OHANA East - Honolulu

Comfortable room, great location, friendly staff, good price

The first room given very small. Balconies very small. Small area for pool and seating. Nice to be close to restaraunts, zoo, aquarium and beach. Staff did provide us with a second room after discussing the first room.

Ohana East was probably one of the better hotels in the mid budget price range that was very convenient. Staff were all very nice and the hotel was very clean.

I appreciated the cleanliness of the room, the helpfulness of the hotel staff, and the hotel rates. It made for an enjoyable vacation.

Great hotel with the perfect location. 1 block from the beach, shopping, and food. Literally across the street from car rentals and convenient stores with restaurants and bars in the building. I absolutely will stay here again!

Hotel was the nicest I have ever stayed in. Location of the Hotel was great. Had many nice places to eat nearby. Very Clean and Tidy. The people that worked at the Ohana East were all very nice.

Great staff, location, room, and price. Would definately stay there again without question!

the hotel is well-appointed, convenient to beaches and all Waikiki, larger-than-average rooms, pool, and good value restaurant downstairs. Having stayed at many Waikiki hotels, this is clearly among the best values. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. A great experience!

Well priced, comfortable hotel with friendly staff in a great location only stones throw from Waikiki Beach. Central to many good places to eat. Free use of Waikiki Trolley included which great way to get around town and out to Ala Moana Shopping centre. Have used this hotel before, and will definately use again!

When we arrived my first thought was "this place is cute", and it is. The location is great and we were able to access all the shops and restaurants easily. The room itself wasn't too bad to look at. After a long flight over there and no sleep the night before, the first thing we wanted to do was take a nap. I made the mistake of jumping onto the bed […] because it felt as if I had just landed on the floor. The bed was so incredibly uncomfortable that I contemplated sleeping on the floor at one point. We woke up every morning earlier than we planned simply because our backs were in so much pain. Other than that, the staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean and inviting. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone simply due to the comfort of the beds. Devamı

The room was much more spacious than others in a similar price range that I'vee stayed at in Waikiki. the furniture is a bit worn - but what do you expect for a real value price? Clean and comfy is all I ask, and tht's what I got. There is a coffee maker and a fridge in the room, good fast internet connection. Parking is in a garage next door, $20 for […] 24 hours as a hotel guest - just about what I've paid in other Waikiki hotels. The location is towards the end of the area of shops on Kuhio, but one block over on Kauakaua (sp?) you're in the thick of things, and the cute King's Shops area between your street and Kauakaua. This is an excellent value for money hotel. Clean, great service, comfortable rooms, very good location. Would stay there anytime.

Old hotel that needs to be updated immediately. Very noisy lifts, old bathrooms. Some staff need to be a bit friendlier too.

The room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. The room was serviced every day to the highest of standards. The staff were very friendly & helpful and the hotel is in a very convenient position. I would definately stay there again.

We stayed at the Oaha West for a couple of nights before staying at the East version. I have to say, that the East beats out the West by far. They need to renovate and clean the West up. The East was cozy, clean and had great service.

The Ohana East is a great hotel to stay at in Waikiki. Very central location, easy walk to beach. We didn't have any problem with street noise like we have had at other Waikiki hotels. Great place to stay. Close to the beach, activities, food, bars, ect. I would deifinately recommend this place. Only complaint was they advertised a poolside bar which did not exist.

Dated and basic facilities but clean, comfortable, tidy and good location.

The staff was polite and helpful (all shifts), and the room was very clean and very comfortable. We had a room that faced the mountains, which we actually prefered to an ocean view; the scene was constantly changing as sun, clouds, and rainbows moved through. Location was close to (5-minute walk) Waikiki beach, close to major city bus routes (we didn't […] rent a car for our 2-day stay), and plenty of restaurant action in the neighborhood. Devamı

The hotel was excellent to stay in. I made it in early, and my room wasnt ready. The front desk clerk gave me a room for 1hr to shower/clean up, which was needed for a long plane ride from Japan!

Not fancy, but not plain or run down either! The room was clean, spacious,comfortable and quiet. The bathroom is on the smaller side, but the shower worked well. We REALLY enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi! They were clean and refreshing and beautifully tiled, and there were plenty of comfortable lounge chairs around. Also was plenty of shade.

on our way to hawaii we stayed there for 3 nights. our room was on the 12 floor. the only thimg which i didnt like where the neighbor, some where, as you could hear nearly everthing they said, so the walls arent that thick or the others just to loud. but everything else was great. second hotel row from the beach, millions of abc stores around you, same […] amount of bars and restaurants... theres a car rental right across the street and the staff, espacially the bell boys, are very kind. i can recommend this hotel! p.s. as you are in the middle of waikiki its also loud on the street, but it didnt bother us that much. a yeah, there is one other thing ;) after ten o'clock, the hookers come out on the streets, also directly on the street around ohana east. but they are not trying to drag you in to the next restroom or so... so it was nice to watch =) Devamı

Room was clean. The bed sucked. Service was helpful and friendly. Hotel is old and it shows in some places but it's not terrible. Free internet was a nice touch but it was a little slow at times. If you need a place to stay in Honolulu for a reasonable price this place deserves a look.

I was in town for business so for my purposes the hotel was centrally located in Waikiki at half the price. The room was clean and staff efficient. A dozen eating choices within 100 feet. If I was to go with my family I would probably stay somewhere with a bigger pool and ocean view. But even saying that...the beach was basically across the street.

Located close to the beach, shuttles, and great Waikiki shopping this hotel is very convenient. The rooms are clean and the coffee shop is excellent as is the restaurant downstairs. Coupon book was a nice touch. At night the hookers, beggars and street preachers are on the far corner which is fun to watch for some but may be a concern to others. Bearing in mind this hotel is right in the heart of Waikiki, you have to expect some things. Parking will be ridiculous, things will be expensive, and there will be throngs on the streets till midnight. With that said, the Ohana East is a wonderfully remodeled older hotel. The rooms are "old-school," but clean and big enough. It's not a resort by any […] stretch. The Ohana's staff is where it really shines -- very friendly and accommodating. For example, we had a red-eye flight out and they happily held our luggage, let us use the beach towels and pool all day and let us use their 'hospitality room" to clean up before the flight. Your room key allows you to ride the 'pink shopping trolley' for free. We found this to be a very pleasant and efficient way to get around Waikiki. This was our second stay here. This time we booked a 1 bedroom suite which was well worth the extra. Very efficient check in and check out, helpful and courteous staff throughout the hotel. Our room was spotless. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to beach, shops and transport. We will be back!

Good hotel and friendly staff. Lots of good eating nearby and the beach is only two blocks away. negative: WiFi only in lobby and by pool (sometimes). Wired Ethernet in room was non-existent on one day (problem was traced to cable modem hidden behind the TV that needed to be power cycled - fixed that myself). Even when working, internet is slow. Impossible […] for video streaming. OK for email. But you go there to "get away" right? Watch out for the guy in the lobby trying to sell you a time share. Devamı

This hotel is centrally located in Waikiki. The front desk moved us from our room on the 2nd floor to a room on the 17th floor which gave us a more of a view. However, beware that late at nights the hotel is near the streets where there are prostitutes.

First stay at the Ohana East. Was definitely not impressed by the beds. Very old and hard. Could feel every spring. It was only the shower and location that saved it. Rooms were not cleaned daily, only beds made up and rubbish taken. There are many prostitutes that hang around on the corner of kuhio and Kaiulani so just be aware of that at night. Bell […] desk and lobby were super friendly and location was really good but I'll definitely not be staying here again. Go to the Sheraton which is directly behind if you want comfort Devamı

grate location good for the price

I have read some good and bad reviews about this hotel, so I was a little wary of what I might find. Happily, I had a great experience. The location is convenient to the beach and restaurants, the front desk and bell desk staff were very helpful, and the quality of the hotel and my room actually exceeded my expectations for a budget hotel. One of the […] best things was the hospitality room you can use to have a shower and freshen up if you have a later flight and checked out earlier in the day. The only minor inconvenience was that the internet didn't work in the room and I had to sit in the lobby to use the wireless there. This didn't bother me unduly, as I wasn't using it for business purposes. I would recomment the hotel as good value for money and would stay there again. Devamı

We enjoyed our stay at the Ohana East. we had arrived early morning from Australia, and the hotel were very accommodating, giving us a room at 9.30 AM, so it was great getting a shower and catch up on some sleep so early. They were also good when we left,. This time we had a late departure for Philadelphia,and again a temporary room later in the day […] so we could shower and change. I'm someone who loves the outdoor living space, and a gym as well as cleaness and location. The pool area is very small with no ambiance -the hotel next door would have suited us much better - the Princess "K" that pool area is gorgeous and the rooms are more updated than the Owana East with a similar price. The service was very helpful and the rooms […] were clean enough. The gym is very small but I was glad there was one. The location is excellent as you can easily walk to the beach or anywhere up and down the main drag. Devamı

Overall a nice stay in Waikiki. Not the fanciest of the hotels but certainly clean and comfortable. Conveinient to shopping and a short walk to the beach. Hotel has parking available ($20 per day). Complimentary coffee and breakfast danish was a welcomed start to the day. Housekeeping staff was very friendly and accomodating. I would certainly stay […] again. Devamı
