Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lexington-Downtown - Lexington

The hotel was a college hangout. If you are going with a family of small children, I don't recommend it. It was very loud and not very clean. If you are going to hang out with a bunch of college friends, it is an ok place to go. Room was not very clean and beds were very uncomfortable.

Great location. Near Keeneland, horse farms and U of Ky.

Very helpful staff...close to Rupp Arena. Pet friendly environment and great breakfast buffet!

The level of noise because of the train and cars is loud, specially at night

The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was full due to the SEC Championships and so we didn't have hot water on Saturday morning, but it was fine on Sunday. They also made a adjustment on the bill. Breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

WE WERE IMPRESSED OF THE CLEAENESS OF OUR ROOM AND OF THE HOTEL IT'S SELF. THE WORKERS WERE VERY FRIEND'LY AND VERY HELPFUL IN GIVING DIRECTION. WE FOUND THE BREAKFAST VERY GOOD. OUT OF A POSSIBLE 10 WE WOULD GLADLY GIVE IT A 10.

I chose this location for two reasons. One, it was two minuets from where i needed to go in Lexington.Two, ive stayed at four other holiday inn expresses and have been very satisfied every time...except for this one. The room was smaller then expected(but i guess they try to make them look bigger), the floors were extremely dirty(lots of stains, unvacuumed) […] and the room seemed out of date. Other then those three things everything else was good. Beds weren't uncomfortable so i cant complain tooo much. Like the title says eh...plus its probably better then most of the hotels in the area. Very clean and comfortable!! Walking distance to UK and downtown Lexington.The staff were very helpful & knowledgeable. My wife and I enjoyed indoor pool, spa and exercise room. WE REALLY SLEPT WELL. THE ROOM WAS NICE AND CLEAN AND THE BEDS WERE COMFY. WHEN MY 12 YR. OLD SON WENT TO SWIM IN THE POOL HE WAS YELLED AT BY THE POOL GUY "MR. CORNET" AND WAS TOLD TO GET OUT!! WHEN I TRIED TO TALK TO THS MAN HE WAS VERY, VERY RUDE TO ME AS WELL AND SHUT THE DOOR ON ME! THE GUEST THAT WERE STANDING AT THE FRONT DESK HEARD THIS MAN […] YELLING AT ME FROM DOWN THE HALL AND WERE WATCHING...I HAVE NEVER.... BEEN TREATED SO RUDELY IN MY LIFE, I WAS PHYSICALLY SHAKING. The title of my review says all I want to say. I'd stay there anytime.

I booked my reservation on Hotels.com with a non-smokingpreference. When I arrived at the hotel, I was in a 2-queen bed smoking room. When I questioned the smoking room, the clerk immediately offered me an upgrade to a King size room with a jacuzzi tub! What a delight. I had a seminar that evening, went out to dinner and then home to soak in that […] jacuzzi tub. I truly enjoyed my stay at this nice hotel. The staff was knowledgeable about places to go and with giving great directions to these places. New Hotel -Rooms clean

Before I booked my stay I checked out hotels in the Lexington area online. Read the reviews and made my decision from them. I felt I needed to write this review because at first I wasnt sure that I made the right choice from the reviews I read. In the end, I MADE THE PERFECT CHOICE! I stayed for 4 nights and my stay was very enjoyable. The people at […] the front desk were always helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is more than a continental breakfast....warm and cold selection that was most inviting....the cinnamon buns...very yummy! Also, the hotel is within walking distance to the University of Kentucky which was exactly what I wanted. Their was ample parking contrary to other reviews! You may not get a spot in front but the hotel isn't that big so its not a far walk. The train noise was not an issue at all. I was very pleased with everything and will definitely stay there again! We were attending a conference at Lexington Convention Center. This hotel was cheaper than the ones that were recommended, and were only about a mile away. We did have to take a cab there and back everyday, because it's not very walkable- but the cab cost under $10- and the free (hot) breakfast was surprisingly good for a Holiday Inn Express!

Great hotel. Even if only for one night we enjoyed it. Nice staff even helped this first time visitor to Lexington by giving me a visitors' guide and recommendations of places to eat. Plus the fact there's a Dairy Queen next door didn't hurt! :)

Not really downtown but near U Kentucky, an okay Holiday Inn. The fitness room needs an elliptical. Breakfast was fine.

The location for the price could not have been better. Hotels in downtown Lexington would have been an exra $70 a night but the Holiday Inn was closer to campus. It is an easy walk to UK Hospital, Pazzo's and all of campus. The continental breakfast and free internet were huge perks as well. We were mistakenly put in a smoking room but the front desk […] staff upgraded other guests so we were able to get a non-smoking room for two nights (at first we were going to have to switch rooms). Joseph at the front desk was nasty snarky and demonstrated no positive customer relations skill. He was uncooperative, slow and quite the jerk. the maids were slow also will never stay at a holiday inn express again

Customer service at front desk was awesome they were very friendly and helpful. Maids walked into room when they wanted even after we acknowledged that we didn't need them. Showers water must get cold after certain amount of people showe.r because when we went to shower before check out it was cold/luke warm.

Efficient, courteous staff. Free wi-fi and breakfast. Good deal for the money.

Stayed here twice in one week and it is comfortable. Breakfast is only so-so but more convenient than going out.

Two factors weigh against this hotel. First, I chose this hotel for its convenient location to where I needed to go in Lexington. However, along with the location came close proximity to a freight train rail line. As with the lead character in the movie "My Cousin Vinny," the freight trains roared through town on and off all night, which made it hard […] to sleep. If you don't mind not getting much sleep while in Lexington, this would be a fine hotel. Second, when I asked for a recommendation for a restaurant, the directions I received led me on a wild goose chase to a place that I could see, but there was no parking anywhere near the restaurant, and it was raining cats and dogs. We wanted a clean place convenient to UK and downtown with free wireless internet and tastey breakfast. Bingo! Gotta love Holiday Inn Express!

This hotel has easy access to UK however the price is a little high for the type of hotel.

The hotel was fine and we experienced no problems. It is very close to downtown Lexington, but significantly cheaper than the hotels there. If you're staying for something downtown, on campus, or near UK or Central Baptist Hospitals, this would be a good choice.

the Holiday Inn Express- Export Street in Lexington- is within walking distance of UK and a very short drive to The Red Mile Racetrack. Despite it's central location, the hotel is on a quiet side street so noise and traffic were at a minimum.

Hotel was very well kept, very friendly staff, excellent condition of everything. We did find a random sock in the room under the bed but everything else was spotless!

This hotel is conveniently located to downtown Lexington and Rupp Arena. The free breakfast was okay. Even though the hotel messed up my reservation, once we got it worked out, the staff was friendly and helpful.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Downtown Lexington on our way to our new home in Virginia. We were greeted by a friendly staff member and sent on our way to the room in minutes. He even recommended a restaurant for dinner that evening (which was amazing!). Our room was clean, quiet, and the bed was so comfortable. The hotel was very nice, new and clean. The beds were comfortable and everything was at your fingertips. So many food choices to deliver to your hotel room. MAKE SURE YOU ASK TO HAVE A ROOM AWAY FROM THE SIDE WHERE THE TRAIN RUNS ALL NIGHT LONG IF YOU NEED A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP. HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND BREAKFAST WAS TYPICAL FOODS EXPECTED.

We stayed here one night on our way to a Wedding in Georgia. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The hotel is located downtown. We could have done things (shopping, a movie, etc.) but we were so tired after six hours of driving that we just went to bed after dinner.

Breakfast was great! The rooms were clean and the desk people were accommodating. There is a Buffalo Wild Wings in walking distance, although the hotel was harder to find but that could have just been our GPS. We recommend this to people with pets.

Good price, slow check in, but nice overall room, should have more luggage carts also.
