This is not a 4.5 star, no concierge, no snacks after 11pm, no minibar, wireless service weak, bath tub closer is in the center of the tub which continuously closes as you stand on it

Carlton Savannah has a bit more of a boutique feel, if you prefer that to the more grandiose hotel climate of the Hyatt. Hotel room was very nice and really clean. Food in lobby restaurant was good as well. Staff were extremely nice. However, checkout process was lengthy and a bit convoluted, we were not able to pay with AMEX as system was down. It was ok, the room wasn't cleaned properly. The bathroom shower is definetly to small for two people & the fixtures in the bathroom are falling apart!

They gave us a Room with view to the air conditioning machines, the noise never stop, the description of the room include a kitchen that we never saw too. The location is perfect for carnival and staff of the restaurant friendly.

I stayed here in Feb 2012, and I thought the hotel was very nice. It was comfortable, centrally located, stylish, and the service and food quality were both solid. However, this new stay in January 2013 was unfortunately disappointing. The hotel seems to have let basic maintenance lapse greatly. Constant cold showers despite complaining. Recently renovated, but it's clear that the renovation has not been properly maintained. Nice rooms, with lots of space with modern finishes and ambience. Elevator moves quickly, but only one was operational. Very comfy bed - comfier than many other hotels. Need more electrical outlets in-room, however.

Very clean and comfortable. When I booked the room I was supposed to get a mountain view and got the view of back of hotel. I could not open the windows. I did not get complimentary bottle water. The last night I asked front desk staff to call a Taxi for next morning. I was told that the taxi driver was not available and that they would call someone […] else. The next morning different staff told me no one called a taxi and they needed to call a taxi. When it was time to leave a had two taxis fighting to take me to my destination. There are limited facilities, particularly the lobby area. It is a bit out of the main town area but in a nice area close to botanical gardens and zoo. In a reasonably safe area of town, The rooftop bar, which is a feature of the hotel and which we were looking forward to, is supposed to be open Thursday thru Saturday, but was closed for private functions. […] We found the staff very helpful and pleasant. I think the hotel is wonderful. The roof top bar and its view of the city was amazing. The deluxe room was very spacious. The staff was great, friendly and always ready and willing to help me. The food was great. I would so recomend to friend and family.

Nice hotel with neat big room, modern bathroom and great indoor fitness facility. What we did not like is the stuffy smell in the corridor on the 9th floor, most probably as a result of moisture. Nice hotel. Overall the experience is good. Wifi was supposed to be complimentary but for some reason it was not available on my floor. I had to hook up my PC to the LAN port in order to get internet access.

The Carlton Savannah is a very contemporary and charming hotel in Port of Spain. It's not very close to downtown and is about 30 minutes from the airport in Piarco. The taxi ride can also be expensive (NB: the hotel offers a shuttle, but not free of charge). That said, the pool is an oasis, the rooms are very smart and contemporary with Caribbean flair […] and the rooftop bar offers a fantastic rum punch and a a great view of the city and the mountains. The Hotel didn't have Internet as promised. During the three days that we were at the hotel they didn't fix it. The atmosphere was lousy. We found also a person asking us for money at the elevator.

Very clean and well kept. When I did the booking it said that wi-fi was available in rooms. Not true, only in lobby area. They allowed a taxi driver come up to our room when we never asked for a car. That was a bit of a negative safety issue for us.

The staff were friendly. One was kind enough to accompany me on his way home to a movie venue to ensure I did not get lost. He refused to be compensated for his time. The staff were young and enthusiastic about their jobs, and displayed the most professional behavior. I will return. Irish the roof top restaurant was opened all week!

When you enter the hotel it has an atmosphere of relaxation. The staff was very friendly and polite . The room was beautiful and comfortable. The pool was wonderful, it was a delight to find that it was a heated pool. When we went to dinner, the staff was very friendly and professional . It has a laid back atmosphere and a wonderful view of Port-of-Spain and the surrounding areas, it also has a bar. The hotel also has a fitness room which was clean and spacious , it has treadmills, weights and bikes. . My husband and I had a full itinerary during our stay in Trindad and relied on the Carlton Savannah for numerous things from business meetings to shipping parcels. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We will certainly recommend this to any foreign travelers needing a dependable and quality service.

We started our trip at 3:00 a.m. and arrived at the Carlton Savannah in Trinidad at 8:00 a.m. (Check-in is at 3:00 p.m.) A friendly staff welcomed us and took care of our luggage. In the meantime we could enjoy a good breakfast. The staff would do anything possible to see if there would be a room available any sooner than 3:00 p.m. Though exhausted, […] we were not in a hurry, so after breakfast we sat by the pool and surprisingly at 9:15 a.m. we got our keycard! I'd expected some service, but this was superb! This gesture really made our day! We had a wonderful stay, excellent food (both restaurants in the hotel), very professional staff and a nice ambiance. The Carlton Savannah was everything a hotel should be. The staff, from the front desk to house cleaning, was attentive and responded immediately to any needs or questions I had. Every person was friendly, made eye contact and made me feel welcome. The entire staff seemed well trained and happy. The room was bright, beautiful, modern and tastefully […] decorated. The pool, grounds, restaurants and common areas were all well maintained. The only note I have is that the restaurant, Relish, had a somewhat limited menu. There was a horrible smell in the hallway on my floor, with an unsuccessful attempt at masking with some kind of chemical. I sustained some damage to my car in the parking lot, and had to make too many calls to too many people in security and front desk over 3 days just to have them tell me what I could have read of the disclaimer they set up at the […] entrance to the parking lot - that they weren't responsible and there was nothing they could do. A hotel that expensive should have surveillance cameras in their parking lot. They ought to make that relatively small, but valuable investment. The noticeable car damage spoiled my stay immensely. I had to call housekeeping late the 2nd day; my room was overlooked. She didn't replace coffee, or toiletries; when security came with those much later (after housekeeping had closed) there were loads of sugar with the coffee, but no creamer! The following morning it was a small chore to get creamer from front desk, then the restaurant, then housekeeping. The stereo system had bluetooth, but after several tries I gave up trying to sync it with my phone and laptop music library; neither did it accept CD-RWs. Both disappointing. Car damage, foul hallway odors, and housekeeping all reduce my grade. The latter two can be forgiven. However, until this hotel installs either ACTIVE and CONSTANT security guards or camera surveillance in their parking lot, I shall not be returning there. Devamı

This was a great find for a few weekend stays in Port of Spain. The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood just outside the main downtown area. All night things are easily accessible by taxi. The rooms are big. The place has a nice small modern feel to it. The best part is the super friendly and helpful staff. Food is good there too. There is just […] a little disorganization at the front desk at times and the pool area and rooftop bar could use a little more development. The only small issue was that they had to double-check that the room was ready, and that was for an 8:30 pm check-in time. We had a large corner room with nice views of the city and four windows!

Its a good hotel for business travellers, Not much to do on vacation, Although the staff was very helpful, The toilet was a bit tricky, but we figured it out the last day while talking to the housekeeper. It is a nice hotel, but next time I will try the hilton, more prep for vacationers.

I stayed in a beautiful 12ft floor room with a view of the pool, Prime Minister's Mansion, with a (green) mountain backdrop. The room was bright, spacious, modern, and comfortable and equipped with both wireless and a hard internet connection. The room also contained an comfortable king sized bed, safe, large desk, refrigerator, central ac with automatic […] settings, plasma TV and comfortable arm chairs. The staff were attentive and professional. In my week stay there was, however, one annoying occurrence - a missed wake up call. Not acceptable but luckily without consequence and management assured me that it would not happen again. Given the convenience and accessibility of this hotel to and from my client sites, restaurants and night life, and the relative serenity and attractiveness of the space, this remains my first choice in Port of Spain Hotels! Chic & posh boutique hotel with comfotable rooms & amenities, located directly across from Queen's park. 45 minute taxi ride from airport, but rates were vere reasonable. Queen Elizabet & Duke od Edinburgh visited in 2009.

This is the best rated hotel in Port of Spain which is not saying alot. Ive also stayed at the hilton which, at the time before renovation, was a seventies nightmare but i would even stay at the Hilton over this place. We arrived late to non functioning internet in the room, no bottled water, no bath plug and no instructions by the bed as to how to […] work anything. With some reluctance the young night man on the desk got me transferred to a functioning room. My business partner's aircon did not work properly,her room smelt bad. The breakfast was bad , the service was shocking. the breakfast restaurant manager should be sacked. The restaurant food, as with trinidad generally, was awful, made and served by complete amateurs. My cocktail was a bad joke that took ages. Most of the positive reviews that etch up the rating come from locals who clearly dont have much quality input. So its always good to look for reviews from experienced travellers, so please, as someone who travels a great deal this place, despite its chic appearance (rapidly dating quickly it has to be said), was rubbish. The girls at the front desk (during the day) were good but again lots of male middle managers hanging around , getting in the way of their juniors- always annoying and a tell tale sign that the real problem here is management. On the second day the maid did not clean the bathroom and left the tap running! If i were you I'd pay the extra and go to the Hyatt. Appalling for what it is supposed to be. Devamı

The hotel was well maintained, and the staff very courteous. The dining area is fairly small, but adequate. The room was very well appointed,comfortable and clean. The pool area was nice, and shielded from the street. I would stay here again while in Trinidad.

Very nice 4 star hotel for Trinidad. They advertise it as a 4.5 star, but this is just a 4 star, if that, in terms of services. There is no room service between 10:30 pm and 6 am, and the minibar is empty, which is disappointing and requires you to plan any needs for the night ahead of time (I didn't even get bottled water in the room#. We booked 3 rooms though the hotel was no where near full, the kid at reception was very reluctant to give us a room with a decent view. Once we entered our rooms there was an awful stale odour in one of the rooms which took them ages to check out, in the end we told them we will check out and they changed the room. The supervisor offered the first […] night free for all the trouble for that specific room. Breakfast was a disaster as they managed to give me the wrong omelette and gave me one with pork in it and as a Muslim this made furious as this error was only noticed once I had taken a few bites. On my final night I return to the hotel to find my bed all made but something felt wrong as I looked at my bed. After a few minutes I realised my bed was at an angle and the bed had somehow broken whilst I was away. Which required me to change room again late at night which once again took them ages to sort out. As for the first night free, well that didn't happen the bill was exactly as it was at time of booking. I was so tired and frustrated that could no longer be bothered to argue with them about it. Other than that the hotel is actually presented very well and the staff are very friendly however can be slow to react even at a time when the hotel was not busy. Large, comfortable, clean, modern rooms. Swimming pool open 24 hours. Large hotel next to a busy, noisy road. Car parking is useful. Some way out of town. Kitchenette available in some rooms, for an extra charge. Rather off-hand service at desk.

Nothing is open (one restaurant) on Sunday. There is no shuttle serve and the cab ride is expensive. The location is bad, 45 minutes by cab to a beach. The one restaurant that was open, did not have everything on their rather short menu. No pool service. The tour agent booked us to see the turtles, when we got there we were told the chance of seeing […] a turtle was slim to none. I was very satisfied with my overall stay at The Carlton Savannah. The front desk guest clerk are very peasant & always available to help. The food at Relish was delicious & the service was spectacular. I ate there at all three meals & not once was I disappointed. You can order your meal there & have it delivered to your room. The only down side is […] that the kitchen is closed from 10:30 p.m. till 6:00 a.m. so no room service is available. I highly recommend the bake & shark. The mixologist aka bartender at Indaba was very professional & attentive. The service was just as impressive at Rise the roof top bar. It overlooks the Savannah & the mountain side of Port of Spain. The view is magnificent. I did not have the opportunity to eat at CASA because I wasn’t very interested in their choice selections. Waterbaby (the pool bar) was never open, or looked like it was in use. To be frank the pool area is set up very nicely and quaint but left me very disappointed. The pool was not very clean; leaves & plastic floating in it. The area was always deserted. It has great potential however. In other reviews, I read about the bathroom issues. I had none, the toilet has a push button flush that takes getting used to. There is internet available but no wireless in the room. The rooms are very spacious & modern. I loved my stay and would highly recommend that anyone stay here. I’m not sure what mini-bar they were referring to, but I did have a small fridge in the room that I stocked. Devamı
