten from the Monterey Aquarium. We will stay here again.

I loved my short stay at the Anton Inn! The front office personnel were very attentive and helpful. There were other guests enjoying the cheese, crackers and wine provided in the afternoon. The room was a great size, very clean, and cozy. The only thing the room needs is a refrigerator. The bed was extremely comfortable also. All for a great price! […] I highly recommend this hotel! This was an excellent stay for the money, breakfast and afternoon wine tasting was an extra treat and the location was close to everything on the peninsula. The only oddity is the sitting area with the couch with the TV that doesn't work.

I like to see older buildings redone instead of torn down. These are charming little units from the forties (I'm guessing). New bathrooms, nicely done and decor that made me wonder how did they do that. They should have a craft class on how to make the blinds and lampshades but instead they offer a nice breakfast and afternoon wine and snacks. I brought […] books to read while my husband was off golfing. I was surprised to find an assortment of books in our room. I liked that touch. The only downside is a little mustiness in the rooms. I have lived by the ocean and know its hard to defeat. I will stay here anytime I go to the Monterey area. Devamı

Das kleine Hotel macht einen modernen Eindruck. Das Zimmer war geräumig und sauber, die Ausstattung umfasste einen künstlichen Kamin und einen großen Fernseher. Das Frühstück war gut. Kostenloses WIFI Internet gibt es in der Lobby, nicht aber in den Zimmern. Die Lage ist ruhig und abseits des Trubels am Fisherman's Wharft. Das Meer mit dem felsigen […] Ufer und der kleine Leuchtturm sind nicht weit und auch die Cannery Row ist mit dem Auto in nur 5 Minuten erreichbar. Devamı

Nous n'y avons passé qu'une nuit mais cela nous a suffit. Le lieu n'est pas désagréable...mais pas spécialement agréable non plus. Disons que pour le même prix, on doit trouver beaucoup mieux. En fait, il s'agit de 10 "pseudo" suites disposées dans 3 bâtiments séparés. Le confort est moyen, l'équipement faible, la propreté sans plus. Le wi-fi annoncé […] n'existe pas, le service non plus d'ailleurs (le desk est fermé vers 18h maximum donc faut surtout avoir besoin de rien!). La seule chose appréciable est le petit déjeuner avec service mais 4 personnes par 4 personnes cela doit vite être la galère certains matins. Le tout n'est pas spécialement bien placé à Monterey si on ne veut pas prendre sa voiture. Enfin, en synthèse, peut mieux faire pour ce niveau de prix. Devamı
