Good value for money. Good location if you want to take buses for travelling within city and also very close to train station for out of city travel. No good restaurants nearby. English speaking staff at front desk. overall O.K

Spent seven nights at this hotel during my new year's visit to China. After comparing the HiExpress with several other hotels in the same price range, it was by far superior. The hotel is located near the Shanghai railway station, although a bit difficult to find at first since I was arriving by metro from People's square. However you need to follow […] the signs leading for Metro Line 4 in order to get to the exit closest to the hotel. Once you exit from line 4, the hotel will be visible to your front, and just keep walking towards it. Takes around 4 minutes. The staff was very friendly, and always willing to grant requests regardless of time. The rooms were quite big. Bed was very soft and comfortable, unlike the standard Chinese beds. Bathroom was quite unspectacular, but sufficient and well stocked with amenities. Shower gel is supplied from a big dispenser in the shower. The TV channels were very good, on offer was CNN, HBO, TV5, NatGeo & Star Movies, along with some local chinese channels. The breakfast however wasn't the best. Restaurant was always very crowded, with mostly chinese since the hotel mainly caters to them. Breakfast offerings consisted of the traditional chinese items such as century eggs, congee, noodles, and beef sausages. Not many western dishes to chose from. Breakfast was however sufficient enough for me, although I only ate it 3 or 4 times during my stay. The neighboring areas were not the best as there were mostly poor people from the countryside traveling by train. Daytime it's fine, but night time it can get a bit spooky. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Shanghai and not looking to spend so much money on a hotel. The proximity of the metro made transport very easy, and I didn't mind at all that the hotel was roughly 2 miles away from town, as the metro could take you basically anywhere in the city within less then 30 minutes. The Hotel is near one of the rail stations. our booking was known to the staff and the checkin was without any hassles. Morning breakfast had only few Veg items. good quality cookies and variety of fruits is expected as breakfast from this hotel.

Nice rooms with all washing facilities, free bottled water, free cable internet in room. Beds are highly comfortable and the cover (blanket) is the best of what i've ever had for sleep. Very good breakfast (just at 8 a.m. too overcrowded). Nice view from the upper level. Very bad surroundings (it's a huge train station, you need to cross dozens of 'strange' […] unpleasant people while coming to the hotel). At the station you have 3 metro lines with several exits each, if you loose the proper exit (as far as i remember, it's exit 4 of line 3/4), you won't be able at all to get to your hotel coz you'll appear on the another part of the train line which isn't posible to cross. The room of the hotel was quick big compared to others. The service and food were great. The only drawback was the surrounding didnt look safe. But overall, I would recommend this hotel to other people

This hotel is located near the central railway station of Shanghai. The neighborhood is not upscale, to say the least, but it offers a picture of Chinese life that one does not see near hotels located in the more upscale sections of Shanghai. If you are looking for a budget hotel then Holiday Inn Express is the right hotel for you. The location may be out of town but a 5 min walk to the Shanghai Railway Station will take you to anywhere in the city. I stayed in this hotel for 10 nights in August and thorougly enjoyed my stay. The room is quiet and clean, with international power sockets […] and internet access. The pillows are 'weird' though, a soft and hard ones that do not work well for me. It would have been nice to have had some free literature in English ie leaflets, maps etc available to guests.

I would recommend it to someone that doesn't care about the location, it is far from city center and surrounding the hotel is not so clean very close to railway station.

The hotel is out of the way of the main area, but for the price you can't expect to be in the heart of it all and it was just a few minutes walk to the metro. the hotel was quite old and some stains were noted in the hotel table. it was quite an OK hotel but nothing impressive.

An attractive modern building. Rooms clean and comfy, and deluxe room spacious. Ask for a high floor on the railway side as the views are spectacular. It's a little way from the nearest metro, but there's a convenience store almost next door. Taxis are in any case really cheap in Shanghai. Only one of the front-desk staff on duty st any one time speaks […] English, and if you ask them for translations they do a literal one using an online dictionary, so you have to be careful, especially if you want a destination to show a taxi driver. Bus N. 5 will bring you from the airport to the other side of the railway station ... that you will have to cross by the underpass under the old station (without any escalator). and the hotel does not have any shuttle to the airport! 價錢合理,地點方便，行去火車站都係5-8分鐘,火車站旁有便利店及M記,24小時都有嘢食,職員服務OK, 酒店大堂有WIFI,

離上海火車站很近, 可以直接走路去搭火車或長途客運, 周遭的吃或買東西都很方便

酒店地點較近長途客運車站, 火車站, 地鐵站, 很方便我們轉地點到下一站遊玩

В номерах нет батарей, кондиционер не работает на тепло. Я была в конце декабря, по номеру и отелю передвигалась в длинном пуховике и сапогах и все равно не могла согреться. Спасал только горячий душ. Сообщила персоналу об эой проблеме, а они развели руками и дали мне второе одеяло)))))

Parfait... grandes chambres bien entretenues .Proche du métro et de la gare... Accueil très chaleureux. On a même eu droit à une belle attention dans nos chambres le soir de Noel. 地點位於上海火車站-長途客運集散中心，走路約5分鐘到達，環境不錯，早餐可以吃到各色上海炒麵，我在這邊住了四天，每天都換不同的蔬菜。是個不錯的地方

일단은 호텔 자체는 가격대비 상당한 만족입니다만, 여름에 이용하시는 분은 냉장고가 없을을 유념하시고요.. 위치는 상해역보다는 상해시외버스터미널과 붙어있습니다. 따라서 지하철 1호선과는 거리가 좀 되지요...;; 한참걸어가야 됩니다. 그거 빼고는 호텔 깨끗하고 편하고 좋아요

공항에서 지하철을 이용하신다면 상하이 지하철 역 북쪽출구로 나가셔야 합니다. 철로를 사이에 두고 남쪽으로 나가시면 고생하십니다. 공항버스를 이용하신다면 상해역 종점에서 내려 지하도로 내려가셔서 북쪽 출구로 나가셔야 합니다. 공항버스 이용하여 상해역에서 내린다면 지하도로 도보로 가시거나, 택시 기본요금 거리입니다. 주변에 볼거리는 없습니다. 구글의 지도 주소위치는 틀리더군요. 위성지도를 이용하세요. 위성지도가 맞습니다. 중국은 페이스북이 안됩니다.

因為行程關係必須住離上海站很近，所以選擇了此飯店，住了兩晚，床很舒服，房間也都很乾淨，交通也很便利離3條軌道交通都不遠。因為飯店本身很高，所以一出車站就可以輕易發現，不會迷路也不需問路。只是上海站附近真的沒有什麼東西。 如果是鐵道之旅的話，推薦入住這家飯店。

지하철 3,4 호선을 사용하는 고객이면 가격대비 아주 깨긋한 호텔입니다. 1호선의 경우 약 15분간 걸어야 하는 단점있고 냉장고가 없음. 주변에 기타역과 시외버스 터미널이 있어서 장거리 여행에 좋으나 주변에 음식점이 몇개 없고 발마사지등의 업소는 확인하지 못했음. 아무튼 가격대비 호텔의 만족도는 90% 이상

스탑오버 때문에 잠시 머물 호텔 찾다가 싼맛에 갔는데 위치는 상해기차역 바로 옆에 있고, 방의 청결도나 이런것은 상당히 만족스러웠다. 다만 주변에 놀 곳이 없고, 기차역이여서 그런지 노숙자들도 꽤 많이 보임. 가격대비 정말 괜찮았고, 오는 길에 들린 퍼플 마운틴 호텔 보다도 훨씬 좋았음.

Being Shanghai an expensive city I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel at this rate. Breakfas t was good, rooms very comfortable.

I was very satisfied with their facilities and other services by cheaper price compare to other expensive hotel. From the day I checked out, I have stayed more 3 days in Holiday Inn Shnaghai Pudong. At that time I have paid alomost 4 times price per day compare to your hotel. BTW If I have chance to vist Shanghai again I will stay your hotel.
