River Inn of Harbor Town - Memphis

everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to help. the area was very safe, parking was easy. view of the mississippi river was great. the free breakfast was delicious and we espically enjoyed patrick as our waiter at those times.

My wife and I were there for a romantic weekend and we couldnt have picked a better place,because of the Proximity to the river and local amenities,bars restuarants.The rooms were very nice and the staff was very helpful.

Loved everything about the hotel. Breakfast at Paulette's was the icing on the cake.

This is a very nice place to stay in Memphis. It is almost like staying in a bed and breakfast with Paulette's restaurant downstairs. The outside patio on the fourth floor overlooking the Mississippi river was also very nice.

This was a wonderful hotel in every way, but the best part was our breakfast server Patrick. You'll have to go there to find out why. Just be sure to sit at one of his tables.

My wife and I went for our anniversary and were blown away. Great place and wonderful surrounding. Everyone was extremely nice.

We found the River Inn at Harbor Town just right for our needs on our recent trip to Memphis. It was close enough to the downtown/ Beale Street sights without the noise and traffic. Just over the bridge to Mud Island, a short 10 minute drive to downtown, was this small but beautiful Inn. The front desk was very helpful when we had questions or directions. […] The adjoining restaurant was very good for our full breakfast each morning, and the piano bar with fireplace was our favorite place to spend the evening. Our room was furnished nicely and comfortable and we enjoyed a river view. We also enjoyed the sitting room/library by the elevator just outiside our room where we enjoyed coffee in the morning while waiting on our friends to join us for breakfast. It is a beautiful hotel that seems to be like one you would see in New Orleans or Savannah right in the heart of Memphis. Devamı

Close to the action of Beale Street in a residential area of Mudd Island. First class operation across the board. Breakfast is at higher-end on-site restaurant. Food and waiter (Patrick) was great. Coffee delivered to sitting area on your floor each morning at 6. Free internet. Wife loved it. Nuff said.

The River Inn is an excellent hotel for those looking to stay in Memphis who do not mind being slightly away from Downtown. Nonetheless, it is only a short taxi ride away. The hotel itself is in a great location with excellent views of the Mississippi River, and surrounding Mud Island. The rooms were comfortable and well decorated, the staff was accommodating […] and extremely pleasant to deal with. The in-hotel restaurant is consistently ranked as one of the top in Memphis and the complimentary breakfast included in the room was excellent. The hotel is beautiful and clean. The staff is incredibly curteous and professional. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great experience and an incredibly comfortable bed.

Much nicer than we were expecting--most comfortable bed Ive ever slept in away from home. The staff called me by name when walking about the property. Seemed genuinely glad we were there--something that, unfortunately, isnt true at most motels--wished we had planned more time in Memphis, as this was the highlight of our trip.

Wonderful location and easily accessible to downtown without having to be downtown. The room was spacious and quite nice. Turndown service was great (as was the Port wine and truffles). The pillow top bed was a bit too soft for us and that was the biggest drawback for us. The breakfasts at Paulette's were great too.

Very nice hotel, beautiful, clean bedding. Easy access to tourist attraction. Out of the busy tourist area. We would definitely stay with them again.

our room was nice, with a nice view but nonetheless we questioned if the bed sheets were changed before our arrival...there were a couple of noticeable stains...no turndown provided...but the staff added as we asked a dozen roses and a complementary couple of glasses of what it seemed to be port. Also the bathroom was directly above a running engine […] perhaps from the walk in refrigerator at Tugs, the restobar at River Inn. My husband and I just spent 2 nights at the River Inn and would recommend it to couples. Our room was lovely, if a little small, and well furnished. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and breakfast in the hotel restaurant, Paulette's, was very good. Our only complaints were (1) we couldn't find the hair dryer (it's stored in the nightstand a […] good distance from the bathroom!) and (2) the showerhead didn't work properly and was not repaired during our stay. I had the impression that it had been broken for a while. Other than that, we loved the comfy bed linens and especially the close access to a walking trail right along the Mississippi. Beautiful. While on a return trip from Chicago to Austin, TX my girlfriend and I booked a room at the River Inn from the road. Upon our very later arrival our key was already waiting (as was our port and chocolates). The beds were some of the better beds we have slept at in our travels (except for maybe the Hotel Princess Barcelona) and were quite comfortable. […] The free breakfast was quite good as well. my only complaint would be the a/c unit was a tad noisy. This is a delightful hotel with a resort atmosphere and the most civilized breakfast service in town. Stay away from the casual dining restaurant, Tugs, in their building across the street. The service is poor and the food is overpriced and mediocre.

I wanted to take the bed home with me and the servers in the restaurant were excellent.

Loved this hotel! The bed was a little soft, but the room was very nice, the included breakfast was out of this world. The bacon, coffee, and evening port was worthy of paying a higher price for a hotel room. The 4th floor outdoor patio bar with the view of the river was also wonderful. The view at the River Inn of Harbor Town is beautiful. Out of your room, the Mississippi River can be viewed. The hotel is located in a neighborhood with a beautiful scenery. However, I would not want to stay there again. The layout of our queen size room was too cramped. For example, both my husband and I could not walk between the foot of the bed […] and the armoire located in front of it at the same time. The front desk clerk did not attempt to help us relocate to another room with less restricted conditions. Quite frankly, he was not accommodating at all. Also, the filter in our room was caked with dirt. We could see dust hanging through the fiters. I left a complaint with the front desk, but a member of management said it was not received. Devamı

I decided to stay at the River Inn of Harbor Town in Memphis as a quiet and luxurious respite in an exhausting cross country drive. I was greeted with smiling faces and champagne at check-in in a lovely lobby. My room was beautifully decorated and had a huge bathroom. The surrounding neighborhood is very quaint and pretty. After I returned from a really nice dinner at their cafe I found that turn down service included a small decanter of port - such a nice surprise! The bed linens were plush and comfy and I slept like a dream. I can't say enough nice things about this hotel. It is perfect for a romantic retreat or just a quiet place to recharge your batteries. We were expecting a nice, upscale, boutique hotel, but what we got was a dirty room (but with a lot of potential). The staff was great (save for the cleaning staff). We found a used soap in the shower, a couple dead bugs by the window, and some hair in the bed. For the rates they charge, its really unacceptable. Just to illustrate the snobbery of the hotel and genral lack of cluelessness they have about taking care of hotel, I think this story sums it all up. I don't drink due to medical problems as a result my wife has given it up too. So she drinks sparkling waters and i just drink water. We were watching sunset on the rooftop patio and i went to the portable […] bar were friday's bartender (saturday's concierge) informed me they only serve liquor, so i made my way down to the lobby bar to get our drinks. The lobby bar is run by Paulettes - a Memphis tradition - so much to my amazement when i asked for a sparkling water and water the bartender informed me they don't serve water. I replied really you don't serve water, and he said well let me check. The first waiter he came to said sure we do it is in the bottom cooler. So in a minute he reappears with a large bottle of peligrino. and the same waiter says that is not what he wants, get him a small bottle. He returns a minute later with a small bottle. Only a small amount would fit into the glass and i asked if he could keep the rest in the refrigerator and he reluctantly agreed. On saturday, i was taking a nap when housekeeping arrived, my wife asked if they could come back in a couple of hours and she said no, either now or at turn down. So my wife said so what you are telling me is you are unable to work with us and she said no mam i can either do it now or at turn down. and my wife said what time is turn down the maid replied 6 pm. so we made quite certain to be out of the room from 5 to 7 pm. when we came back at 7:30 the room was still un made and uncleaned. The concierge from friday was back on duty and i called him and he came and got rid of the dishes and trash and brought us fresh towels. We made up our own bed. This hotel is not ready for prime time. great location, great views, great restaurants, but the people - except for Nate - have a take it or leave it attitude. Devamı

I have lived near Memphis all my life so spending the night there before flights, relatives in hospitals or a good ole concert happens often but I never even knew this part of town existed! It is beautiful and the rooms were very cozy and homey feeling like a old victorian home but everything is fresh and new. Our only complaint is that our room was directly below the roof restaurant. At about 10 or 11 pm on the 2nd night of our stay, the tables and chairs were being re-arranged which made a terrible scraping sound above our heads as we tried to get to sleep. Otherwise we had a delightful stay.

Granted the room was small but the aethetics are worth it. Colonial enviroment, a similar to a quaint bed and breakfast with an upscale staff. Absolutely beautiful, romantic atmosphere!

From the description and other reviews, I knew the River Inn of Harbor Town was going to be a pretty nice place to stay, but it totally exceeded my expectations. We fell in love with this little place. The staff is incredibly friendly, the room was perfect and romantic. The open window view to the Mississippi River was quite lovely, too. Breakfast was fantastic.

What a cute, quaint, and charming hotel! From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out the service was superb! The staff takes a genuine interest in making sure you have anything and everything you need and that you are 100% satisfied. The room itself (we stayed in 202) was very clean..you could even smell clean when you opened the door..not […] "cleaner", but freshness. The bed was so comfortable I had to look to see what type of mattress it was b/c I want to order one. And on top of all of that, you get a gourmet, cooked-to-order breakfast every morning! The Eggs Benedict...OMG! The BEST! SO SO SO Good! You also get your choice of juice and coffee and water and a little basket of muffins/croissants (yum) and fresh fruit if you like. And Patrick (the host/waiter) is the best waiter I've ever had anywhere...ever. He takes his job very seriously and is incredibly gracious and helpful. He even stepped outside the hotel the morning we checked out to say goodbye since we decided to skip breakfast in lieu of getting on the road earlier. Such a nice guy. Also, the neighborhood that this boutique hotel sits in just doesn't get any cuter. And it faces the MS River, so you get an awesome sunset every single evening. Pricey but worth the stay if you can afford it! Wonderful, friendly staff, great atmosphere, spacious, comfy, beautiful rooms, great restaurants, food and ambience! Good location on Mud Island and not too far from downtown (Beale Street).

It is indded an excellent hotel. Comfortable and having high-quality. The breakfast and the service is good. But the room is not soundproof enough. I was awaken by the voice from the room next to mine.

We loved our recent stay at the River Inn of Harbor Town. We had a river front room. The dinner although expensive was perfectly prepared and served. The breakfast that is included was fresh & delicious. If you want a location near downtown & with great river front walking this is it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Even stayed an extra night. As a boutique hotel The River Inn is able to focus on making your stay "memorable". The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided is as good as it gets. We were there three days and tried all the selections. Nothing disappointed. Great food, great presentation, great atmosphere […] and charming efficient service. Our room was the only tiny glitch, as the windows were difficult to operate, and some of the finishes seemed to be rushed and failing. For a new hotel you would expect better. (I'm a builder so perhaps more picky). The location is nice and quiet, though Memphis doesn't seem to be a noisy city. This hotel was not cheap but worth the money. It is in a lovely quiet up market area on the banks of the river. Food, service and accommodation were all excellent. If I am in Memphis again I would stay here.

We loved our stay at the River Inn. From the moment we arrived the staff was very helpful and gracious. The room was very comfortable and the view was romantic at sunset. We enjoyed the extra touches such as the wine and chocolate turndown service and the soft fluffy towels in the bathroom. The shops on Harbortown Square were also very nice; not a lot of shopping, but there was a pizza place, a coffee place, and a very nice grocery/deli on the corner. We go to Memphis often, and this hotel met or topped all others we've visited. The hotel and restaurant were top quality, as advertised. Staff was extremely courteous and professional throughout, and the neighborhood is a terrific enclave just across from downtown party area, with a riverside walking/jogging trail just acreoos the street. Room needed a good dusting and vacuuming. Restaurant Staff was OUTSTANDING. Rooms a bit small for price. Breakfast was GREAT!!
