This was by far one of the most exceptional hotels I have stayed. However, if you are in need of a quiet refuge, this is not the place for you. Lots and lots and lots of children enjoying their vacays in the hallways and indoor pool.

This hotel was worth the cost and the staff was exceptional. The central atrium is gorgeous; not a wide range of good-priced dining in the hotel, but the neighborhood has shops. Everything was clean and the beds were really comfortable. No microwave in the room was a bit of inconvenience but the refrigerator was large, and the in room coffee maker was […] super. The Gaylord is set on National Harbor across from Alexandria. Access is easy to Mt. Vernon, DC, and Alexandria. The weekend we were there the hotel was hosting an Aneme Convention so the costumed guests were interesting indeed. The problem was for those who wished to avail themselves to breakfast, lunch, or even supper in one of the hotel's restaurants […] as they were all closed! There are limited eateries on the 2 streets that are also located on the Harbor, so having restaurants within the hotel is a necessity. If you go to the Gaylord confirm they will have their lounges open! Additionally, the 2 queen beds were hard and surprisingly uncomfortable. Devamı

Line to check in was out the door, had to wait over 1 hour just to check in. Rooms are ok, but nothing to write home about.

Beautiful hotel with great accomodations. Only negative would be that all nearby restaurants are quite expensive...

It's a bit like a mini-Disneyland, encased in glass. You almost need a golf cart to get around. As a conference facility, especially for a large conference or company meeting, it's great. You never have to leave. But if I came to Washington to see the sights, I wouldn't stay here. It's far from DC, and feels like you're attending a dental convention. […] (In fact, there would probably be one going on while you're there). The surrounding neighborhood has this "fake" feel to it, almost like a movie set representing what America imagines itself to be, like one of those "Americatowns" built by the Russians during the Cold War to train their agents on how to blend in. I was promised a lot in the add but in reality the hotel room did not have bathrobes and slippers (you have to ask to bring it), no safe, no refrigirator and not even a DO NOT DISTURB note on the door. Very frastrating. I guess next time when I am booking I have to personally call the hotel to make sure the room has everything which is promised.... […] ..... Devamı

My sons and I had a very relaxing New Years stay at the Gaylord. Even though they are upper teens they enjoyed the Fitness Center, Arcade, Sports Bar entertainment, and just walking the pier was relaxing. And the Sunday Brunch was a big winner

The employees are the best there the service was great

Not happy with my Gaylord at National Harbor experience on NYE. Made reservation for 1 King bed. Not avail upon arrival. Told "sorry". Not sure if this was in error on Hotels.com or Gaylord side. Specifically booked via hotels.com as it showed king bed avail on site at time of reservation. Isn't the point of a reservation... to actually hold a reservation […] for what you reserve!!! Choose Gaylord (more expensive) than Aloft or Westin b/c option to go to Pose lounge. Could not get in. You should have seen the line... reservations required too - I was not told and had inquired as I stayed here to go up to the lounge! Nickled & dimed for add'l resort fees/taxes and add'l automatic charge for use of pool/newspaper/internet. If they are going to charge everyone all these things, then why don't they charge it at time of booking??? Aware that parking was extra so I expected that. Otherwise, pretty hotel. Not a happy camper with NYE experience! Will not stay her again and not happy with hotels.com for incorrect reservation on bed size. Sorry Guys! Happy New Year!!! Devamı

The hotel was very noisy due to a convention in session. The plumbing system in our room was in a bad shape and the bathroom smelled. We smelled heavy chlorine far away from the pool and the water was dirty, so we did not get into the pool at all. The ice rink across the street (owned by the hotel) was like a toy ice rink, it was very small and crowded […] and the skates hurt my daughter's feet. She only did it for 5 minutes and we left. I'm glad I stayed here. I'd go with Valet service. Its a bit more but a whole staff is outside helping everyone in uniforms. Rooms were very nice. I stayed in a non-atrium room and had a nice view where I could see the hills and the potomic. My in-room dining menu (available only on the tv) didn't work, but that was the only downside of the hotel. Lots […] of shops are in the hotel. The sports bar has tvs everywhere and is huge. Wings were great (lots of meat). I'm usually pretty picky about hotels, but this was a really nice place and a great price. They even have a nice spa downstairs. Devamı

I stayed at the Gaylord for a conference and it was a great hotel, however the housekeeping service was a bit lacking. My room was very spacious and comfortable and very clean however my room did not have any wash cloths and when I inquired about it through the housekeeping service I was told that someone would be right up and no one ever came to deliver […] the wash cloths. Great for convention, but secluded from city if that is really your destination.

A beautiful resort with a staff full of attitude. They act as if they're doing you a favor to take your money. Don't use the phone - $80 for a 11 minute call to CA. Cell reception is terrible - had to use their phone - is there a pattern here? Was there for a conference and the banquest food absolute stunk. Will never go here again.

My husband and I stayed here as an overnight get-away to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniv.. We enjoyed the cleanliness of the hotel, our atrium view, the hospitality of the room service staff as well as the front desk staff. The only thing that I didn't like was the service and food at Moon Bay Coastal Cuisine restaurant located in the atrium of the […] hotel. Our food took forever, service was slow and the food was nothing special. We got a DELICIOUS apple cobbler with ice cream from the room service menu and it was awesome. We had a great time staying at this hotel. It's extensive with just about everything imaginable. The only downside was when checking out we requested a one hour extension and got quite a surly response from the front desk. Other than than 2 thumbs up.

The overall hotel is the best. My only complaint is the bed frames are a bit dangerous. The edges are exposed and sharp leaving my leg black/blue and sore. The corners are dangerous and not fit for children (extremely dangerous).

We went through hotels.com to book our room at the Gaylord National. We requested an atruim view room and instead received a roof top view. We ended up checking out early. We didn't get what we paid for.

Alot of great things going for this hotel. But I was a bit mystified when we had drinks at the atrium bar, they said they couldn't make a mint julip or a mojeto. I asked if i could get a bar mix (pretzels?) and I was shown the sushi menu. The drinks are pricey enough to come with goldfish.This is easy to fix. This hotel was more than what I expected. The staff was very professional and catered to all of the things that were asked of them. The hotel sits right beside on the National Harbor with plenty of shops to visit within walking distance. I will be staying here every time that I visit DC!

Beautiful hotel!! We traveled here for one night to celebrate a birthday and are very use to paying Montgomery County prices for items. However, be ready to pay big bucks for anything at the hotel or at the surrounding harbor area The prices of food and drink even made us doing a double take. It was everything I expected and more. Would highly recommend to family & friends. The Gaylord had a lot of activities to partake in. Never a dull moment.

Beautiful hotel but additional charges: $15 resort fee per day for wi-fi and gym. $35 per day to use the "spa." $20 per day parking fee. Booked 2 rooms, one had broken chair; the other had broken TV, safe and toilet. Efforts were taken immediately to fix all things.

Very nice hotel and convenient if you are attending a convention in the center attached to the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to be near DC sites as this is NOT convenient to DC. Also, be aware of additional charges for parking and resort fee which are charged over and above stated room rate.

Loved it! We only spent one night, wished we had more time!

This was a great stay. The lobby was immacuately decorated for Christmas, and everywhere we turned there was another detail that we had not noticed before. Our room was a "normal-nice" room, but very clean and the atrium view was breathtaking (14th floor and I'm afraid of heights). We live locally, so chose to only stayed one night to take in the hotel […] and the ICE exhibit. We should have AT LEAST stayed for two nights, as there were many parts of the hotel that we were not able to explore and/or explore - not to mention the quaint harbor district outside the hotel. Bottom line: Amazing hotel/resort. You just have to know that when you reserve a room, you are paying for the atrium and experience...and it is worth the money (if you find a deal). Devamı

It is a beautiful hotel but has many fees; from parking @ $19/day and you park your own vehicle, $35 for incidentals you probably won't use- we didn't, and it's just an average hotel. We stayed for a night to celebrate our birthday and have had more amenities in our rooms at Renaissance hotels. The bathroom , however, was beautiful.

THIS HOTEL STAY WAS A 11TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY GIFT TO MY BROTHER AND HIS WIFE. EVERYTHING DIDNT GO ON WITHOUT A HITCH. THERE WAS (2) RESERVATIONS FOR THEM (1) PAID BY ME AND ANOTHER (1) THAT WAS SET FOR THAT FRIDAY THATWAS PAID BY MY BROTHER, THEY WAS ASSURED THAT IT WOULDNT BE A PROBLEM OR A MESS UP,BUT THAT WAS SHORT LIVED. SATURDAY NIGHT AROUND 12 […] AM THEY RETURNED 2 THEIR ROOM TO FIND THEMSELVES LOCKED OUT OF THEIR ROOM, DO TO THE MIX-UP THAT THEY WAS ASSURED WOULDNT HAPPEND BUT IT DID. AS A RESULT OF THIS HORRIBLE CONFUSION, THE WAS NEVER CLEANED BY HOUSEKEEEPING AND THEY HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR BEFORE THE WAS ABLE 2 GAIN ENTRY BACK TO THEIR ROOM. Devamı

I paid a flat fee through Hotels.com expecting that would be my total charge. However, upon arrival I was told they charge every guest a $15 "resort fee." Hidden, mandatory charges are bad business. Avoid this place.

I never leave a review, but there was enough little things that annoyed me. 1. toilet seat was completely loose. 2. Air condition or vent made a clanking noise all night and didn't sleep well. room number 6-303 3. I could hear the people above us. 4. Room key didn't work the self parking like they told me it would. 5.The distance between the self parking […] to the room was quite a hike. 6. bouncers/bartenders need to monitor the guest alcohol consumption. Nice hotel and convention center, but you are stranded in the middle of we-can-get-that-for-you-but-you'll-pay-for-it hell. National Harbor itself is a kind of Stepford Town where they are not afraid to charge. Alexandria is nice, but a $16 round trip water taxi ride away. Found the same problems at the Gaylord Hotel that others have talked about: food […] on the floor of my "cleaned" room when I entered, mildew in the shower, carpet spikes puncturing my feet at the bathroom entrance.
