Somehwere in teh hinterlands fo Queens, New York is Maspeth.... counld not find it without gps A wharehouse district, highways, nothing to see, walk at your own risk, but oh what a great little hotel. Since HOJO changed its logo, freshened up its limite services hotels, they did it the right way. Clean, comfortable rooms, off street, secure parking, […] at a good value by NYC stadards.... After a weekend trilogy good, bad and ugly-this night's stay was welcomed. A three star night -- I woudl come back since I do have relative about five minutes away as well as LGA -its a prime location. Great value -if you drive in and still want the convenience of NYC. They accommodated us fast. The room was clean and there were plenty of towels. The breakfast was good. Plenty to choose from. The Staff was very polite and helpful. Free parking was a plus. I would return.

The hotel itself was very nice, clean, and modern. However it was not within walking distance of any subway stop. The hotel did have a free shuttle to the subway but did not do pick-ups and was only during the week and during the day. So if you are there on a weekend no shuttle. Cabs were reasonably priced but will stay closer to subway next time. I […] would have rather spent more money on a closer hotel than on cab fares. I stayed there with a friend and her 2 kids and it went very well. We needed to be close to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and New Jersey and we felt we were centrally located. Room was clean and so was the Hotel in general. The neighbourhood was a little "sketchy" but all went well.

My chief complaint about this hotel is the shuttle service. When you're in Queens and nowhere near a public transportation...you need to have a shuttle running from 8 AM to 8 PM. This hotels shuttle runs from 8 AM to 4 PM....IF...the driver came into work that day. Also, it's not available on the weekends when you most need it. Get a clue Holiday Inn […] Express! Everything else was okay. All the more reason for them go at least provide a decent shuttle service so people can get places without dropping $300 on taxi's like I did just to get to and from public transportation over a 5 day period. We drove from Washington, DC to NYC to attend a wedding that same night. When we arrived we were tired and eager to relax in our room for a few hours before heading into the city. Unfortunately, we arrived at 1pm and check in wasn't until 3pm. The hotel staff informed me that our room was available for us, but we'd have to pay $10 per hour plus taxes […] and fees to check in early. Did he really just tell me that I could rent my room by the hour? I travel a great deal for my job and often arrive to hotels before check-in time. It has never been a problem for me, nor have I ever been informed that I could get into my room if I paid a little extra. We refused to pay the extra fees. We sat in the hotel lobby staring at the desk staff for two hours until we could get into our room. When we finally got out room key we were shocked to learn that our room was in the basement. The bathroom smelled like dirty mop and our feet kept sticking to the floor. We called the desk requesting someone to clean our floor, but when we got back to our room after the wedding we noticed that nobody had bothered to address the problem like we had asked. We will never stay here again, nor will we ever recommend a Holiday Inn Express to friends or family. Devamı

Otyher than the fact that a group of individuals started a party next door and they would not stop even after the hotel person asked them to stop., it was not bad. And there again there was water coming out of the smoke alarm that went off while we were trying to sleep ith the party still going on. All we received was a I am sorry for what happend from […] the front desk clerk b ut it was not his fault. This hotel is ideal for the location where I work. I pick this hotel for this very reason. Otherwise, it is an average place to stay. Taxis have a hard time getting to it. There are some amenities. Difficulty finding hotel, as it is not very well known. Make sure you get instructions from the front desk, particularly for taxi rides home. We used yellow taxis from the city, $20-$25, including the toll. Excellent breakfasts, good value for money.

Hotel and room were reasonably clean and maintained. The location of the facility seemed to be a rather seedy area. Breakfast bar leaves alot to be desired. Eggs and gravy were both disgusting. The pre-packaged and reheated cinnamon rolls and the site made pancakes were the only saving grace of the meal.

Hotel is only a few years old but its showing it's age. Carpet in hallways very dirty. Walls are thin. You can Hear everyone in the halls. We had towel bar fall off the shower door. Morning free breakfast is good. But very busy at 9:15. Over all its on OK place to stay in Queens. Free parking ;-)

Stayed at Holiday Inn Express Maspeth over the Easter long weekend. Great little hotel, room was clean, service was good, and breakfast wasn't your common continental style breakfast, it was absolutely amazing compared to most other hotels. The hotel was conveniently located approx 15-20 to Manhattan but there really wasn't much surrounding the hotel. […] They overbooked and placed us with a King size bed when we specifically requested two Doubles. But did very well to compensate us for our weekend stay. Overall the Holiday Inn Express Maspeth is a hotel we will definitely stay at whenever we visit NYC. Devamı

nice place nice neighborhood but too far from subway. the ad says short distance and we thought we could walk but it was way too far to walk.

This hotel was absolutely awesome, for the price that we paid, it was well worth it, I was thoroughly impressed with he room -WOW, my husband was thoroughly impressed with the buffet breakfast that we were served the 2 days that we were there and our son, well...let's just say that having a McDonalds right beside your hotel is icing on the cake for […] a little kid, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the New York area anytime soon, it is clean, bright and the staff were very helpful and courteous...I know that it will not be our last time visiting the Holiday Inn Express, Maspeth :o) Devamı

The hotel is located in an industrialized area. Inside of the hotel is modern, clean & updated. I was very disappointed when I called the front desk & asked for a toothbrush, at first I was told to come and get it. Then I was told they didn't have any. I find this very unlikely! It was a very nice hotel, and very comfortable. The room size was a little bit small, but it was cozy. Very Clean, safe neighborhood. The best was free and gated parking for guests. They have shuttle to take you to subway every hour. It is the best choice trust me, people say stuff but this was very good. The hotel is not in a great neighborhood, but it's right off the LIE, so it's very convenient to Manhattan or Queens. The room was a bit small, but nice looking and it had everything you needed including free wifi. For the price, you can't beat it.

The check in at the reception was quick and very good. My girlfriend and I were very impressed with our room. From the lighting to the funishing to the comfort and cleaniness of our bed. The bathroom was nice and clean too. The amenities in the room was readily available (iron, standard board, and blow dryer). That pleased my girlfriend. The majority the staff were EXTREMELY rude,unhelpful and uninformative, especially the manager!! They do not communicate to each other therefore causing me to run up and down the elevator showing them my paper work before check out. The lady who served breakfast was VERY pushy I felt as if she was rushing me to eat my breakfast EVERY morning so she […] could clean up. The room was smaller than I expected, and when it rained one day the room began to smell of mildew and the front desk was NOT helpful when I complained. After 1 day of complaining they finally changed my room to an upgrade (because i asked for an upgrade) but the next day they wanted to take it away(but irefused) , when i was packing my clothes from the previous room i found dirty underwear stuffed in the side of the bed!! I stayed at this hotel on a Friday night for a mini getaway for myself because I have alot of roommates. The staff of the hotel were nice and helped me upgrade to a jacuzzi room. There is a McD's next door to the hotel and a gas station for snacks. The hotel is located one or two exits from the Queens Mall area, which has lots of restaurants, a Target […] and the mall of course. I had a wonderful stay... it was just what I needed (Some alone time). I liked that the room had a colorful wall. The staff were nice and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. Devamı

Hotel was extremely clean, staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable, free access to there business centre and complimentary breakfast buffet, me and my family enjoyed our stay there, would recomend this hotel to anyone. they even gave us a free late check out which was great.

Maspeth Holiday Inn Express is convenient to the location where I am working. That is why I stay there. It is not close to any attractions and not close to any train or subway station. The hotel is okay except that the elevators were not working well when I stayed there. I had to take the stairs several times. Coffee is only available during breakfast. […] There is not a great deal of TV channel selection and no on demand movies. Devamı

Inconvenient for out of towners without a car. Minimal staff, one person I saw at check in, no service at all. It was aesthetically non- offensive & fairly clean, but it wasn't much more than an upscale Motel.

Overall good hotel. the only concern is following. We were being charged $50 extra as security deposit which was supposed to be refunded in 2-3 days but I have not yet recieved it.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and friendly service. Only about 25-30 min away from manhatten which is great. In a good neighborhood and has parking in the back of the hotel. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hotel is nice, staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a nice convenience. Easy to get on the 495 expressway. Neighborhood is boring - no restaurants nearby. About a 20 cab ride to Manhattan.

Only downside is that to get to nearest subway you have to either catch a cab or take the bus. But when we took cab into Manhattan was about $25-32 in fare. This hotel was a very pleasent surprise. I was in New York for work and I found it very convienient to the city and the warehouse that I was working in. The hotel offers a shuttle to the subway station that is about 2 miles away. There are some restaurants within walking distance and a number of the local restaurants that deliver to the hotel. It is […] close to the highway but the traffic noise was not as bad as was described in other reviews. The staff was great and made sure that I was happy with everything every time I walked by the front desk. I will definately recommend this to my co-workers and I plan on staying there again in the future trips into New York instead of staying in town. Devamı

Loved this room! Very modern decor, comfy bed (good pillows marked soft & firm--nice touch), all tile bathroom, flat-screen TV. You could pay two or three times as much in Manhattan and not get a room as nice as this! Staff was mostly nice and helpful, except for one blonde at the front desk with an attitude. But hey, this is New York! Loved having […] free parking. My husband and I like to drive when we visit NYC so this place was great for us. The free hot breakfast was good (eggs, sausage or bacon, hot biscuits, waffles). The bathroom was a little short on counterspace, which could easily be remedied if they would just add a small cabinet or shelves for toiletries. Only real drawback was the noise from cars and motorcycles revving their engines around the block on Friday and Saturday nite. Apparently the MacDonald's next door let's the kids hang out for "cruise night" there on weekends. Someone must have called the cops on Saturday night because they all left around 1 am. Just bring earplugs and/or sleeping pills (I always do wherever I travel). Other than that this place is a real find. It's easy to jump on the highway and get over the bridge to Manhattan in 20 minutes if you don't hit any traffic. I plan to stay here again. Devamı

We were very impressed with this hotel; convenient location, free parking, and our room was huge for NYC standards. Our one problem is the lack of nearby family-friendly restaurants. The hotel is right next door to McDonalds, but if you are looking for a non-fast-food option, things get signifcantly more difficult. We drove around the neighborhood (following […] the general directions of the desk staff) but were unable to find anything that was open and would be agreeable to two young kids.
